anyone know the exact date for it airing?  i havent seen any advertising on cartoon network or nothing

Yeah I think that's what Funimation and CN were going for, but then CN had to put in those movie specials and Naruto marathons really throwing off their Target date. So now it's looking like September. In any case, at Otakon, Funi said they only had about 5 episodes done, even though they could air them now, once a week and slowly add to the episode count as they air, it gives them more time to have more episodes ready.

They're not starting at episode 1, but id o think they'll eventaully dub it for the dvd's, etc.  They're starting on episode umm.. jaya/skypeia arc.

Hey guys, not that I like bursting bubbles or anything but I thought I'd inform everyone.  I just looked on Cartoon Network's website.  They're starting One Piece from the beginning.  Although it doesn't say what time it's going to be on... not that anyone here would want to watch anyway >.<  So, um, sorry for the news.

Well, someone who was at the panel revealed who Travis is voicing. (it was removed from the video cause the girl idiotically thought the guy would "get fired" due to her video)

He's voicing Ace.

If it's starting from the first episode, then it's 4kids. Funimation can't dub from the first episode until 2009. That's when the license for that batch of episodes ends. Funimation starts from the first episode of the Jaya arc.

Have to agree with you Law, once I heard that "I'm gonna be king of the pirates" thing my heart  jumped. I hope they can make the voices fit to the roles when they are really seriously doing it. I just don't see anime & english together. Maybe because I've seen those lousy DBZ/4kids versions..
I can see everyone else but luffy & sanji working, I'm just so into original voices so I might be dramatizing a bit too much.

I dont expect voice clones of the japanese actors. The only thing I look for is "Does the voice match the character?" If it does, I'm happy. I really don't like it when people put subs on so high a pedestal that they never give the dub edition a fair shake or refuse to buy DVD's because the english version is on it or some other BS reason.

No, 4Kids finished Rainbow Mist, and Cartoon Network wants to air ALL of the 4kids episodes before getting to FUNi's.

So we have to wait a couple months, since every other week there's a Naruto Marathon and the rest of the time they usually just air one episode.
