It's probably two english words katakanaized, shortened and put together then romanized again like Prince of Tennis was called Tenipuri.
Japanese seem to like these kinds of names.

then i dont think they are ever gonna make a manga called Bakuman in bakuman. that would be rediculous

Just caught up on this manga after seeing this thread the other day.

Great manga, too bad it seems a little unrealistic.. but it IS shonen on top of trying to be somewhat real.

Shinen is the type gantz, berserk, and elven lied were from, which is more realistic.

oh yeah, because gantz & berserk certainly are realistic mangas i actually think this is pretty realistic, not that I know what the life of a mangaka is like, but it feels realistic enough for me to accept it ;D

Well I don't know why this thread just died, I read this as it comes out.

Seems they got smart and are going to do a rewrite.

No. Forget that. If he followed up with advice to take to be first with, it would be fine, but his attitude was 'be happy with where you are'. I wouldn't follow the advice of anyone like that.

The realism would be the slice of life/real world aspect to it, not the gritty/gory dark/over sexed themes in most Shinen stuff.
Shinen= 17+ but mostly 13-5X
Shonen = 6+ but mostly 8-2X

Target ranges are pretty wide tho indevendaul series can shoot for less or more in a specific range, I am current reading the get backers manga.

I've read a couple chapters(gaa wats the diff between a volume and chapter again >>) need to keep at it it has 40 translated so far.

And a volume is a collection of chapters. Most shonen manga, to my knowledge, have at least 11 chapters in 1 volume. Give or take.

Just ignore the following if you haven't read it yet: (I tried not to spoil anything though)
For some reason I can see him staying in that state... and not coming out of it. =O
Or just be normal and then continue on with life.

it's bullshit. typical end of a chapter to make you read the next one. man a manga about manga doesn't do any better at avoiding what things it explains as manga tricks.

Though I would read detective trap, sounds good.

Anyone keep track of the time in the anime? I'd like a timeline.

Just a wee bit too soon for an anime for a manga that only has 44 chapters out so far.

The ending of the chapter, not surprised since we've seen the signs a number of times for this to happen. Good chapter though.

SO, is bakuman getting canceled too? That chapter just reaked of 'the end' sooo bad. Hell, if that was that last chapter that'd be a fine end.

Hopefully not, cause it's one of those good to read series every week and it doesn't take 2 minutes to read, plus we get to find out about the world of how manga is made

Well Chapter 55 is out and another awesome chapter. Miura looks like he's breaking down and to create 3 stories, will be awesome to see what they create . Hopefully Aoki moves on to another magazine then doing a series slightly ecchi, then again Negima does a good job.
