Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

Looks like closing manga stream didn't change a thing. All 3 chapters are out on manga reader. Enjoy ^^

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

While I'm glad that someone took up the mantle of translating the latest manga, I'm also very confused. Why are there giant kids in the room the kidnapped Strawhats got to? I get the feeling this arc is gonna be fun.

Just read the latest chapter and I can come to only one logical conclusion. Oda has been smoking some pretty strong shit lately.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

Despite the news the other day, we still managed to get chapters today Kudos to the other teams for get scanlations out even if it's sometimes the English didn't quite flow sometimes (I used Mangareader). I knew someone would be pick up the scanlation work but I expected it take a few weeks.

Anyway, what a chapter!

Oda is a genius! Was hilarious when Sanji and Franky were playing around with the samurai's head hahahah

ALSO. FREAKING CENTAUR! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Brook was also affected by the gas, although probably to a lesser degree than the others.  Maybe the masked guys don't realize the skeleton is not dead.

Seems like Brook wasn't capture, but his services were not required. Franky was sufficient.

Bring on next week please.

This cutting power though, does seem like something Law could do...but I dno...

It appears a combo of pirates have been to this island- educated guess is Law, slight random guess is Bonney.

well we know we're dealing with a shichibukai, so to me that leaves either Buggy which is unlikely, or Law whose powers make the most since.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

I beg to differ with the Law assumption. Whenever Law has performed his Room ability it's been more like pulling the limbs off of an action figure and putting them on another action figure. Buggy on the other hand cuts himself into neat, little slices which is exactly how the samurai's head was found. What with Buggy getting the official WG messenger bat I've seen enough evidence to believe he's the shichibukai in this case.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

Sok's got a good point about Law but then, Buggy's power only affected himself right? He's a paramecia - Luffy can't turn things rubber...so there must be some WG thing in play (Vegapunk at it again?) or there has been some serious powering up during the timeskip. This then doesn't completely discredit the Law theory as he may have powered up enough to do so.

I personally don't think it's Law even if he is what springs to mind first. I agree that it looks more like Buggy's Bara Bara abilities but then why is it the Samurai that's all in pieces?

Of course Oda will give us answers, and it'll probs be something we don't expect but yeah..

CRAP! Completely forgot about this guy! Haaaaa. But didn't Blackbeard give up his shichibukai status? Didn't he want it to get close to Whitebeard?

Hm...yeah these theories don't explain the talking legs hahaha, unless those legs don't belong to the head and actually have a mouth grafted on by whoever cut these guys up?

Also, when I first saw the legs running off I thought that a mythological chinese monster from the stories I heard as a kid...this monster was made up of two separate monsters, both with similar appearances except one had bigger arms and smaller legs and the other had bigger legs and small arms. The two could combine into one big monster...something like that anyway, no idea what's it's called if I even remember it properly hahah but yeah, the severed lower half reminded me of that...

(It's really bugging me that I can't think of the name of find the name online =____=)

true, but that doesn't mean people wouldn't still think of him as one, or something like that.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

The samurai said he was "cut", which doesn't seem to fit Buggy; he sometimes uses knives, but more as thrown projectiles than "slicing people up" weapons.  I don't remember seeing him use it, but I know Law carries a sword, which could potentially apply his powers to a finer degree than the action-figure style limb-popping.  While Buggy's powers could have somehow been applied to the samurai, that doesn't explain the way his legs seem to "stick" to surfaces.

As a sidenote, Usopp seems to have seen a harpy, which along with the dragon would suggest this is some kind of mythical creature island, so who knows what kind of other crazy things might be at work here.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

Also, if I recall correctly, when Law uses Shambles, the severed parts are not in communication with each other. For example, when he cut that Marine's head off, while the parts were all still alive and able to move, they didn't seem to be able to receive signals from the head. While I'm sure that the part's wanted to be put back together and all seemed to be a part of the same mind, once they were severed, they each became in independent entity. And with the power of a Devil Fruit being nearly infinite, who's to say that the severed parts (such as a pair of legs) wouldn't have the power to talk in some way. After all, Moria was able to give sentience to people's shadows. It's also fair to point out that we never really got a good explanation of Law's ability. Sabaody Archipelago was really just introducing the Supernova's for future issues.

We never saw him cut people with his sword like the Wano samurai. It was always whole pieces. Wolfwood is right about transferring paramecia powers to others though. I'm even more confused now.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

Back on Sabaody, we did see Law using his sword to slice people up in his "room", and furthermore, he was able to stick different parts together.
Now, two years later, I think his "room" size must have increased dramatically.

I believe that Buggy's powers are limited to his body only.  If it were to be transferred, or to affect someone else's body, wouldn't that be like giving anyone devil fruit powers?

Also, who's to say the samurai and  the legs are the same person?

I can't explain how the legs talk though...

All i recall was a frenzy of limbs and body parts, where noone had any idea what was going on.

I stand corrected. I knew Law had a sword, but I always remembered whole limbs coming off. I hope Law isn't behind this.

The wooden sandals make me think that they're probably his legs.  It's worth noting, though (but the shift in translation groups between chapters makes it hard to be sure), that the head didn't seem to have that same "buh" at the end of his sentences, like the leg did.

Re: The latest One Piece MANGA thread (SPOILERS)

I'd like to issue a word of caution and worry- altho there are some sites still showing OP scanlations, it's getting to be fewer.  While I know Viz sent K-F a warning in the past only related to the linking to their website, I fear a C+D letter is not far off.  I hope it isn't the case.

Damn, MangaFox got served. They took all their content off their site. I hope Viz realizes they're pissing people off more than they're increasing their sales.
