The woman smiled in her sleep when he touched her ears, it tickling her and feeling good.
She stirred slightly, before rising slowly, only to find herself being carried to a shed.
She was confused at why she was, for she had been shunned all her life.
She looked up at him and decided to enquire further.
Her fanged mouth opened a bit to speak, but she relised how cold it was when she shivered violently.
She forgot about her arm and tryed to move it winceing in pain.
She tugged on his sleeve and asked him,
"C-can w-w-we get in-nside pl-ea-ea-se?"
She moved her hands to her cloak, which was sloppily thrown around her, and put it over her head with her one useful arm.
She felt heavier than usual , because of her wet clothes and hair, and decided to just relax for a moment.
Then, her nose wrinkled and she let out a loud sneeze.

“Not again” Complained the large man. Here he was, stranded outside... Again. For the fifth night in a row. Everybody was so darn judgmental. “So WHAT if I have a devil fruit ability? That doesn’t mean I’m a pirate... ah well, at least it’s nice out”. And then it began to rain.


The large man trudged down the wet streets with a cloak thrown over his head to protect him from the rain. As he turned a corner, he heard what sounded like a body hitting the ground and a distinctly feminine cry of pain. As he approached the scene, he saw a small stain of blood being slowly washed away by the rain, and a shadowed figure carrying away what appeared to be a body. The man chased after them, and finally catching up to the figure near a shack, called out: “Unhand that Damsel, Fiend, or I shall cut you down where you stand”!

The woman looked back and forth between the men, wrinkling her nose in confusion.
Then the words of the big man sunk in, and realising that she definatly looked like a damsel in distress she got angry.
She bent down a little and bit the man holding her, making her fall on the ground roughly.
She rubbed her backside with her hand and stood up carefully looking pissed off, minding her arm though.
She definatly looked scary in the rain with black locks covering her face and looking like a beast.
She bent down to retrieve something from her ankle, which was a dagger which she held out defensively, ready to make her point clear.
"If you havent noticed already big guy, I aint no human girl needing to be saved. I'm a monster..."
She said coldly and charged at him with the dagger, only to find that the big guy was there one moment , and not the next.
She suddenly without time to blink had multiple things happen at once.
The dagger was kicked from her hand, and her broken arm was grabbed as she was slammed to the ground, pinned.
"Oh shit...."
Ling murmured as he knew that had to hurt.
The woman let out a blood curtling scream before passing out again.
Her arm seemed to swell more and became purple almost, confusing the big man.

The fox bit Ling.
Ling dropped the beast and rubbed his wound while watching the fox-lady struggle to her feet. Something flashed at the fox-girl's ankle. He was shocked to see the girl reach for a dagger, and instinctively reached inside his dark, soaking jacket. The injured girl stood up, yelled at the dark lump of a man, and charged forth, dagger unsheathed.

Then, in a split second, the dagger was flying in the air and the fox-lady slammed hard into the ground.
"What the hell..." Ling's voice trailed off. He heard a shriek and watched the fox collapse for a second time.
Her arm is broken... Why the hell did she attack someone?
Ling saw the status of the arm and knew if it was damaged any further, it would be beyond repair. His doctor's oath could never allow this. Without a second though, he rushed towards the bloody fox, hand still within his jacket.

Ling stopped short and saw the big lump rise upon the girl.

“You there, the tall guy, what happened to her?"
Ling didn't like his attitude, and shook his head. What happened to her?? Didn't you just take her out??

“Alright, you there, tall one, let’s use this shack for shelter.” the lump continued.
Ling looked at the big man scornfully. Who the hell is he, giving orders like this? He approached the girl and the man and looked at the man.

"Move." Lingshou said with high distaste, and once again carried the fox to his shelter.

Ling's shed has 3 small rooms. 2 contained old twin size beds and one room was bolted shut and labeled 'FORBIDDEN'. Presently, Ling was with the girl in the forbidden room and the 2 others sat in the narrow hall waiting. The girl was placed on a small cot, her dreams violently twisting her body. Ling had strapped down her arms to avoid further injury. He mixed two clear liquids together and extracted this home-made anesthesia with a needle. The room smelt of rubbing alcohol and sweat.

After injecting a bit into the girl's arm, Ling put away the needle and began to wrap the arm with a warm cloth. The girl moaned a bit. Ling talked to himself, "The cloth will soon harden and your arm will heal in a few days..."

This is the first time in years he has felt a connection with someone else. His doctor's instinct did not allow anyone to suffer physical pain. Physical pain... Ling knew that this girl, whatever she was, suffered from more than a broken arm.

Ling finished wrapping and stepped out of the room, his patient shaking in her sleep behind him.

Allen had no idea why exactly he had called the boy "lad" becuase he appeared to be older than himself. "I suppose it seemed like a good idea at the time" Allen thought to himself. anyways, it was getting stuffy in the room, and the short guy was getting impatient, what with calling for the doctor and whatnot. Allen had the vaguest feeling that the doctor guy didn't like him much, but some people were just like that. Having decided that this tension was rather ridiculous, allen spoke. " You patch her up, okay, doc? She looked pretty rough". Although Allen had only recently met this young woman, he kinda wanted her to pull through, being a fellow devil fruit user and all. Mildly annoyed that he really couldn't do anything but wait at the moment, Allen sat down on the floor and turned up the volume on the music in his head and prepared to wait for the docter.

Spike took a step back and said, "My name is Spike Lancer" he turned around and sat beside the large man again, "I guess i can't go in?"
The docter shook his head.
"Anyways, i suspect that, she has eaten a devil's fruit, most likely the zoan type." Said Spike. "how is she?"
"that's exactly what i was going to say" said the large man.
"I expect that she is fine, She is sleeping, and her arm is just a litle fractured." Replied the Docter.
"Good." Said Spike relaxing his shoulders a bit. "Now you guys have to introduce yourselves"

"Lingshou, doctor."

Ling decided to hide that the girl's arm was close to unrecoverable. You can thank my bone regrowth formula later he thought.

"Devil fruit?"

Ling was not so much knowledgeable about devil fruits, but he did know that zoans were the ones that could change into animals.

"I heard about zoans before. I guess that makes sense." He remembered the fox's human appearance. "There was a rumor that a man ate a reindeer fruit in my home of Drum Island. People gathered to hunt this beast all the time." Ling grinned at the memory of his home. "But that was all before..." His voice trailed and he became reticent.

Presently he continued to study his glass of water.

A noise sounded in his Forbidden room.

She thought for a moment her head down.
'Should I give them my name? what if they turn me in to the marines!'
She looked up, with anger in her eyes.
"You're just going to send me to the marines!"
She scanned the others features, then, a tiresome look went across as she slid to the floor, knees poised in front of her.
Quickley though she returned to glaring a t them.
"Its all people want to do."

“Turn her into the marines…?” Allen muttered to himself. “Just how high a bounty does she have to be THIS worried about the marines?” Allen could only speculate, but he figured that it must be over 20,000,000… “Anyways”, he thought, “I can’t let a lady in distress go without help… even if she doesn’t want it”. Allen turned down his music and strode over to where the lady was and offered a hand “You want hand up”? Asked Allen. It was quickly smacked away, much to Allen’s annoyance. “Geez, I don’t suppose you could be a bit more considerate”. A cold glare was all he received in return. “Pinglou-“ allen started. “It’s LINGSHOU” growled the docter “Whatever. Shouldn’t she be getting some rest”?  “Much as I hate to agree with that idiot, you do need rest”. Said Lingshou. “So, what’re you gonna do, lady, stay here, or go back out into that storm?”

The fox struggled to get up, but fell.

Ling looked at the big guy named Allen.
"Go get some sleep. Take the empty room."

Ling now sat at his desk, the girl strewn across the floor. She had broken the leather straps of his now flipped-over cot, and managed to rip off her cast. He and the girl remained silent. He placed the glass of water on his desk and put in some drops of a black solution. He watched as the black drops slowly permeated the fresh water, making odd shapes until all of the water turned black. He put the glass on a burner to boil.

Ling realized that the girl was staring at him the whole time.
"Do you want your arm to heal?" the girl remained reticent.
"If you don't, its fine. Less work for me." the girl lowered her head.

A thought struck Ling.
"If your a zoan..." the fox-girl looked up. "Shouldn't you be able to control what you turn into?"

After Kiara had applied the cream, Allen turned to go to the room he was directed to, he realized something. Allen stopped for a moment, and then turned around. “I’ve seen you before…” Allen murmured “You’re that spy that’s being hunted by the marines! You’ve got a 70, 000,000 bounty on your head! No wonder you were scared of being turned in... you’re one of the biggest marks on the sea right now!” Kiara had a frightened look on her face, Lingshou looked shocked, and Spike gave a startled yell from the other room. “Well”, said Allen “I’d never think of turning someone in. I just saw your bounty poster in the last tavern I played at, that’s all”. “Hmmmmm… maybe I shouldn’t have blurted that out in front of these two guys… That doctor character looks kinda dodgy”. “So the question I hafta ask is this: What’s a spy like you doing in a run-down dirty town like this one”?
