Chivalry, Honor, Justice. These are the qualities of the men and women who strive against oppression in this great age of piracy. They are marines, destined to battle the forces of those who would choose to do evil on the high seas. They stand tall and proud, even when staring death in the eyes. They are the champions of good, and whose only goal is the betterment of our world, and this is their story.
Cue instrumental hard rock.
A group picture of all the characters appears, all of them standing before a marine ship. The picture then enlarges to full screen, and the characters begin to walk up the gangplank onto the ship. . The camera pans around to the other side of the ship, and you see the clear marine markings as well as the title “Wakecutter” above the Word “Marine”. There is a lull in the music as the camera then pans around to the back of the ship, where Quinn is lazily peeling an apple with a pocket knife. The camera then shifts around to where, several feet away, Thomas is busy filling syringes with a sickly green fluid. A camera pan to a few more feet away shows Captain Randolph Steering the ship, with a large smile across his face. The Camera makes its way down a set of stairs to the center of the ship, where Alex is doing pushups with Mira sitting on top of him, absentmindedly Doodling on his bare back with a feather pen. Jeth is up against the ship’s mast, sharpening his Flamberge with a whetstone, eternal pose strapped to his hand. At the helm of the ship sits Sera, with a pair of binoculars and her pistols, taking shots at seagulls.
The music stops for a moment, and a cannonball comes crashing through the ships railing, all the crew draws their weapons, and turn their heads towards the oncoming threat. The music picks up again, at a much faster pace, as a pirate ships draws up next to the characters’ ship. The characters leap from the deck of their ship over the pirate’s vessel, and the camera does a similar leap. Once the lens comes up, you see Captain Randolph slashing his swords at a large group of pirates, several falling with each swing of his swords. The camera then points at Sera, who is gunning down pirates left and right, and then moves on to Alex, who tears up a sizeable piece of the Pirate ship’s deck, and throws it at a group of 4 pirates. Mira comes into focus then, and is going toe to toe with a pair of sword wielding pirates using only her bare hands. The camera pans over to Quinn, who is tossing his opponents into one another after blocking their attacks. Another camera pan brings us To Jeth, who is slicing pirate after pirate with his honed Flamberge. Captain Randolph strikes down the last pirate with a mighty sword blow, and the group stands victorious, in a V formation with Randolph in the middle. The scene freezes, and appears to be a picture again. Two figures stand above them, one, the visage of Lee F. Greens, the other, a figure dressed in a Red pirate’s coat and hat with his back facing the screen. The words “ABSOLUTE JUSTICE” are hammered onto the screen, and below that, the subscript: “Justice will always prevail”
Click Clack Click Clack Click Clack go the well polished boots of Vice Admiral Lee F. Greens. He walking down a long, barren corridor, and finally reaches a set of double doors at the end. He opens them, and proceeds into the room. There is a large table there, with 8 seats. He sits down at the head of the table, and checks his watch. 11:51 he muses to himself. They should all be here within 9 minutes. Lee cracked a small smile as the double doors opened and revealed the first of his hand selected crew.

A teenage girl looked at the man at the table as she entered the room. She smiled sweetly and sat down at the table.
"Vice Admiral Lee Greens? I am Sera Cross," the girl said. "I have been trained by the marines to be an assassin and sharpshooter." She paused. "Oh!" she exclaimed, taking a small pistol from her shirt and laying it on the table. "No concealed weapons, my apologies." She again flashed a nervous smile. "Oh, and..." she began, but broke off as she drew a short silver sword from somewhere and laid it on the table next to her pistol. "Sorry." Her usual smile returned and she continued. "You had a request for a gunner, did you not?"
The vice admiral nodded slowly. "Yeah..."
Sera's smile widened. "Good, I did come to the right place." She giggled softly.
"Why are you wanting to join this crew, Miss Cross?" the Lee asked, slightly annoyed.
"Why? Well, I'm a marine, for one." Sera's giggle became a laugh. "Besides, why wouldn't I? This place is boring, at least on the sea there's something to do!"
Lee grunted, not quite satisfied. "I've heard you're a very good shot. Show me." He took a coin from his pocket. "See if you can hit this in the air," he said, flipping the coin from his fingers. Sera giggled again, picking up her two weapons from the table. She fired off two shots and threw the sword. Clink! Clink! Thunk! The vice admiral turned around, shocked to see a coin with a hole dead in the center, hung on the wall by Sera's sword.
Sera's face became a childlike grin. "Good enough, vice-admiral?" she asked.
"Uh... huh..." Lee stared at the coin for another couple of seconds before turning his gaze back to Sera. Maybe I underestimated her... at first glance, she's nothing but an immature girl... but that accuracy is unnatural... "Okay, you have some skill..."
Sera flipped her hair back. "Some?" Her childish grin had vanished; in its place was an exaggeratedly sweet smile.
The vice admiral stared at her for a second before quickly diverting his eyes, avoiding the girl's charm. "Eh... okay, your skills are impressive. But tell me this, Sera Cross-" he started, as Sera's smile went back to normal. "Who are you- really?"
Sera sighed. "Kay. My name is Sera Cross. I am nineteen, and I was originally trained by the marines to be the perfect assassin-" She paused and sighed. "-though the project was scrapped and I left the marines, only to return a year later. I became a sharpshooter, and as time passed I became far better than my instructor." She smiled sweetly, grinning at Lee's reaction. "Though my charm still works, I see." She laughed. "That's it, sir."
"..." The vice admiral was silent for a moment. "I see. So your childlike personality- that's just an act?"
Sera brushed her hair back and grinned mischievously, looking away. "I wonder?"
Lee was getting irritated. "Enough, Miss Cross. Be serious, or this interview is over!"
Sera frowned. "I was serious. You asked me to tell you about myself, and I did."
"But you're acting like a child!"
"So would you if you were missing the first thirteen years of your life." Sera said quietly, standing and retrieving her shortsword from the wall, leaving the Lee stunned for a moment.
"What!?"
Sera sighed and looked at the floor. "The project to create the perfect assassin- it involved wiping my memory. It's as if I never lived the first thirteen years of my life."
Lee stared back at the odd girl for a moment before replying. "I'm... sorry," he said finally.
"Don't worry about it," Sera responded, already her usual childlike self again. "So am I in or not?"
The vice admiral paused, thinking. After a full thirty seconds. he nodded. "Yes, Miss Cross, you're in."
Sera smiled back at him one last time and left the room, closing the doors behind her.

Randolph Daunty sighed loudly at the two giggling young marine recruits who were shyly staring at him at the far left corner of the hallway. The few words which had reached his ears, turned out, unsurprisingly, to be either “Cross-Dresser” or “Famous dress guy”. Though being the target of many rather unfortunate and for years, constantly evolving, jokes which had made his name balance between the line of famous and infamous, Randolph tried not to get too bothered.
Randolph took another deep breath and turned his hazel eyes towards the recruits. He knew he had exactly 9 minutes left, and at least 1 or 2 of them he intended to spend on the well-being of the new generation.
As he closed up, the recruits swiftly raised their right hands in the appropriate marine salute and managed to feverishly exclaim: “Captain!” before Randolph grinned at them and beckoned their hands down. By the distressed expressions they wore, it seemed as if they were worried Randolph might have overheard their conversation and came over to either punish them or dismiss them from their positions. No, that was not how Randolph Daunty handled things.
”Proud recruits of the Marine, once upon a time I had the same position as you have now. Though washing the floors and toilets of a Marine base might not seem to giving…It will make you understand some important things for your later careers.” Randolph spoke in a high-pitched voice which seemed to dazzle the young recruits before him.
“And though the Marines might not always seem to appreciate your hard work and your spirit, we do, and we expect much from you in the years to come. Just remember…you are the next generation, and our fates will fall upon you soon enough.”
The glees in the faces of the boys were interrupted by joyous laughter from the corner. “You cannot possibly understand how similar you and your uncle are…It was as if I was watching a scene from the past unfold here.”
Randolph recognized the voice almost instantly and turned around to salute a superior he knew from the past; Lee F. Green, Vice-Admiral. When the salutations were finished, Randolph was beckoned inside the room and sat down on one of the 8 seats inside the room. Though he held a nearly expressionless face, Randolph’s mind moved around the fact that a Vice-Admiral had been summoned to handpick a crew for this unknown mission. Something was amiss.
“Let’s be totally honest now…I know they’re considering giving you a promotion.” Randolph gasped, but settled quickly to the cough of the Vice-Admiral who continued with a slightly more concerned voice: “I also know that I still owe your uncle a favour…and I intend to fulfil that favour as soon as possible. Therefore…I wonder if you could lead a small team of men and women, especially picked for this mission.” Vice Admiral Green looked as if he was in a distant memory for a split-second, and returned with a laughter which echoed through the room. “Hey, I remember that crazy combat method you and your uncle spent a lot of time to develop…tell me, could I see it again?”
Randolph forced a slight smile and curtly bowed towards the Vice-Admiral, turning away in the direction of the other corner of the room. Then, with utter care he raised his two shining, large swords up and moved himself into a combat position.
Without warning Randolph swung the two swords and from that point on, the Vice-Admiral caught nothing but a glimpse from what was going on; the swift, yet destructive sword-style lived up to its reputation.
When the clouds of dust and the movements lifted, there were several small holes in the floor, making it seem as if a large gun had been fired towards the surface. Randolph smiled, a little embarrassed and exclaimed hastily: “Take that from next months salary, okey?”
‘The Berserker’s Soul, huh?’ Lee thought and jumped up, shaking Randolph’s hand, whispering:
“Randolph Daunty, you will be in charge of tracking down and capturing the escaped convicts of Marine prison SWGG-17. You will have very short time to get to know your crew, so please proceed with making your crew a real team as soon as possible.”
Randolph saluted and looked down at his armour as some forgotten nerves started to surface.

Jeth opened the door and entered the room. He grabbed his cap and turned it around. In the room, he saw a Marine Captain saluting a Vice Admiral. Vice Admiral Lee F. Greens turned away from Captain Randolph and toward Jeth.
“Hello…” Lee F. Greens said.
“Er, I am Jeth Rownan. I would like to be a part of the crew you are hand selecting…sir,” Jeth said with a salute that Lee returned.
Lee sat down; he motioned for Jeth to do the same. Randolph sat down at the other end of the table.
After Jeth sat down, Lee asked, “So, what is your profession?”
“Navigator,” Jeth said swiftly and crossed his arms and put them on the table, his Log Pose showing.
“How good a navigator? How long have you sailed?”
“Since I have been a Marine, I trained as a navigator, and was almost at the top of my class when training was over,” Jeth answered, and suppressed a yawn. This was getting boring.
Lee thought for a few seconds, and asked, “What is your rank?”
“Lieutenant Junior Grade.”
“Hmm…I would expect someone who passed the Marine navigation classes as high as you did would be a bit higher in rank.”
When Jeth remained silent, Lee said, “Navigation is all fine and good, but before I decide whether or not I should accept you, can you fight? From appearances alone, I would say you look more like a fighter than a navigator.”
Jeth sat up straighter and a slight smile came to his face. “You’d be right. I can fight better than I can navigate.”
Lee’s eyebrows raised, “The why did you train as a Navigator if you can fight better? Not to be rude but, wouldn’t it have made more sense to train as a fighter?”
“Well, the way I see it is that I won’t need to navigate if my crew battles pirates, so I can jump in and fight, then get back to navigating when the fight is over,” Jeth said without hesitance.
Lee nodded. “Well, when you put it that way, it makes sense. I suppose. Well, you should know what this crew is for. There has been a mass prison break in Marine Base SWGG-17. Half the Marines stationed there were killed.”
“All on the same day?” Jeth asked suddenly. He noticed the Vice Admirals expression and said, “…What a tragedy.”
“Indeed,” Lee agreed. He thought it odd, the way Jeth said that, it was as if he didn’t mind them dying at all, but was concerned with something else. Lee decided to dismiss it and explained, “You will be navigating the ship that will capture these escaped pirates and put them to justice. You captain will be Randolph Daunty-” Lee motioned to the man at the end of the table, “-and…I believe that is all.” Both stood up from their chairs and saluted.
While exiting the room, Jeth thought ‘put them to justice’ sounded like ‘capture them alive’. Jeth didn’t like the sound of that, but hopefully he could kill a few weaklings without getting in trouble.

“So, they put you in this operation as well?” Randolph instinctively knew the voice was addressing him. It was loud, friendly, and frighteningly familiar.
“Ah, Ensign Albrecht,” Vice Admiral Greens turned to the door, a friendly smile on his face to greet the newcomer. “I wasn’t aware that Randolph and you were acquainted with one another.”
Albrecht…. Randolph’s heart suddenly kicked into high-gear as that flight-or-fight response told him to run: and fast!
“Oh yeah, we go way back, right, ‘Captain’ Randolph?” The large man stopped beside the subject of his statement and clapped Randolph on the back, nearly knocking him over.
“Yeah….way back….” Randolph felt a little ill, his nerves , as he glanced sideways at his jovial assailant. Despite being a hairsbreadth shorter than Randolph, the man standing beside him was close to half again as massive, his light brown hair cut short and his hazel eyes burning with a fiery passion that Randolph knew meant trouble. “….so, Alex….how long has it been…?” Oh god, please, please, please let this be some sort of joke!
“Too long, Captain.” Alex smiled broadly and then turned toward Vice Admiral Greens, saluting the superior officer and standing at attention. “Ensign Alexander Albrecht, reporting for duty, sir.”
“Yes, yes, Ensign Albrecht,” Greens waved a dismissive hand at the younger man, “You may sit down, if you like.” Grabbing a chair and flipping it around, Alex sat, arms folded across its back.
“Did you volunteer for this ‘special mission’…?” inquired Randolph, still not entirely sure himself as to what said ‘special mission’ entailed.
“Not really.” Alex shrugged, leaving Randolph feeling slightly perplexed. It must have shown, because Vice Admiral Greens interjected.
“The commanding officer of the crew to which Alex presently belongs recommended him for this particular assignment.”
“That’s pretty much how it went.” Interrupted Alex, earning him a slightly indignant glace from Greens that went completely unnoticed. Clearing his throat, the Vice Admiral continued.
“Ensign Albrecht was completely indifferent at first….”
“But once I heard that I might get to tangle with some really dangerous pirates, I was in, gung-ho!” The larger man gave Randolph and Greens a huge grin and a big thumbs-up. Greens glared in response: Randolph simply chuckled nervously, beads of sweat beginning to form on his brow.
“I believe that should suffice,” Greens turned to Randolph, his expression changing from one of ire to concern. “Are you alright, Randolph? You look rather pale.”
“It’s nothing. Nothing at all.” The captain sighed to himself, Alex grinning the whole time.

BAM!
"Dammit... this ain't the exit either." Growled Mira annoyed slowly lowering the leg she used to kick the double doors open.
"S-sorry Vice Admiral Lee F. Greens, Captain Randolph! We tried to stop her b-but she..." stuttered a young marine behind her saluting the two men inside the room.
"Please accept our apologies, well take care of her now!" Yelled another marine who just arrived at the scene. The soft clicking sounds that came next told Mira that there were currently two guns being pointed directly at her head. Suddenly feeling even more annoyed she sighed just before disappearing right before their eyes. Next thing they knew she was standing right behind them. "Cheh, too easy..." She whispered.
"What the-?!"Said the first marine before his instincts told him to turn around and shoot. He tried to grab his gun then suddenly realised it was no longer in his hands.
"Looking for these?" Mira grinned enjoying the look of horror on their faces as they both suddenly felt the tips of their own guns against the back of their heads.
"I think that's about enough Recruit Mira Price." Said a voice from inside the room she had just barged into. "God, I heard you were a hand full but honestly don't you think terrorising those two is going a little too far?"
She looked at the the idiots in front of her and saw them both whimper slightly before lowering the guns in her hands. "Well they started it..." She finally said walking into the room curious as to how the person inside knew her name.
She looked at the man sitting at the head of the table then stared at the other sitting nearby wearing a dress.
"Oh my, no wonder the room was guarded. Didn't mean to interrupt your... uh special time together." She said with a sly smile.
"Wha- No! NO! Wait do you have any idea who your talking to?" Said Randolph shocked at the gutsy recruit before him. He'd had it bad at times but for a recruit to suggest such a thing and to say it so openly directly at a vice admiral and a captain... is she insane?
"Nope don't know, don't care..." She said sitting on one of the chairs before her and throwing her legs on to the table. "But since you know who I am I suppose you can tell me why I was dragged here and how i get out of this dump."
"Haven't you been told that you were selected to be interviewed for the crew in charge of the prison break in Marine Base SWGG-17?" Asked Greens completely ignoring her blunt rudess and previous actions.
"Didn't I decline that offer with a polite 'no way in hell' ?"
"Didn't you realise that it wasn't an offer but a direct order?"
"Can't you tell that I'm just a recruit?"
"Isn't it obvious with the skills you just displayed your not just a recruit at all?"
"Why are you recruiting me when I don't have anything to do with this at all?"
"Why are you asking so many questions?" After looking from Greens to Mira with each question like a child watching a ping pong match Randolph finally decided to stop the continues cycle.
"He started it..." Muttered Mira again looking away.
"But I'm curious too. She may have skills but shes still just a recruit."
"Information. Have you ever heard of the Purple Butterfly?"
"Vaguely, something about a thief that stole millions worth of stuff from several islands without ever leaving a single trace behind except for a purple butterfly... hasn't he been caught though?"
"Yes your looking at her." Mira didn't react to Greens words at all and just continued to stare in another direction.
"This recruit has spent a lot of quality time with quite a few of the pirates your after. She knows a lot and can be a real asset to the team." Continued Greens.
"I'm not sure where you go that information old man, but the deal was 3 years in training then I'm out." Said Mira.
"You've already completed your training, at an impressive speed i might add. Besides all of the training grounds that haven't already kicked you out have heard about you and would rather take in err... 'a pack of wild man eating beasts' is what they said i think. I'm sorry to say but you either take this interview or go to jail like your supposed to."
"Shit. Fine, lets do this interview then." Said Mira darkly.
"Good. The interview consists of a bit of background knowledge, fighting skills and suitability for the crew."
"Ahaa... " Sighed Mira finally turning to face the two men.
"And I'm sorry to say after the kind of performance you just made..." Said Greens then stopped for effect.
"Welcome to the crew." Grinned Randolph.
"Double Shit... " Sighed Mira.

Silent filled the hallway as a man in a white coat made his way through. People seemed to be stuck to the walls, not moving, hoping that the man will not notice them, fearing that they will be his next victims. The man stopped and looked around, and quiet whims of faere were heard. He went over to one of the man near the wall.
"Excuse me, do you know where vice admiral Lee's room is?"
"y-y-yes i-it's the n-n-n-next doo r to the right"
the man was stuttered in fear, his entire body was shaking and sweating. It seemed as if he was about to wet himself…
"oh you don't look so good…" said the doctor, wearing a serious expression. "Let me get a closer loot at you…" The doctor moved closer towards the poor man and touched him gently on the shoulder. The man shrilled at the doctor's touch.
"hmm… extreme sweating, shaking, and high sensitivity to irritation… the symptoms all point out to Exaphondria…"
"E-xa-pho-ndri-a?!" gasped the man in fear.
"Yes, it's a horrible disease, but luckily I have the cure with me" said the doctor as he reached towards his coat's pocket and pulled out a giant syringe with a needle the size of a pencil. "Lift up your shirt, this one goes in your stomach and I won't lie to you… this will hurt". The man infornt of him turned blue as the needle came closer and closer to him then as it was inches from his stomach he let out a loud whimpering sound and fell unconscious to the ground.
"Oh I love those guys" said the doctor, roaring with laughter and pocketing the giant syringe. He stepped over the unconscious man and continued to walk through the hallway "Next door to the right then…" he said to himself. Oh here it is" he said and opened the said door. It led him into a long corridor that had a set of double doors a tit's end with 'Lee F. Greens' written on the wall nearby.
"Yo… sorry I'm late" he said after he entered the room and gave the vice admiral a lazy salute.
"Welcome please take a sit" said the vice admiral
"Wait a minute" said Randolph his eyes expanding in an emotion that can either be interpreted as surprise or fear "Isn't this guy Thomas J. Morison" asked Randolph
"Yes" said admiral Lee
"you… you can't possibly mean…" said Randolph
"Yes" said "I called Thomas here to be the crew's doctor"
"But this guy is…" started Randolph and continued in a whisper, to not offend Tom who was no sitting in front of him "his that 'horrid doctor'. We use him to scare off recruits..."
"I know…" said Lee "But, when on field mission he shows great spirit and is one of the best marine field doctors in this base"
"oh I see" said Randolph and gave Thomas a suspicions look
"Yeah I don't do that anymore" said Thomas picking his nose in boredom
"What do you mean?" asked Lee
"Well you see, I got bored of all those small time field missions where I'm not even aloud to leave the ship" said Thomas as he pulled out his finger from his nose and flicked a bugger on to the table. Both the vice admiral and the captain's eyes stayed focused on the disgusting greenish thing on the table.
"Dr Morison, as part of the marines you cannot refuse vice admiral's direct order" said Lee in calm but threatening way.
"Don't worry" said Thomas pulling out another bugger "I'm not refusing the order, I'm just saying, don't expect the great field doctor on this mission,
instead, you should expect the 'Horrid Doctor'".
Randolph gulped as he heard Tom say these words but Lee remained calm.
"Just know Dr Morison, that this I not a small scale mission. You will be part of a crew that will be in charge of tracking down the escaped prisoners from SWGG-17"
"oh" said Thomas "This sounds interesting., maybe I will put some effort to it, but tell me, will I be allowed to go off the ship?"
"I think so yeah" said Randolph
"Then I'm in! I'll show you the great field doctor Thomas J. Morison!" said and straitened in his seat, this mission brought excitement that he has not felt in a long time.
"Good, then welcome to the crew"

Quinn staggered down the hallway, still a bit more than half asleep. Why the hell is Greens getting me up so early? And on a Wednesday no less! Everyone knows I like to sleep in a bit on Wednesday! I guess there’s just no helping that man. Finally wiping the last bits of sleep out of his eyes, he approached the double doors, and opened them. “QUINN!” the vice admiral Roared, swiftly getting up out of his seat. The others in the room, a captain wearing a set of odd armor and a heavily muscled man that didn’t look too bright, a sneaky looking girl, and... That “horrible doctor” (Quinn could never remember his name) were startled. Quinn sighed and rolled his eyes. It was like this every time Greens saw him, always with the roaring, and the crippling bear hugs, and the flaunting of praise, and let’s-not-forget the oh-so-dirty looks of his fellow officers. Apparently skipping the bear hug, the Vice Admiral went directly for the kill. “This, Captain Daunty, Ensign Albrecht, is my protégé, Quinn. Quinn, would you introduce yourself?” Giving an inaudible sigh, Quinn fired off his name and rank. “Quinn Ridell. That’s Quinn with two ‘N’s, and Ridell with two ‘L’s, I’m a marine commander, and a subordinate of Vice Admiral Green. Now, sir, could you PLEASE tell me why I’m here?
“Well, m’boy,” Vice admiral Greens cleared his throat. “You’re here on my behest, to participate in a mission of the utmost importance. You are to go with Captain Randolph’s crew, who you see before you, save 2 personnel, to neutralize the threat of pirates escaped from the marine prison base SWGG-17. You will be shipping out in approximately one hour, aboard the marine battleship ‘Tempest’. Do you have any questions?” Quinn looked horrified. “B-but, captain! You know that I’m off active duty right now! What possible motivation could you have to send me on this mission?” “My boy,” replied Vice admiral Lee, “My motivation, is that I have faith in your abilities. And that goes not just for commander Quinn here, but for all of you in this room. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to round up our two absentees.” Lee removed a small Den-Den Mushi from his coat pocket, and fired off some orders into it. In several minutes, both Jeth and Sera had arrived, and taken their seats. Sera was visible miffed by her summons, by Jeth seemed to be as composed as ever.
“All-right, now that everyone is here, we can begin with your mission briefing.” Pulling out a dossier, the Vice admiral removed from it eight sheets of paper. Keeping a copy for himself, he handed out a page to each person. “Now, if you’ll take a moment to read this, you’ll be enlightened as to the circumstances of the mission.” Randolph raised his hand, and voiced his question. “Sir, from the way this memo reads, it seems as though you’re sending us after Marcus Graynor and William Walker... Sir, if I may be so bold, that’s insane. The first time that Walker was captured, it took the forces of 5 captains to subdue him. And Graynor... they say he killed 100 men in the battle to capture him. We can’t possibly contend with such strong pirate captains. This is a suicide mission! ”
Greens merely sighed, and shook his head. “And there is where you are wrong, Captain Randolph. For this mission, you are authorized to use lethal force against each and every member of Walker and Graynor’s crews, including the two captains. They have already escaped from justice once, they will never do so again. You are all dismissed for the next hour, in which time I hope you pack up your necessities, and prepare for a long voyage. Your next destination is the east blue isle of Garona. If all goes according to schedule, you will arrive in 19 days. Good luck with your mission, marines.” And with a salute, Vice admiral Lee F. Greens left the room.

As everyone watched Greens leave the room, Mira took half a second to inspect the room. Without moving her eyes she counted how many possible exits they were to the room and calculated the time it would take to get to the two windows, the double door or the air vent. She then calculated the distance from every person to her and took into account all the visible weapons and strength levels as well. Finally she scanned the room looking for anything she could use as a possible weapon and anything worth stealing. Knowing her surroundings, being couscous even with her so called nakama and having a definite escape route were all habits she’d picked up during her thieving days; however she hadn’t used any of those skills for almost a year now. She didn’t want to admit that leaving the weaklings at the training camps to be surrounded by a crew of marines strong enough to be chosen for a mission of such high caliber made her nervous enough to resort to those old habits.
An awkward silence filled the room once Greens was gone. Randolph opened his mouth to speak but Mira beat him to it.
“Mad Walker and Graynor together huh?” Mira laughed quietly mostly to herself than to anyone else, then scrunched up the paper Greens just handed out in both of her hands and threw so that it flew across the room narrowly missing Quinn’s face by a millimeter then landing directly in the centre of the small rubbish bin behind him.
“Are you suggesting that the information in this notice is false?” Asked Sera flashing a friendly smile at Mira.
“No I’m suggesting that the information is incomplete. Those two are only half the problem and the fact that they are together proves it.” Said Mira thoughtfully taking off the hat she normally wore backwards on her head, turning it around then replacing it on her head so that it covered her eyes. The room fell into awkward silence again but this time all eyes were on Mira waiting for an explanation.
“Well aside from the obvious humongous size of their forces now that the two crews have combined, you also have to consider the fact that the captains aren’t the only strong members of the crew. I’ve heard things about a few of their men that would make most of you sleep with the light on for a few weeks. The ones worth mentioning the most are the Hiphen brothers though…” Said Mira.
“The what brothers?” Asked Alex.
“Never heard of them.” Said Quinn now eyeing Mira with suspicion and slight annoyance.
“The Hiphen brothers… The story goes that when the twin boys were about 13 they got bored of the simple farming life and decided to completely massacre their whole village. Not even the children were spared that night, and when they were done they went on to obliterate the next village until they completely wiped out the whole tiny farming island on east blue they once called home. It wasn’t until a month later that a small marine ship that passed by on rare occasions showed up, but since they were no witnesses left and the boys had already hitched a ride on a passing pirate ship marines decided to cover up the incident. They didn’t want to look bad you see.”
"Oh? A whole island? This is getting interesting." Grinned Alex.
“Oi, don’t-” Began Quinn shocked she would suggest such a thing about the marines.
“Wait, let her finish.” Said Thomas who seemed to be the only one other than Alex actually enjoying the story. “What does that have to do with us?”
“Well, the boys both fell in love with the same woman. July Hays was her name I think… anyway you know how it goes: big fight, girl ends up running away, brothers break apart to join different pirate crews…” Continued Mira.
“One with Walker and the other with Graynor…” Said Jeth who had been quiet up to that point.
“See now your getting the idea. Those two must have become friendly again in jail which could explain why two crews as powerful as theirs had joined up.” Said Mira.
“If they haven’t been a threat since the massacre when they were 13 what makes you think that they’ll be a threat now?” Asked Randolph.
“Its not like they didn’t want to go around killing thousands of people, it’s that they couldn’t. Alone those two are powerful enough to be influential enough to their captains to convince them to team up, but they aren’t strong enough to be internationally known or anything. When they’re together however they have a ferocious amount of power."
"Sounds like fighting them would be a challenge I might actually enjoy." Said Alex with an air of excitement. "Ferocious in what way?"
"They have a technique called double something, cant remember it right now…”
“Double something… Do you seriously expect us to believe any of what you just said? If it were true how would you know such a thing when even the vice admiral doesn’t?” Asked Quinn. Mira stopped for a second to look directly at Quinn, then a mischievous grin crept on her face.
“No I don’t expect any of you to believe anything I say.” She said jumping out of the chair she was sitting on. She walked towards the double doors then stopped once she was next to Quinn. “As a matter of fact I don’t expect anything from any of you at all.” She said without looking at him. And with that she kicked the doors open and walked out.

As Mira Price left the room, Randolph fell in deep thought and consideration about the news he had just received. His first and foremost shock had walked through the door a few minutes ago. ‘Alex Albrecht, huh…That name brings back memories, both good and bad…’ Before he could grumble further on the topic however, another person, with a name even more infamous to his ears, appeared in front of him. Thomas J. Morison stared at Randolph, undoubtedly getting a closer look at the infamous reason of Randolph’s abysmal nickname.
“Vice-Admiral Green must have considered your skills as…the Horrid Doctor crucial for our team, but nevertheless do I expect capable doctor skills from you whenever anyone is in danger. Is that understood?”
Though slightly dazzled by the ongoing events, Randolph spoke in a voice which held authority. He would not accept casualties on his team, even if they were to fight such infamous pirates as William Walker and Marcus Graynor.
The doctor nodded and looked slightly annoyed as Randolph whispered: “Both you and I know that reputations are swiftly turned by unimportant things…” after looking down at his golden armour, he continued: “And I expect you to be the great field doctor you just said you were.”
Randolph shook the hand of the somewhat puzzled doctor, and continued towards Mr. Jeth Rownan, Miss Sera Cross, Commander Quinn Ridell and Alex, who he tried to slightly avoid a conversation with, who were all ready to leave the room.
Randolph coughed and curtly smiled towards the men and woman who stood ready to begin the mission. He always enjoyed a swift introduction before leading a group of people, and though the level of the mission seemed rather high, he wouldn’t make an exception.
”Could I have a swift word, fellow Marines?” he began, watching as they nodded or beckoned him to continue, also rather curtly, and continued:
“Even though I hardly know any of you,” he tried to avoid Alex’ stare, “I would like to say a few words about how I wish for our team to proceed….For we are in fact, a team, and we all need to act as a team. Therefore, please refrain from selfish or dangerous actions, and try, at least, to become a reliable team where we all depend on each others success. I am thrilled to be working with such excellent Marines like you, and I’m sure we will get along through the dangerous mission which lies ahead.”
As expected, they didn’t find his speech too interesting, and probably thought it was a procedure which those of Captain Rank had to endure. Randolph forced a friendly smile, thanked them for their time, and decided it was high time to get his bags and prepare for the journey to come.
As he strode out the door, a last thought surfaced a few nerves:
“I truly hope Alex has changed since those days…because I will not tolerate casualties.”

Jeth folded the orders and put them in his pocket. Guessing it was time to go, he got up and left, not saying a word. In a few minutes, he had his few possessions gathered from the ship he arrived here with. He looked to where the ‘Tempest’ was docked and saw the battleship, but instead Jeth walked back to the base and through the expansive hallways until he found the room he was looking for. Jeth entered the room, which was almost filled with filing cabinets, each with numbers from thousands to millions. He looked around and walked toward the cabinets marked 30,000,000-59,999,999 and began searching through them. Soon enough, he had what he was looking for. He took copies of the wanted posters of William Walker and Marcus Graynor and put them in his pocket with his orders. After all, you can’t hunt someone down if you don’t know what he looks like.
Moments later, Jeth was looking up at the battleship that was the ‘Tempest’. He began to walk up the boarding platform, but was stopped by a Marine.
“Sorry sir, only authorized personnel are allowed to board,” he said.
“I am authorized,” Jeth said angrily, glaring at him. “I’m the navigator chosen by Vice Admiral Lee F. Greens. Now get out of my way before I take this to your superior officers,” Jeth threatened, still glaring.
“Uh, n-no need to do th-that sir, g-go right ahead,” the Marine stuttered, and raised a trembling salute, which Jeth did not return.
Jeth boarded the battleship and went below decks, into the navigation room. There were various maps, hanging around the room. A large table sat in the middle, with various tools for drawing maps and charting courses. Jeth stowed his things in one of the corners and took one of the maps (which was of the East Blue and the part of the Grand Line where the Marine HQ was) and flattened it out on the table. He found and marked Garona in the weakest of seas and did the same for Marine HQ in the Grand Line. Jeth took up a pen and began charting the course. With some work, Jeth might be able to shorten the time of arrival. He knew he wouldn’t like waiting for 19 days, listening and hoping for executions.

After the captain's speech, Tom got up quickly and left the room. He could not remember the last time he was excited like this, it was like a dream coming true, Hunting down dangerous pirates, sailing the seas, not to mention actually getting off the ship and exploring mysterious islands. This was the grand scale mission he was looking for all of his life, finally a chance to go out on real adventure. He strolled down the hallways of the marine base, barely noticing the frightened eyes staring at him from near the walls. He was excited, and as he made his way towards his clinic his mind was completely focused on the adventure to come. 'The captain told me he expects capable doctor's skills from me when someone's in danger… well that doesn’t mean I can't have some fun as well, being the only doctor on the ship holds so many possibilities…'.
Tom has now reached his clinic. He pulled out a brown shoulder bag with a red cross painted on its side and started filling it with various drugs, carefully choosing the ones he'll need to help the crew and the ones he'll need for his jokes. "hmm…" he said to himself while holding a small pack of women hormones 'If I sneak these to the cross-dresser captain, he'll voice will get higher and he'll probably grow…' Tom stopped here and giggled as he pictured the effect in his mind. 'this might be going a little too far… well, I'll take it just in case' he smiled to himself and threw the hormones into the bag. "er… who else was there?" he mumbled, staring at the many bottles in his medicine cabinet, trying to remember the people in the crew and find the worst possible thing to give them. 'well never-mind, when I'll know them better, I'll think of something' he thought to himself and shouldered his brown medicine bag. "Now for the serious stuff" he mumbled to himself again, he left the clinic and went across the hall to the medical lab. There he packed another bag with all the lab gear he thought he'll need in the upcoming mission. 'I wonder if the they have a centrifuge on the ship… I better take this one anyway' he thought and looked at the machine in front of him. It was rotating wooden disk, with holes fit for test tubes, that was connected by various gears and chains to a bicycle mechanism in a way that paddling the bicycle will rotate the disk. 'this seems heavy, I better get some help'.
Shortly afterward Tom reached the ‘Tempest’ with three young doctors who were carrying the centrifuge for him.
"This is the ship, get it on board" ordered Tom
"Are you sure this is ok Morison sensei?" asked one of the doctors panting and sweating from carrying the heavy machine across the base.
"Yes, I was authorized to take any equipment needed on this mission" said Tom in a
serious voice
"But it's the only centrifuge in the lab, we need it for testing and making medicine" said another young doctor "there are hundreds of patients who-"
"I'll need to make some medicine as well" interrupted Tom 'argh, I hate those young doctors' he thought to himself 'they never had a sense of humor and they were always thinking about helping as many people as possible. So annoying….
Tom stared at the young doctor with a rather annoyed look, "If you don't want to be my ginnie pig I suggest you get my centrifuge on board"

Sera Cross giggled as the captain finished his speech and turned to leave the room. Fifteen minutes later, she arrived at the Tempest's gangplank. She began to walk up it, but was stopped by the same Marine who had stopped Jeth.
"Halt! Only those with authorization are allowed past here," he said.
Sera smiled playfully and laughed, leaning her head towards him. "Is that so, sir?" she asked, winking and emphasizing the last word.
"Y- yes," stuttered the Marine, trying to keep himself sounding official.
"You don't sound so sure~" Sera grinned.
"S- stop it! N- no unauthorized p- personnel may b- board!" the Marine responded.
Sera's childlike smile came across her face as the man's attempts to resist her charm failed. "However, I am authorized~ I am the gunner for this ship." She paused. "However, you may want to work on that 'iron will' of yours, sir- you couldn't even keep a teenage girl off the ship~"
The Marine's face went blank as Sera passed him on the way up to the ship. Sera laughed to herself as she explored the ship. Hehe, that was too easy... maybe my new crewmates will be more fun~

She must be the devil's child.... The marine recruit sighed loudly as the impish little girl walked up the gangplank to the Tempest. A very large shadow blotted out the sun without warning, and the lowly marine recruit slowly turned around, ready for the next assault on his dignity and sanity.
"Yo" A very large man stood before the gangplank, a polite smile on his face.
"Au-authorized personnel on...."
"Not a problem." The large man gave a genuine smile and held out a small bundle of papers held together by a paperclip; the topmost sheet was a writ of order signed and sealed by Vice Admiral Greens himself.
The marine recruit sighed in relief this time and had to fight back his tears of joy. At least someone here has a proper respect for the importance of procedure! He spoke up: "Ensign Albrecht, Alexander. All seems to be in order here. You may board the ship now, sir." The marine gave a brief salute and then stepped out of the way to allow Alex on-board but he didn't move. Instead, Alex hurled his rucksack up over the side of the boat and stood in place, head down and eyes closed as if in concentration.
".....Sir...?" The marine recruit reached out a hand toward Alex, only to jump back in surprise as the larger man dropped down into a crouching position and then sprang into the air after his luggage. Jaw agape, the marine recruit stared in awe as Alex caught the top of the ships rail and pulled himself aboard in a single motion. After a moment, the marine turned back to his guard duty and shrugged. At least he was polite....
Jeth, Tom, and Sera looked at Alex with a mix of surprise and amusement as he vaulted over the railing and onto the deck of the ship. Looking around as if assessing the quality of his new home, Alex nodded in approval. "This looks good. Real good." He spoke to no one inparticular. Picking up his rucksack, Alex passed by Tom and Jeth, giving each a friendly nod and a 'Yo' by way of greeting. Jeth gave a curt nod and Tom managed a 'Yo' himself in reply. Sera sat across the deck on the rail, wondering if she should take him seriously or not.
Taking one last look around, Alex went below deck in search of his quarters.

The smells and sights and flavors of a hopping kitchen were myriad and ever changing. Especially in the kitchens of a marine base, where many different people of many different cultures and many different food traditions... come, gather around... and eat whatever the cook makes.
That's what the case was at this base. The cooking crew was led by a young, stubborn... culinary genius.
In fact, he picked his cigarette out of his mouth, pointed at the door with the two fingers that held it and shook his head.
"Recruit! If you're not a cook... get out of my kitchen!" The young man says. His name... is Taro Yurasaki. And he was good at what he did.
"Ssssorry sir. It's a summons from Vice Admiral Greenes..." the cowed girl says... backing away. Taro put his cigarette back between his lips... took a long drag, the end burning brightly... before exhaling a blue wreath of smoke.
"Why didn't you say?" He turns to one of his subordinates... "Handle the kitchen for now. I got a meeting apparently." With that, he removes his apron, opens his jacket... and heads to wherever this Vice Admiral Greens is...
(I'm running Taro as still an ensign, but having advanced to the leadership of the kitchen. Based on... ability, rather then seniority...)
As he walked down to the meeting place, he continued to smoke his cigarette down to the butt, then chain lighted the next one. He had that down to the half way mark when he finally met with the Vice Admiral.
"So... you're the big wig that asked for me?" Taro asked, finishing his cigarette and lighting up another. The vice admiral nodded.
"There's an expedition to one of the prisons... we'll need a cook. I hear your the best in 500 miles."
Taro shrugged.
"Well... I don't like to brag, but I am pretty damn good. What's it to you?"
"Isn't it obvious? How would you like to get out of base duty and serve aboard a ship?"
"Sir? You mean... head cook on a ship?" Taro was a little wide eyed. The Vice Admiral nodded.
"I mean exactly that."
"Well... I'd be crazy not to. Just lemme set aside who's the head of the kitchen... pack my things... and I'll be at that ship soon enough." With that... he got up... clicked his heels and saluted the admiral, before heading back to the kitchen. He had things to do.
Ten minutes later, he was at the ship... foot locker under arm... apron within the steel box. His knives were at his waist... a cigarette cheerfully burning between his lips.
"Time to see the world for real this time..." Taro Yurasaki says to himself... as he makes the first step in his first real journey.

Quinn Lazily sauntered down the hallway by his room. He was exhausted already, and it was hardly past noon. Opening the door to his room, Quinn stepped in. It was a rather interesting room, considering that it was at marine headquarters. Several cheesecake posters adorned his walls, right next to a couple of bounty posters that had X’s across the face and “Quinn Rules” stenciled on the wall next to them. A smallish bookshelf contained a menagerie of reading material from thick novels to sports magazines. Quinn went over to his desk, which was sitting in the corner, and took a large stack of papers and various pens and pencils from it. Dumping them all in a backpack, Quinn took down his favorite cheesecake picture, a nice looking girl in a VERY non-regulation marine uniform, and rolling it up carefully, put that in his backpack too. A couple of books, an extra pair of shoes, 6 pairs of shorts, 7 shirts, and 5 pairs of socks later, he was ready to go.
By the time Quinn was in sight of the ship, the support crews were making their final pre-launch preparations. It seemed like everyone was busy except for Quinn, and he didn’t mind at all. Walking up the gangplank, he encountered that big guy who kind of grated on his nerves. With a big goofy smile and a “Yo”, he walked past him, onto the ship. As soon as Quinn was aboard, he scoped out what he knew from experience was the best place to take a nap on a ship, the crow’s nest. Using his sticky abilities to spider-climb up the mast, he positioned himself so that his cap was shading his eyes from the sun. With pleasant thoughts of finishing the mission and finally scoring a lady friend with all of his adventuring, he dozed off.
While Vice admiral Greens could not be present for the ship’s launch, it went as smoothly as possible. The crew of the ship finally settled down, doing only the jobs necessary to keep the ship headed in the right direction, and afloat. They passed through the Gates of Justice making good time, and then made it out to open ocean, after passing Enies Lobby. Within an hour, they were already out of sight of the Gates. In five days, they had almost made it halfway out of the grand line. In 6 more, they had made it through the calm belt and into east blue. During this time, the crew was in high spirits. Due to Jeth’s navigating, they were making incredible progress. Within another 5 days, they would make it to Garona. But, first things first. They needed some supplies, and the closest port was Lougetown, So, on the 11th day, they docked at the famous city. By the Time Quinn woke up that day, everyone else had entered town, leaving the ship with a few guards. He made his way into town, hoping for a decent time, and perhaps, a little adventure.

Offline
Once in Lougetown... Taro and his kitchen crew exited the ship. "Alright... you all got a list of groceries, right?" Each one nodded in unison. "Excellent. Well... get goin. We need to resupply and the crew needs healthful, balanced meals."
With that... they mostly went their seperate ways.
"What about you sir?" The one that didn't go asked.
"Me? Well... as the head cook of the ship, I personally cook for the officers. I need to find the perfect ingredients for the recipies I have planned. We'll all meet in the kitchen and start cookin' when we get back, yeah?" With that, the other cook nodded and went on her merry way... leaving Taro to go shopping.
A few hours later... the five man crew were in the kitchen cooking up a storm, none more then Taro. He even dug into his own pockets to make a decent stock of wine.
Oh yeah, he had to cook up plenty for the officers. Two women, four men, one ranking officer. And himself of course.
First things first though... he had to dress two chickens, two ducks, and a rather large yellowfin tuna he bought.
Besides that... almonds needed to be slivered, raspberries made into a sauce, bread crumbed... and... yeah. He had a lot of work to do.
He nodded curtly... closed up his jacket... tied on his apron... lit up a cigarette... and then... the action started for real!

Loguetown was hardly any less prejudiced than the average Marine ensign; the glees and laughs which kept on following Randolph were starting to become slightly annoying.
The blazing sun and the fresh breeze however, made this day to one Randolph could enjoy and spend to seek this city of its hidden treasures and its interesting small bars where you could listen to gossip or jokes all day long.
Judging from how he was having a hard time starting a friendly, decent conversation with any of the Marines chosen for the mission, he was left to search the town of its qualities with his own company. It did not matter him, but was slightly worried to see how diverse the crew was; for some time he had suspected the Vice-Admiral for having put a totally random group of people together, but he finally came to conclusion that everyone had skills they would need towards the end.
Randolph threw a coin in the air and caught it as a breeze passed him and continued towards the main street; the coin gently landed upon his palm, and the imprint appeared to show that it was heads. ‘Heh…guess that means I’ll have to play investigator first and spare the shopping for later.’ He thought and gave away an obvious grin which made the old chaps at the other side of the street laugh even merrier.
After a walk around, he finally found it, “The Broken Skull”, the meeting place of both scoundrels and other people who would normally have news of any pirate activity. Luckily, to avoid any unfortunate problems, Randolph knew the barkeeper and asked him to point out the people who could hold the most interesting information.
The first guy, amusingly holding his hood down, almost as if was some kind of agent himself, began their conversation with a: “Some day, the world as we know it, will fall into chaos. Only the strong will survive…”
The rest however, was total rubbish, exploring everything from an organization which was seeking World Domination and dangerous pirates who were on the verge of a miracle; foolish rubble.
Tired of the smell of the bar, and especially this senile man and his stories, Randolph told a bit more than intended:
“Old man, any news of Mad William Walker or Graynor? Answer swiftly.”
The old man looked puzzled and without any warning, he started cackling with madness in his eyes, and answered:
“Beware of poisons and the unseen when you encounter Mad William Walker…Before you can react, you might be anticipated and your group will fall in pain. Beware of…the Hunter”
Randolph sighed and curtly walked out of the bar but certainly memorized the words he had been told; there was truth in the old man’s mad tortured eyes.
From there, Randolph followed the main road, and entered a shop he had become rather accustomed to visiting while he was around; the “Exotic Loguetown” was one of those places where you could find absolutely everything, and once in a while a rare item might show up. And it didn’t take longer than a second after the shopkeeper had greeted Randolph that he laid his eyes on some shiny sheaths which certainly were more stylish than the current sheaths he held.
Eagerly, smiling, Randolph took the two sheaths and went to the counter to ask for a price:
“How much for these wonderful sheaths?”
The shopkeeper noticed the Captain jacket, and started muttering something which sounded like “100”, but before he could continue, Randolph placed a lot more money than he had asked for, and left the shop with a smile.
The sheaths had pearls on the lower and upper corners, and had artistic marks on them which could also have been mistaken for gems; however, Randolph’s happiness over the sheaths swiftly passed as a youngster before him started yelling: “Hey, hey, the Cross-Dresser bought some new girly stuff!”
Randolph turned around and started walking back to the ship.

'...just look at the way shes sitting Henry!'
'...Who let her in here?...'
'...That woman has no shame!...'
The soft murmurs of upper class snobs spread throughout the restaurant but could barely be heard by Mira. She left her marine cap and jacket on the ship so to everyone around her she was the girl that showed up to a posh ballroom restaurant wearing lower class clothes, the girl who ordered a table for five but sat by herself with her feet stretched on the table, and the girl who ordered enough food for 10 but didn't finish a single plate. She tilted the chair back so it balanced on one leg and began mentally checking off the things she'd already stolen... er sorry... bought from the list of things she intended to get during the stopover.
'...Are you the manager here? Do you know who we are? My husband and I are from the Celtrik family and are very respectable members of the community!'
'I know ma'am but please calm down.'
'I will NOT calm down until that atrocity is gone from this restaurant! How can we eat with someone like h-'
BUUURRRP!!! 'Oh my bad!' Said Mira raising one hand in apology as the room fell silent and all jaws dropped.
'That's it! Henry pay the bill we're leaving!'
'Yes my dear, right away.'
'Hurry up Henry I want to leave.'
'Oh my! Darling this is embarrassing but I think I've been robbed!'
'Your wallets right there Henry!'
'Yes b-but it's empty.'
'God Henry! For gods sake I'll pay then... WHA- WHAT!! My purse is empty too.'
Mira jumped to her feet and threw a wad of cash on the table as three more waiters stopped what they were doing and hurried over to the couple that was causing the ruckus. By the time she left the two Celtriks were surrounded by skinny men in tuxes.
'How dare you accuse us of trying to eat and run!!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO WE ARE!?'
Mira struggled with the weight of the many stuffed shopping bags she held in each hand. That Celtrik family really must be something. Even after all that shopping she still had quite a bit of cash left over from the amount she stole... err borrowed from them earlier that day. Finally after several hours of shopping she had a satisfied smile and headed back to the ship taking a small detour through the backstreets of Lougetown. She passed a few broken down houses and several dark alleys avoiding contact with the many drunken men and the many prostitutes that wondered around until she finally found what she was looking for. Five young children playing with a baseball sized bouncing ball. She watched for a while, then when the ball came near enough she grabbed it before any of the children could.
'Oi! Give it back!' Yelled the oldest looking one.
'Back? I dont want to.' Said Mira bouncing the ball once then catching it again.
'Nii san!! Do something!' Cried one of the younger ones. The older boy walked up to Mira with cold eyes.
'Wow calm down. Ok how about this.' said Mira reaching into her pocket and pulling out all the money she had left over. 'How about I buy it from you?'
'Dont bullshit us!' Yelled the older one staring at the money. 'Why don't you buy your own ball?'
'Because I want this one.' She said sticking her tongue out at him. With that she put the money in the pocket of the younger crying boy and patted him on the head once before picking up her bags and heading to the ship.

Jeth walks through the alleyways of Lougetown. Jeth hadn’t heard of an execution today yet, just recaps from yesterday, so he was in a foul mood. Jeth scanned the alleyways, making sure there wasn’t any danger before passing through. Jeth’s eyes widened when he saw a person’s elbow sticking out from behind a fallen trashcan. Jeth guessed that his friend was nearby. It retracted once Jeth spotted it, coincidence probably. He cocked his head to the side and walked forward toward him, or them. Sure enough, two men jumped out from behind the can and a gap in the wall of an abandoned building. One wielded a sword and the other held a dagger. “You can guess what we want,” the taller man with blond hair said cockily.
“To get out of the way before I arrest you? If so, you’re not nearly as dumb as you look,” Jeth replied in his typical monotone voice.
The shorter one with the dagger and a haircut that looked like it was done with the same dagger. “You should watch your mouth, we’re armed, you ain’t-“
“And you obviously didn’t care to bother and find out if I was or not,” Jeth stated, putting his hand on the hilt of Skullshatter.
The short one gulped audibly and yelled, “You said e’ wasn’t armed!” He chucked his dagger at Jeth, turned and fled. Jeth moved to dodge the dagger, but it hit the wall, short of him. He drew Skullshatter and grabbed it with his other hand. The swordsman rushed at Jeth screaming and slashing wildly. Jeth blocked the awkward strike and pushed forward, pinning the novice swordsman.
He dropped his sword and begged, “Please don’t kill me! I have a family.”
“You first mistake was not surrounding me. Your second, you two are terrible fighters. The third, you pissed me off at the wrong time,” Jeth growled.
“P-please no! My daughter will miss me!”
“You disgust me. If you got any money off of me, you’d spend it on alcohol. You smell of it… She’s better off without a father like you,” Jeth drew back his sword.
The man's face twisted as if he tried to scream, but he didn’t make a sound. Jeth heard the man’s blood drip to the ground…
***
Jeth quickly headed back to the ‘Tempest’. He hoped he was there before the body was found. Jeth cleaned the blood off the blade, but couldn’t think of another way to throw off any suspicion off him, if any, other than that he was a Marine. He began to head up the gangplank back to the ship, and he heard a city guard yell to him, “Hey!”
Jeth stopped and turned halfway toward him. “Yes…?” He asked in a bored voice.
“Have you seen anyone suspicious around? There was a murder recently, and we are looking for the killer,” the guard explained.
Jeth scratched his head and said, “Nope.”
“Oh, sorry for bothering you sir,” the guard said, but Jeth was already heading back to the ‘Tempest’. Once inside, he grinned. He figured most other people would be on the floor, laughing uncontrollably right now. The grin went away quickly. Was I smiling because I killed him, or that the guard was clueless? Jeth thought. He shook his head and told himself he didn't like murder, again and again. He put his hand on his head and walked into his room, his good mood gone, and for a different reason.

Tom walked around in the streets of Loguetwon with a smile on his face and a brown bag at his hand. He was in a great mood, it was the first time in years that he got out of the Grand Line, and the first time he actually went on an island that was not in it. Thomas already finished buying his supplies and he was now just sightseeing at the town. The main attraction of Loguetown was of course the fact that Gold Roger was born and executed here. So, Thomas looked Gold Roger's birth place, but after finding s least five different locations he gave up on finding it and went to the town square to see the place of his execution.
"It's high" said Tom, while standing beneath the tall execution platform.
'This is the place where the pirate king died' he thought to himself as he stared at the platform with an expression of pure awe, but after a few seconds he changed his expression to a bored one and walked away.
"I'm hungry…"
A few moments later he was eating the so called 'island special' at a nearby restaurant. He was still at his good mood, eating peacefully, enjoying the unique taste of the fish from this foreign ocean. But soon his good mood disappeared.
"Doctor! Doctor! Is there a doctor here!?" a hysterical woman's voice pierced though his ears. The woman was standing at the middle of the restaurant, screaming out for a doctor as a man behind her was holding both his hands to his neck and making choking sounds.
Tom gave a very deep sigh, got up and walked slowly towards the choking man, with both hands in his white coat's pockets.
"You’re a Doctor!" said the hysterical woman in a relived voice as tom was standing near her, looking at the man choke in boredom.
"What gave me away?" he said, smiling at the woman cheerfully. "Is it the white coat? or the fact that I stepped up when you called for one?"
"He's choking!" cried the young woman in fear, not listening to Tom and looking at him in anticipation.
"Yeah, I can see that"
"Well, do something already!"
"Why? Isn't it pretty, how his changing colors and such" said Tom and smiled towards the woman, who in return sent him a horrified look.
"Ok, Ok" said Tom and launched a well aimed kick to the chocking man's upper stomach. A piece of meat shot out of the man's mouth, and he fell to the floor and started coughing.
"ah I hit the diaphragm" said Tom, with an expression of slight surprise.
The man on the floor now stopped coughing. He got up, with the help of the woman and both at stared Tom with a very angry expression.
"Your welcomed" he said cheerfully.
"I could've died! " shouted the man but before he could continued, Tom stopped him by placing his hand on the mans shoulder.
"Yes you could have" he said in a serious voice. Then he gave a big smirk and said "But I saved your life, and because it ruined my launch, I expect you to pay for it"
The man looked at Tom confusion, and before he could answer him. Tom was outside, walking towards the 'Tempest'
'ahh, What a fine day… He though and smiled to himself

It had been some time since Alex had seen any action. Three months had passed since his return to marine base and those three months had been boring as hell. Actually, probably more boring than hell, depending on your take on the place. Now that the crew had docked in Loguetown, Alex figured it was time to get back into the swing of things with some good old-fashion practice.
The seediest, most run-down part of Loguetown. Trash filled the shallow gutters lining the street, while narrow alleyways housed garbage of a different kind. Making no effort to hide his status as a member of the marines, Alex strolled through the streets confidently, despite the looks he received, ranging from suspicion to outright hostility. That's right.... it was difficult for Alex to hide his enthusiasm. I see you over there. Alex walked past one of the many narrow city corridors, a young man, perhaps not even twenty, stood just within the shadows, speaking with two other men whose features remaind obscure. Not more than five minutes ago, the young man had spied Alex from a similar alley and then run-off.
Alex felt his heart begin to race and gleamed with excitement as the three men stepped out into the near empty street and began to follow him. When four other men stepped in front of his path, he grinned.
"So what brings a marine down to our part of town?" One of the four men stood apart from the others, wearing a gaudy but rather expensive looking long coat. Each hand bedecked with several gold rings of modest worth, he carried himself with an air of authority. This was obviously the leader of this particular gang.
"Actually, I'm looking for you." Alex made sure to place enough emphasis on the word, causing the gang leader pause for a moment. "Well, not you in particular, just some of your kind."
"What the hell does that mean?" The gang leader frowned and crossed his arms casually. Alex could hear the three young men behind him spread out and begin to approach. He was certain of it now: if the oldest of three was more than twenty years of age, Alex would have been shocked. Frowning deeply, his eyes narrowed, his attention turning entirely to the leader of these youths.
"A lone marine walking through this part of town, even one as intimidating as myself." There was more than a hint of vanity in Alex' voice as he made this last remark. "Any third-rate thug with a bounty to his name wouldn't be able to pass up a chance like that." Alex smiled coolly. "But since I don't recognize any of you minnows, you have two choices: either you can walk away right now or I can drag your unconscious body to the local marines."
"You have to be kidding...." The gang leader laughed incredulously, not the least bit intimidated by Alex' threat. "The Purple Dragons run from no enemy, least of all a pathetic marine foolish enough to enter our turf alone." Making a dismissive gesture toward Alex, the gang leader turned around as if to walk away while his underlings charged Alex.
This is too easy. Taking a deep breath, Alex dropped backward, surprising two of the thugs behind him as he was suddenly past their guard and within striking range. Throwing his arms to the side, he caught both in their faces with the backs of his fists. Without a moment of hesitation, Alex dropped down and swept the ground behind him with a powerful kick. The youth had enough time to register a look of shock and fear upon his face before falling to the ground, the wind knocked out of him. The other three potential attackers paused in mid-charge, no longer confident of victory. Their leader turned, his expression betraying more anger and surprise than alarm.
"What are you standing there for?!" He shouted. "Just kill him!" The three men looked from their leader to Alex and each drew a rather large knife from the folds of their ratty, purple coats. They charged, eliciting a sigh from Alex.
"I really had been hoping for more of a challenge...." Alex stepped backward and out of range as the first thug swiped at his chest, snapping his leg forward in one fluid motion. The kick caught his opponent underneath the jaw, snapping his head back and sending him crashing into one of his partners in a cloud of dust. The remaining thug turned to look at his friends, returning his attention to Alex just in time to see the man's fist collide with his face.
Calmly stepping forward, Alex brushed the dirt from his coat and pants before raising his gaze to lock eyes with the stunned and now quite concerned leader.
“Is this the best the Purple Dragons can muster?” Smirking, Alex bent down, grabbing the only remaining thug by the back of his coat as he struggled to climb out from underneath his unconscious friend. The young man began blabbering in fear, looking desperately to his leader for help – or at least orders. But neither help nor orders were forthcoming. The leader of the Purple Dragon gang turned and fled.
“They always have to make it hard on themselves, don’t they?” Sighing, Alex hurled the gang member at his own leader. His throw was on target and the two bodies fell to the dusty road. Turning around, Alex walked over to the young boy who had originally trailed him and alerted his gang, who even now struggled to his feet in panic as his victim turned victor approached.
“Just how old are you?” Alex lifted the boy off the ground by the back of his collar so as to look him in the eye.
“I-I’m seventeen….” the youth managed to stutter in reply. He was thoroughly convinced that his life was over as he knew it, and wondered why the marine had asked him such an odd question.
“Orphan?”
“No, I have a m-mother and father….” The boy was seemingly growing less terrified, if only because his confusion was growing.
“Well, this is your lucky day, then.” The boy stumbled and nearly fell, as Alex let go of his collar. “I’m not going to turn you in to the marine base here in Loguetown.” The boy’s eyes widened in shock and relief as Alex continued. “Your parents are probably worried sick about you. Go home.” He then looked at his other assailants, most of whom were starting regain consciousness, though most would be nursing their injuries for the next week or two. “Tell your friends the same applies to them.” Alex nodded curtly in the direction of prone bodies.
It was not until several minutes later after Alex had already turned away that the boy finally recovered from his shock. Hurriedly, he helped the nearest of his former friends from the ground and quickly intimated that they should leave with all due haste.
Approaching the body of the Purple Dragon’s fallen leader, Alex placed a foot on the body laying atop his and rolled it off the gang leader. Reaching down, he removed the purple coat from off his captive and tied it around the man’s waist, then proceeded to heft the criminal’s body over his shoulder. Alex took a moment to turn and survey his handiwork before heading off in the direction of the local jail.
Not a great fight…. He thought to himself with disappointment, Though the outcome was definitely satisfying. Smiling to himself, Alex walked the now abandoned road.

Sera stepped onto the dock and proceeded to walk through the town, looking for something to do. She headed for the more run-down areas of Loguetown, guessing that more fun would exist there than in the main streets. She was right. Several rough-looking youths quickly came from various sidestreets and alleyways and surrounded her.
"What're ya doin' here?" asked one behind her, who appeared to be the oldest and probably the leader.
Sera laughed. "Whatever I want," she answered, without turning around.
The boy did not find Sera's answer funny. "Shut up. What're ya actually doin' here?"
Sera turned and looked at the boy with a playful smile. "I was looking for some fun. Do you know where I could find that?"
The boy snapped. "SHUT UP!" He grabbed a knife from his belt and whipped it at Sera.
Sera laughed and drew her pistol. She fired at the knife, knocking it from the air. "Won't work." Sera smiled.
"That's it- kill her!" the boy shouted to his comrades. Sera winked at the boy and sank into the ground as the rushing gang members were nearly next to her. The group collided, falling to the ground and looking quite confused. A moment later, Sera rose in front of the leader, who's face quickly shifted from anger to terror.
Sera's playful grin returned. "What's the matter, boy? You look like you've seen a ghost..."
The youth screamed and fled as Sera turned back to the rest of the gang.
"I suggest you leave... quickly..." Sera smiled and turned back towards the ship, having had her 'fun'.

Quinn was staggered by the sheer size of Loguetown. Marine base was big… but this was so much bigger. After wandering around for an hour or so, Quinn decided to find a place to have some lunch. Stumbling upon a local Bar and Grill that looked like it had decent food, Quinn reached into his pocket for money, and discovered to his annoyance that he had forgot his money on the ship. Sighing, He removed a harmonica from his jacket pocket, took off his cap, set it down on the side walk in front of his, and began to play. It was a lively tune, and it soon drew a small crowd. Upon finishing, He bowed, then held out his hat to catch the Berri given to him for his performance. Two songs later, he had enough money to buy the finest lunch at the restaurant, something Quinn fully intended to do.
Quinn was seated immediately. He supposed the marine Officer’s uniform helped with that, but that was beside the point. He ordered the Grill’s best seafood platter, and it was brought it soon enough. As he was easting, an argument heated up over in the table across from him. Quinn grabbed his seafood platter and moved his seat back just in time for a man to be thrown bodily into his table. Chewing on a particularly tough piece of calamari, Quinn strolled over to where there was a large man laughing with several other restaurant goers. Gazing at a list of bounty posters, he saw the large man’s picture right over a 3 million berri reward. He came up behind the man, grabbed the back of his head, and slammed it into his table. “It’s not polite to throw other people’s weight around, and it’s also kind of stupid, because somebody else might be more impolite than you are.” With this, Quinn picked up and pitched the man hard into a wall, with the sickly crunch of ribs following. Quinn moved up to the bar, with all eyes on the restaurant turned towards him. “OY! Ossan!” The bartender came up to him, with an exasperated look on his face. “You young marine whippersnappers, always causing trouble around here. I should kick you out of my restaurant this very minute.” Quinn shrugged. “If you want me to take him in, fine, then nobody gets a reward. But if, say, YOU were to take him in, you’d make 3 million pretty easy. That’d clean up everything and then some. Take your time, I’m gonna be here until I finish that delicious seafood platter.”
Quinn left as the authorities arrived, and made his way back to the ship. It was getting on towards late afternoon, and he was getting tired. Going up the gangplank, Quinn was surprised to see that all of his fellow “pirate slayers” were aboard as well. He gave a quick wave, which was only returned by the big, tall, slightly dumb looking one. By mid-evening, the ship had set sail, towards Garona, and towards Marcus Graynor And William Walker.

That night... the crew were in the mess, eagerly chowing down on the food made for them all day that was fresh from Lougetown.
In the officer's dining room... the eight officers of the vessel were sitting around the elegantly set table.
"Alright..." Taro says, pushing a cart in laden with trays and trays of food. "in celebration of getting some new supplies, I have made a feast worthy of the finest palate." And he picked up the first tray... placed it in front of the captain and whipped off the cover. "For the captain... Coq au Vin! Over egg noodles." He goes and pours a glass of wine. "Served with the same pinot noir as used in the dish."
He went and placed two trays infront of the women. "For the more delicate palate of the women... I have pan fried duck breast and green beans almodine!" He whipped off the cover. "And a glass of White Merlot for the both you." Wine was then poured into glasses. He moved to the men.
"And finally... pan seared beef medallions, wrapped in bacon and served with garlic mashed potatoes." Covers were whipped off in succession. "And they are served with shiraz. Bon appetit."
