Something was bothering me about chapter 25.
Akiyama said they would limit the amount of time that Fukunaga would have to get suspicious to just the last four turns. But what if Nao were to draw the Joker joker-side up in those last few turns. Then it would go back into the bag and Fukunaga would have more time to figure it out. There's no way that he could be sure that Nao would draw the Joker joker-side down each time at the end. So it just kind of bothered me that in the chapter it looks like he's accounted for everything, but then this possibility was completely ignored.

YEah, I was thinking that too. Guess the author forgot why the odds of the joker were 2:1 when he thought that one up.
EDIT: Just read 26. I understand how Nao did that, but 70,000,000 yen, times seven people is 490,000,000. I thought she only had 40,000,000, plus the 100,000,000 from the game so only 140,000,000? Where did the extra 350,000,000 yen come from?

I bet the rest of the money owed by Nao will be negated by people trying to buy votes in order to stay in the game. That way she can use the money to pay off the rest of the players that she fooled, as well as advance in the next round. But that's just my two cents worth.

Ok to explain the trick with the notch on the side of the card. When she went in to grab the card the notch is on the right hand side of the card if its face down so she would feel it with her index finger if the grabbed it and it was face down. Now if she grabbed it and she felt the notch on her thumb she would realise its joker side up and just turn it over before pulling it out.
And ya the whole reason she bought all those votes (70 at 70M yen so 490M yen) is because now she has total and complete control of the game. Theres only 1 round of voting left so the max all the players could get for votes is 45 and they need 50 to stay in for the next round and not have a 100M yen debt. So she now has an extra 30 votes to sell at whichever price she chooses and will be guaranteed to reap a bigger profit then the expenses she spent on her votes. The M tickets just say that you would be spending money for a trade or whatnot. It never says anywhere that you acctually need that money to spend it. It would just get added onto your debt. (This calculation is taken with the exeption of the cross dresser.) So with an extra 350M in debt if you include the 140M she made the other 2 rounds, to break even she would need to sell each vote for 11.6M yen but since it will probably be sold by bundles of 4 (since thats all they need if they continue with the same voting that they did the previous 9 rounds) it would total 46.6M a bundle. If she sells them for 100M a bundle that would make 7.5 bundles and total a wopping 750M yen thus doubling her loss margin and giving her 400M total at the end! Thats 260M more then she had going in!

one problem with your card theory, she didn't mark the joker, she marked the double sided card.

Akiyama sold all of Nao's votes on extremely high prices. Therefore in the end Nao is gonna lose the game, but she wont only have enough to drop out, but also make a profit(which I doubt she'll keep). I loved how Akiyama made everyone his little puppets, and now they're trembling in fear of being last, while he has taken all their money^.

Actually he is only selling the extra 30 votes as it only takes 50 to win.
Nao will go through to the next round and with a lot of money. (Unless she gives it all back afterwards.)

Which, knowing Nao, she will.

Yah. I hope they at least screw over Fukunaga though. If he doesn't lose then it'd be a bit rubbish.

Speaking of Fukunaga, has anyone else noticed that they still kind of make him look like a bald chick instead of guy now? Its a little odd, I thought.

new chapter is out, it's pretty good in my opinion so i'm not gonna spoil anything just yet

That newest chapter was pretty good. I still wish they punished Fukunaga some how. I have the feeling though that they Nao will "convert" him into a goody with her overwhelming honesty/niceness. (Kinda like at the end of the first game with the teacher.)

Chapters 29 and 30 are out, Round 3 is about to start.
This new game sounds kinda fun actually. Except for the whole 'playing for real money and going into debt' part that all the games have.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Except, I couldn't quite remember if he had them in the revival round and I missed it.

I don't quite understand, why is it called liar game?
Offline
because the point is to find the greatest liar, read the manga and it's painfully obvious

Another good title with the theme being "swindling swindlers" is Kurosagi. I only read a couple of chapters so far, and it's pretty good. The main difference I see between this and Liar Game is that Liar Game focuses on statistics a lot while Kurosagi focuses more on the "business" side of things.

I've began reading Kurosagi, I'm really liking it. I feel that they are overusing the word 'swindler' though, its like the guy who wrote this manga has never seen a thesaurus before.
I think I like Liars Game a little bit more, but I'm going to follow that as well, and I encourage anyone else who likes Liars Game to give it a looksee, it can be found on One Manga.
