Holy shit... the Naruto community just exploded...
That was the best Naruto chapter I've read in ages... y'all have to agree with me on that... I just hope it turns out to be the real Obito who's been behind all this... if my memory serves me right I recall "Tobi" having Madara's hairdo in an Itachi flashback...

It's also a good thing the anime actually showed the Kakashi flashback. Otherwise those viewers would have no idea why this is a shocker.

Apparently it IS Obito's mind too. The reason for him going mad, at least partially, was Rin's death as many (including myself) speculated and of course he blames it on Kakashi. Now the biggest question is how do Obito and Madara know each other? Time travel using Kamui?
Lastly according to the final page of the chapter, Naruto might end soon.

Oh... now they're fucked...

Kishi, that chapter didn't help explain anything. And there were even more flashbacks... you cheap bastard. Although I suppose that's a good reminder for the more casual reader about who he is. If someone didn't read the tankobans or watch the anime they wouldn't know who Obito is I guess, but that would mean they've probably been living in a bubble...

Well, we do know that Madara did not die in his fight with Senju but much, much later. He could have saved Obito and trained him, feeling he was getting old and might die before completing his plan. At some point it might have become Tobi's objective to learn Orochimaru's Impure Ressurrection, and he became shocked when Kabuto showed him Madara's casket because he had hidden it so he himself would revive him (complete speculation here). Given his unique jutsu, though I'd prefer that Minato had fought Madara in the Tobi suit, it seems it really was Obito that time...

Your very close to my own theory. I think that Madara created the Tobi character himself and was Tobi for many events like when he fought Minato. I also believe he saved Obito and trained him and that when Madara died, Obito took on the Tobi persona. I also think that Obito killed Madara himself and that Kabuto was aware of that fact.

Well, gentlemen, I think you missed an important point in the end of the chapter; Madara KNOWS who Obito is.. so, yes, You are both likely right.

That is partly what I base my theory on.

The uniqueness of Kamui really bothers me too..
But that would mean the 14-15 year old Obito fought Minato on par... Isn't that a bit too much?
Also, wth is happening to the awakened statue?

Yes, he does. And Kisame probably knew aswell. Which makes me wonder why the hell was he still in league with them.
For once I'm looking forward to a flashback in this series.

Wow, Tsunade got cut in half. Holy fucking shit.
This is getting intense. This feels like the end, for real.

You always go for the medic first... damn.

Ehh, Naruto had to be Hokage somehow.
Yeah, I said it. And yeah, I was being sarcastic.

I'm so confused, how was he already the same as he is now back when he fought the fourth Hokage? Kishi, you got some 'splainin to do...
Looks like you're about to get your wish.
Right?! And holy crap looks like a flashback that I might actually enjoy is coming next chapter.
On another note Kishi seems to be wrapping up like literally everything right now. I wonder if this series really is coming to a close...

Care to elaborate?

Supposedly he was gonna wrap Naruto up after this, but in an interview after that statement was made he said it'd take at least a year or two to wrap it up the way he wanted. Keep in mind these are supposed statements and interviews. You can find them on ANN and other sites. I was just thinking with the way he's wrapping up everything The End might not be too far off.

Yeah... they've still got that emo-kid Sasuke to deal with, and now with the return of Orochimaru as well it might take some time...
Poor Tsunade... did Kishi really have to kill her off in such a brutal manner... ? At least her boobs are intact...

Actually; his master.

So from that chapter we can infer that Obito's mangekyo sharingan already had awakened at the moment that he would've died.
I didn't read the manga stream translation yet, but I was wondering how Obito got to where Madara is if he can't move from that statue, could he have a mobile base like the technodrome (can't remember if I'm spelling that right)? Or did the place where Obito and Kakashi were fighting in the war right over the same place where that Madara's base is now? Hmmm...

How do you figure?

Obito was said to have phased through the rocks... foreshadowing for his space-time jutsu. That underground this was fucking huuuuuuuuuuuuge if you recall, so it could fill out gigantic parts of the naruto world, or whatever... it's not unlikely.
Obito: "What do you want me to do?" "Take care of you.. lower region..?"
Madara: "..if you would like.."
what?!

Well isn't his space time technique directly from his mangekyo? That's how I understood it, though as usual I could be wrong.
Offline
Obito starting to look more and more like Madara... so does anybody remember how Kakashi got the mangekyo... ?
Offline
Cyrimus, he awakened it during the time skip. The circumstances are not mentioned.
