One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

My first attempt at my own RP. This RP is set in North Blue, and starts as ex-marine Takashi ragnarok floats in on what's left of a life raft into the merchants quarter of potter's island (a small but thriving town exists there, famed for it's pottery, obviously. tongue ) So far so good, and it sounds like your average RP correct? Well, maybe not. The twist here is that Takashi is not after One Piece of any kind of nakama. He's after power, and the way he's trying to get it now is to become a shichibukai. Obviously the kind of crewmates he'll be finding won't be the most savoury characters, nor will they value comaraderie quite as much as other RPs do. This doesn't mean some of the crew-members can't be nice and good hearted people, just don't expect any warm and fuzzy moments aboard this ship. This is a pirate crew that'll be the closest anything set in the One piece universe will get to REAL priates (at least that's what I'm hoping for)
So, the expectations here are a bit different, and it may require some ingenuity creating a character that is balanced being a total villain and someone who wants to help everyone. So in this RP I'm really looking for some more experienced people, with some interesting and original characters that won't stick out like a sore thumb amongst a gang of villains. I've wittered on enough, so I'll open the floor to applications and hope I get one or two!

The Captain

Name:
Takashi Ragnarok

age:
32

Gender:
male

position:
Captain

combat relevant info:
Uses a steel halberd, which he wields like a quarter staff (most of the time). Takashi attacks and wears down his opponent using quick strikes with the blunt, bottom end of the halberd, but as the fight progresses he starts to use the bladed axe at one end in combination with quick strikes form the other. If this fails to end the battle (preferably in a lethal blow, since in order to fufill his dream Takashi need to gain a reputation for being totally merciless) then he will change his grip to take advantage of the spear, lunging with quick, lethal attacks. He also carries dynamite with him in case he needs to defeat large numbers of enemies or needs a distraction for a quick get away. Tashaki has not eaten a devil fruit... yet.

Appearence:
Short black hair, a bandolier of Dynamite running diagonally down his chest, which is partially concealed by the white officer coat of the marines he continues to wear. (this coat has had the kanji for Justice removed and the kanji for piracy: 海賊行為 put on it instead) He also wears plain black trousers along with cheap hobnail boots. His nose is quite squashed and misshapen after being broken many times.

Background:
Right from the beginning Takashi desired fame and fortune, on a global scale. Coming out of a poor North Blue family, Takashi was left wanting not just food, but attention as he competed with six other siblings for the love of his parents. Desperate for attention he would misbehave in school and start fights every day. This, combined with  constant arguing and fighting with his older brothers, hardened Tashaki and forged him into a highly resiliant and  strong young man. When he was fifteen, he started his own gang, enjoying the power that it brought. He loved the infamy and the respect, but was always careful to be on the winning side. He didn't mind fighting anyone, as long as the odds weren't stacked too highly against him.

At the age of just 18, he joined the marines, dreaming of one day ascending through the ranks of Admiral, and maybe even becoming one of the famed Gorosei! It was of course the natural path to stardom and power, being the fighter he was. Takashi had briefly considered becoming a pirate before deciding he didn't fancy going up against the World Government. Unfortunately for him, despite exceptional service and a possibility of bein fastracked to the rank of Captain, he was stuck in a dead end marine base where the chances of real promotion were zero, and the commander of the base was unwilling to let him go. Frustrated that he had spent almost thirteen years as a marine only have risen to the rank of sergeant major, Takashi looked desperately for a quicker way to fame.

For several months nothing came up, until he heard some of his crewmates mention that the Shichibukai, Sir crocodile had been defeated. Having never heard the name Shichibukai before, he asked and quickly discovered about the government comissioned warlords. This was a path to glory without restrictions and one where he was garuanteed the protection of the world Government. It appealed immensely to the ambitious and morally ambiguous marine. The only problem with it was that he would have to make himself an enemy of the power he sort to ally with before they would recognise him. It would be dangerous and risky, but Takashi decided the rewards were worth it.

for the next year Takashi concentrated his entire being on training, developing a merciless and unique combat style, knowing that to gain the reputation required to fill his dream, he would have to become a ruthless Pirate whose name struck terror in the hearts of those that heard it. He quickly abandoned the standard marine cutlass, finding that the Halberd had a much greater capaciity for inflicting pain and death.
As he trained, Tashaki waited for his opportunity to leave the marines, knowing that he would never make it on his own, and would need a ready made pirate crew. His opportunity arrived when the entire crew of a 42,000,000 beli pirate was captured in marine waters. The Captain was sent on a ship headed for the Grand line, it's eventual destination Enies Lobby, while the ship and crew were held in the marine base Takashi was stationed in. That night, he snuck down to the cells and struck a deal with all the pirates present. he would free them and give them back their ship, on the condition he was made captain. There were over 200 men in the cells that night from various pirate crews,  and the sergeant major wonthe support of all of them. In a ruthless coup, he armed the prisoners, and led the attack on the marine base form the inside. Some of Takiashi's marine comrades, equally ambitious and sly as Takashi, unhesitatingly allied themselves to the charasmatic traitor. No marine was left alive in the base, and that night, every ship in the harbour was stolen as the ramshackle crew sailed out under a blood stained marine flag.

Several months on, and Takashi's crew has dissolved to nothing, and now he finds himself with a 23,000,000 bounty on his head. (ooc: I wouldn't have given him a bounty if I wasn't forced to, but I think such trecharous actions merit it.) Mutiny carved up the crew just days after the proud fleet set off, leaving Takashi on a single ship with 50 strangers who neither trusted nor liked him, with only his superior fighting skills keeping him in charge. Eventually however, even this crew failed him, as it fell apart under a marine fleets bombardment, crew members disorganised and unsure how to react.

Not wishing to be heading through the gates of justice as the previous captain had done, Takashi quickly fled, dropping a lifeboat and rowing off before the smoke from the cannons could even clear. Now, several days later, he finds himself exhausted and without food and water, gently floating towards a certain island...

personality:
sullen and untalkative, but loyal to those prepared to help him. He keeps his dream of becoming a shichibukai close to his chest, instead proudly proclaiming he wants to become a great pirate. he has decided that he will fabricate a past, as he wants to blend in with pirates, instead of alienating them. Extremely ambitious and will unhesitatingly kill anyone who gets in his way.

Motivation:
Takashi wants to become a shichibukai, and rule the seas, with strong crewmates in the form of the other shichibukai, and the ability to plunder free of the fear of reprisal. But for him... There is always more power to be had.

The First mate

Cap'n Jefu wrote:

Here's my character. Aspiring to be the 1st Mate, arrrr.

Name: Vahn Renzo

Gender: Male

Role: First Mate

Age: 23

Combat Style: Iron Fist Martial Arts

Physical Specs
Height: 5'11''
Weight: 160 lbs
Build: thin, toned

Appearance:
Just by looking at Vahn Renzo you can tell he's a laid back guy that does what he wants. His composure: usually lightly slouched, with hands in his pockets. He's rather tall and kinda thin, but his body is toned like a fighter's.
Vahn's spikey hair is jet black and long enough to reach about chin-length when down. Its usual style being sort of messy, in that cool kind of way, with bangs over parts of his face and spikey, unintentionally, in back. A small sort of leather headband circles his skull and has an eyepatch attachment to cover his unuasble right eye; said eye once being light blue like it's other. His bangs try to cover that side of his face as it shames him to admit his defeat to anyone. Two parallel scars travel from his left cheek to his jawline.
His upper body holds a form-fitting, dark blue 3-button longsleeve (only 3 buttons from neckhole) which sleeves are a little too long and end at his thumb joints. On the back, the kanji for "FIGHT" in a 10''x10'' square on the center of his back. If you rolled up his right sleeve, you would see a tattoo of a black/white/grey flame going from his wrist to his elbow. Underneath is a simple white t-shirt.
Hips hold slim, black jeans which are in turn held up by a black leather belt. On the belt is a small rucksack able to hold essentials when travelling. And always a silver pendant which he treasures. The jeans look worn, especially at the knees. Black boots encase his feet with two solid, white lines running diagnolly from laces to soles.
His hands, from the knuckle to almost mid-forearm, are wrapped in white fighting tape that allow him to punch harder with less consequence.
((will draw at some point))

Background:
Vahn Renzo grew up an orphan on the streets of Deratone City of an island in North Blue. He suffered a harsh life through most of his childhood alone and took to thievery to get by. He despised the people of this island for being so rich and uncaring as well as whoever his parents were for leaving him here to die. He was rather cold towards humans until one day when he was caught for stealing.
Being only a child with no parents, the local authorities forced him to do labor for the nearby "Iron Fist Dojo" to repent. Of course Vahn was reluctant to do anything for the Dojo's sensei but the old man always seemed warm towards Vahn. As days passed, Vahn began opening up a little to the sensei and soon, even after the boy's "sentence" was over, he still came to visit and clean the old man's dojo. Before you knew it, Vahn had found his father figure and joined the dojo as a student.
The sensei could see that Vahn was naturally skilled in fighting, but his discipline and technique needs much work. Vahn ad had nothing else in life before this, and now: Training was his life.

Years passed and Vahn had become his sensei's best student, as well as winning competitions from all over the island. He had changed from the reluctant brat to a mellow young man. He actually enjoyed the company of people and was friendly with the people he met. He was still lazy however, and hated cleaning the dojo when asked.
By the time Vahn was 19, the sensei saw no point in letting his talent, and life, go to waste and told him to explore the world and become the world's greatest fighter. Vahn respected his words and vowed to bring his sensei honor.
The real world can be a harsh mistress, or something like that. Vahn was too naiive when he was released among the florushing world of The Pirates. Vahn's first mistake lay within the most notorious pirate-infested bar on the island where he proceeded to enter and challenge anyone who was worth anything to a fight. This, in turn, lead to an all out brawl inside and leaving many a pirate unconscious or wounded. Vahn held his own quite well but was surprised into being captured and hauled away by pirates to be sold into slavery or something outrageous.

The pirates teased and beat him mercilessly and barely kept him alive as they travelled the seas. To makes things short, Vahn seized a rare oppurtunity to escape and used it to fight the pirates and beat them all. He did so and fought with the Pirate Captain, a Cap'n Henry Tigre; who excelled in speed and clawed weapons as well as having a high bounty on his head. Again, Vahn was naiive and lost to the captain. The battle was fierce, Vahn receiving two scars on his cheek that would haunt him forever along with other bodily scars. Tigre knew the boy had potential but needed to be shown a lesson not to be so hasty and ready to throw his life away at the expense of a good fight. So he did something that the boy would never forget. He destroyed Vahn's right eye.
Tossing the boy into the sea near the next island, he left Vahn with the challenge to get his right eye back someday... if he could ever defeat him.

The villagers of the island found the boy washed up on shore and tended to all his injuries. While he recovered, Vahn decided he needed to change if he ever wished to bring honor to his sensei. And just like that, he went about life differently because nothing was more important to him than bringing honor to the man who basically brought meaning to his life.
Travelling for the next few years, Vahn had grown used to losing an eye and became a new person. He still trained vigorously and fought whenever he could, but he was born anew... the only vengeance in his heart aimed towards the Pirate Captain that took his pride. Realizing the only way to destroy Capt. Tigre, in what he forementions as "The Grand Finale", and become the Greatest Fighter, was to contend with the best pirates on the legendary Grand Line. And the only way to do that, was to become a Pirate. Preferably Pirate Captain.
Making his decision, Vahn set out to make a name for himself and gain back his lost pride.

Combat relevant info:
Vahn battles with everything he has, unless he knows his opponent is no threat to him. Many think of him as a Battle Maniac, because of his unnatural want to fight whenever the oppurtunity rises. He's quite strategic when it comes to his own fights, despite his laziness, and his skill is now disputedly unmatched... so far.
Vahn usually likes to duke it out using brute strength and raw speed. Simple as that. But as many know, fights aren't that simple. So Vahn has adapted the ability to use everything to his advantage, as long as the fight stays fair. He hates fighting weak opponents and he especially hates losing.
His style is Martial Arts that are equally based off speed and power. He decided having an equal amount of each (instead of training just one attribute) and then just training extra hard would make him a better fighter. It seems to have done the trick. His moves are smooth yet strong but he's not the top of either field, bringing him a great disadvantage. His cleverness and sheer determination and will to win make up for that weakness however. He can improvise with anything and everything, making him a lethal opponent wherever one may be (think Jackie Chan).
His main weakness is having only one eye, but he deals with it the best he can and has grown sort of accustomed to it over the years.

Iron Fist Martial Arts Techniques:
Although he usually just fights however he likes, Vahn does have four set attacks that he has trained and focused on over the years he began travelling on his own. These attacks require a lot more focus than his normal moves and always follow the same pattern when used. He based said attacks on one of his true worldly loves: Card Games.
Jack of Clubs--
Queen of Hearts--
King of Diamonds--
Ace of Spades--

Personal Info
Personality:
Vahn is an odd one. Not in the eccentric way, but just the way he is in total. Vahn is laid back to say the least. Very uncaring and unworried about, well, anything; most see him as extremely lazy. He dislikes doing anything that isn't absolutely needed and enjoys relaxing any chance he gets. And when he does do anything, it's always at his own pace and nonchalant. If you plan to ask Vahn to do anything for you, think again... unless it has to do with battle.
Vahn is a battle maniac. While he may sometimes appear unenthusiastic about it, on the inside there's nothing more pleasing to him then a good fight. And a good fight is what he's always looking for. Perhaps this is why he is quite a skilled warrior himself. Having great training from childhood, Vahn continued to train his skills wherever he went and makes sure to keep in peak condition in case "The Grand Finale" happens. He's very clever and uses everything to his advantage in a fight, improvising if needed or just using brute strength. He prefers the later however and is definately a 'leap before he looks' kind of guy.

Vahn Renzo has a very cool composure about him, his temper not easily sent off. He never really rushes places and can't be asked to 'hurry up'. Only when the situation is beneficial to him will he work at top speed. He seems to have a strange knack for nonchalantly helping others though, whether he truly wants to or not, and doesn't need a thank you for his deeds.
But he is a bit selfish and a tad bossy at times. He despises having to work hard as boss but loves the benefits of being one. Having the ability to be able to command others to do things for him is his desire. But he would much rather just fight his way to the top rather than gain respect through deeds. That is why he wants to become a Pirate Captain by destroying another ship's Captain and taking control that way. No hassle, Full Control. He's just been too lazy to search for a crew to back him yet.
Despite Vahn's laziness, he does have some natural leadership qualities; especially when it comes to battle. He's not that bad on a ship either. He'll do what he can (and by that, he'll simply fight) to be boss and has no respect for authority. But that could change if someone were to defeat him since he's not lost a battle since he lost his eye.
Other than all that though, Vahn loves a good time, as any guy should, and is anything but anti-social. He's outgoing, but in his own indifferent/unique way that can only be understood when in the presence of him. Just don't challenge him to a fight.

Vahn has a gambling problem, but has a natural wind of luck it seems. He loves card games.
Also, Mr. Renzo often makes decisions on a whim... making him almost impossibly unpredictable. And he's very stubborn, so his decisions are final in his book.

Ethic: Lazy. Whatever he feels like at the moment or benefits him the most. Will tend to help others for some reason, even if he doesn't want to.

Motivation: To become the World's Greatest Fighter and bring honor to his sensei. Also to get revenge on the first man to truly defeat and humiliate him. To do both these things, Vahn must travel the Grand Line. And to do that, he must find a worthy Pirate crew to bring him there, since he can't sail alone and Pirates are the only ones that are foolish enough to try their luck on that legendary sea.

The engineer

Crimson Cade wrote:

Name: Rhynn Chelimber
Gender: Male
Role: Combatant and Engineer (Primary) Information gatherer and helmsman (secondary skills)
Age: 27
Combat Style: Dual sabers/Kicking in melee. Variety of grenades and revolvers at range.
Height and Weight: 188cm/6'1" and 89kg/186lbs

Appearance and Clothes: Wearing a reinforced coat similar to the trademark marine coat with a chain mesh shirt, Rhynn looks like a marine, had it not been for the perpetual three day stubble. Apart from being well toned, he is not remarkable in body. His hair is charcoal gray, and his eyes are dull blue. He constantly smokes, and his teeth are starting to show it.

History: Rhynn became disillusioned with the marines after fighting alongside them for almost ten years. Seeing people who knew which butts to kiss, and what lies to tell, rise through the ranks ahead of him made him furious and bitter. He rose to the rank of lieutenant, due to his tenacious fighting skills, improvement on marine equipment and reckless pursuit of criminals. He left a letter of resignation on the desk of his commanding officer, and decided to find something meaningful to do with his life.

He failed.

As of now, he is rotting away, waiting for fate to throw him a line.

Combat: Rhynn is recklessness incarnate in battle. He wields a pair of marine sabres, lashing out furious combos of cuts and kicks, with very few actual "special moves" (he makes them up as he goes). His greatest talent is his adaptability and large inventory of devices and weapons. He is hard as coffin nails due to a life of combat service. He dabbles in engineering, and makes it a matter of pride to use self-made (or at least personalized) equipment.

Rhynn's special talent in battle is his wits and adaptability. He can see through most fighting styles quite quickly, and alter his style seamlessly. After seeing a special move, he usually alters some factors, and adds it to his own repertoaire. If it is at all possible for him to do so.

Likes: Coarse tobacco, gadgets, brown liquor, loose women and battles of both brains and brawns.

Dislikes: Hypocrites, fancy drinks, rain, simple people and thieves. (Since they are a threat to his inventory, and never stay and fight)

Reason for becoming a pirate: To get something to do. The sheer irony of marine turned pirate makes it very appealing. There are a whole lot of people in the marines he wants to fight. See personal info for his embarrasing secret reason.

Personal info: As much as he is a slouch and a grouch, he is a marine in mindset, and strive to be everything they embody. His deep and personal secret wish is to be a famous knight of olde, to have maidens swoon for him and fight monsters and dragons. This is far to embarrasing to tell anyone, at least when he is sober. He will cover this up by saying that he is in it for the fame, fast cash and foxy ladies.

While a competent fighter, he prefers to keep things civil, and resolve things by talking. He is very conscious about fighting for a reason, and if he isn't convinced that the fight is productive, he gets frustrated and start thinking about the consequences of the fight instead of the fight.

He is rarely satisfied with anything worldly, and always looks for ways to improve things. Ironically, he is a complete slob when it comes to outward appearances.

Ethics: Selfindulgent with a friendly side. Selfish Neutral tending to selfserving Good tongue

Smell: A peculiar combination of oil, cheap cologne, tobacco and gunpowder.

The Doctor

John Fuuma wrote:

oh, got a good character for this, a doctor...(now, I just have to write him up...)

Name: Zan Dankai

Gender: Male

Position: Doctor

Age: 24

Combat style: Uses scalpels...he either throws them or uses them like combat knives...

Appearance:  Zan wears a variety of clothing; depending on the situation...He has green eyes and dark hair.  His hands are scared a bit...as are his arms, but these are all battle wounds he has and he is not ashamed of them.  He sometimes wears white gloves...but these are sterile gloves and he prefers to keep them out of combat.  He has about an average build, but is well tanned, like he's been out in the world a while.  (I will draw him if I can...and I did!)
Image----> http://tn3-1.deviantart.com/fs12/300W/i … ber109.jpg

Background:  Zan was trained in medicine on a scholarship, and dreamed of becoming a great doctor.  He took a job on a merchant ship, going around various ports.  He hoped he could find a place where he could start his own practice.  He was 21 at the time, but the ship he was on was attacked by pirates.  Then the marines came as well, and in the crossfire, the merchant ship was destroyed.  He managed to escape, along with some other passengers...but the pirates picked them up.  The pirates were nice about it though and they were going to drop them off at a nearby port....but they were challenged to *SPOILER...I guess* A Davy Back Fight*END SPOILER* by another pirate crew and he was chosen when his crew lost.  Originally the other pirate captain protested...but then the challenging captain asked him "Do YOU want to join my crew then?" that stopped all argument.  However, the crew that picked Zan up got into another *SPOILER....do I have to tell you.../SPOILER*  and he was chosen again when this crew lost...this happened a number of times until finally, on one crew he was the last man standing.  He took command of the small boat (not too hard when no one else is aboard...) and sailed on, looking for a meaning to it all.  He is currently roaming the sea, looking for a crew or an answer...

Personality:  He has lived an unlucky life...and is looking for meaning.  He is a man of few words, but if the situation arises, he will spring into action.  It's very hard for him to make "nakama", as his experiences have shown that some one who is your friend today may not be your friend tomorrow.  He did, however, take the oath, "to do no harm..." and does not wish to go back on it.  If it comes down to self defence though, he has many scalpels on him, and they are all razor sharp...

Motivation:  He wants meaning, and if he has to be a pirate to find a meaning in his life, so be it.  He's been on pirate crews already so, why not?

Note: yeah, his whole background is basicaly a spoiler....

The Shipwright

Since I was rejected by both the Water Crew and Pirate Ninja crew, I'll try one here instead.

Name: Locke Sterling
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Position: Combatant/Shipwright

Combat Relevant info: Improvised Street Fighting
He is a brawler who uses his environment to his advantage. Whether it be slamming his opponents into nearby windows or grabbing nearby planks of wood as a weapon, he does everything he can to make sure his opponents are taken care of. His specialty is fighting against groups, usually weaker people who gain courage through numbers.

Devil Fruit:
Tori Tori no Mi: Model Penguin
During his years as an enforcer, he was given a Devil's Fruit and ordered to eat it. After realizing just what his power was, he vowed to never use it  again. He told his master that the Fruit had been a dud, the only lie he ever told him.

Appearance:

175 pounds, 5' 10"
Short spiky blue hair with dark brown eyes. He has a pair of sunglasses that rests on top of his head that he'll wear when it's sunny. His only style of clothing is a white suit. He wears a red long sleeve shirt underneath with a white blazer over it along with white trousers. He has two tattoos, one running down each of his forearms, both the image of a wolf with fangs bared.

In his full beast form, Locke resembles a Blue Penguin. He grows much shorter, about 3 feet tall.

At this time, I have no half-beast form designed.

Personality:
A serious individual but not one devoid of life. He takes everything literally and doesn't understand puns. As such, he sometimes misinterprets commands and phrases. When executing orders, he always completes it to the letter and leaves no end untied. He usually keeps to himself but whenever he's in the mood, he will join in usually to the surprise of others. He doesn't like to pollute his body with things such as alcohol and tobacco. If someone he doesn't like is smoking near him, he'll grab the offending cigarette and destroy it, but most of the time, to be polite, he simply moves away. He has a soft side for sweets and is often seen with a piece of candy.

Background: His mother died giving birth leaving Locke's father, Ken Sterling, to raise him alone. Ken was a simple shipwright working for a company known as Sea Wings. Roughly around the age of 9, Locke joined his father's profession, becoming an apprenctice. Although they lived well enough to survive, it was nothing luxurious.  Shortly after his 17th birthday, two men in suits came for Locke's father. For the past 20 years, his father had slowly built up a large debt through gambling and loans to the city's organized crime group, the Valko Family. Unable to meet the demands, his father offered Locke to the family to pay for the debts. The head of the Valko family, Dante, decided to accept the offer and took the betrayed Locke.

Originally, it was planned for Locke to be sold as a slave. On the day he was to be shipped, Locke fought a group of Dante's men using the strength earned through carpentry and the savagery of a desperate man. Although he was eventually subdued, he had injured several men and caught the interest of Dante. From there, he was lived as an enforcer for the family, executing orders and carrying out the will of his master, Dante Valko.

He never forgave his father for what he had done but he also believed he was better off now. Locke's skill in fighting earned him an established position in the family and held it strong until a bloody coup ended it. Dante's son, Virgil, dreamed of expansion and domination but his father followed a lifestyle of limited concentration. Imagining greater things for the Valko, Virgil assassinated his own father and blamed Locke as the murderer.

Driven from his homeland, Locke escaped with barely his life on a small ship he stole from the Sea Wings. Once he had made it into open waters, he began to laugh loudly. Not because he was glad that he was alive, although he was, but because of the irony that he discovered on the ship. The man originally responsible for his life was the one who had made this ship, evident by the name of the vessel, "Sterling Silver". It amused him that the man who condemned him to a life of servitude now saved him from his death. Without even looking back, he bade farewell to his father and his homeland.

Motivation: With nowhere left to go, Locke is without a goal. He has no interest with revenge but would like to find a lifestyle that promised him luxury.

Background: Being the second son of the richest man on the island of Parinia has its advantages. For one thing you are free to do as you wish and no one will stop you. Another you have all the time in the world to kill and killing was exactly what he did. Actually he more fought to the death with anyone who seemed strong at the time. Slowly honing his skills until one day he found himself being addressed as the hero of the island. Later on he found out it was because he had fought and killed virtually every petty criminal from the island and had worried some of the stronger criminals.
When his father found out about how many his son had fought, he pulled young Victor from the streets and proposed the study of navigation as a cure to boredom. Victor found the idea of traveling the world on his own very appealing and began his studies, much to his father and brother's delight. However, after a few years the young aristocrat found that while he enjoyed his studies, he still yearned for a thrill he could only find in fighting. So he began to secretly fight in the streets again.
At the age of seventeen he had defeated yet another opponent and was about to kill him when the man offered a strange fruit in exchange for his life. he first told of how it would fetch a high price; however, this does not appeal to those already weathly so then the man claimed it would give Victor the power of the devil. Finally, the young man realized he was being offered a devil's fruit, Victor agreed and immediately ate the fruit. After a few trails, he discovered what power he had obtained and he was, at first, annoyed. He did, however, realize the fruit could have a use suited to him afterall. He now uses his power to carry his blaeds, clothing, navigation tools, and whatever else he views as necessary, including wine and material for traps.
With is new found "weapon", skill, and wits from studies in the past, Victor quickly beat the strongest men on the island at the age of twenty-two and quickly became very bored again. Knowing there were more powerful men in the world, Victor decided to leave his home; although, he soon became discontent with only fighting and now refuses to fight unless he absolutely must or if it is a particulary strong opponent or involves overwhelming odds *like if it's thirty or so against just him and maybe one other person* Eventually he gained some reknown as a bounty hunter. Once when he was asked why he became a bounty hunter he laughed and replied, "I simply wish to travel, bettering my skills by fighting strong opponents. It just so happens most of my opponents have bounties on their heads."

Likes: Wine, an interesting opponent, a challenge, kids
Dislikes: having to fight someone boring, being bored
Ethics: not good, not bad. He just is, though he has a soft spot for kids and will usually help them out.
Motivation: he just wants to fight interesting opponents and travel the world, he doesn't really care what he is called.

The Cook

*waves*  A certain person here (*coughjefucough*) mailed me about this Rp and I'm here to make my grand entrance.  This is an older character of mine, I just changed her a bit to match this Rp so I can't say it's perfect.  I can fill in the spaces, though I found Nails "we're the all-man gay pride crew" really funny, so here ya go another character straight from the mind of a constant daydreamer.

Name - "Khyte" (Pronounced Kai tet)
Age - 20
Gender - Female
Position - Cook
Height - 5'7"

Appearance
Hair - Dark brown (the kind that looks black until the sun touches it)
Eyes - Gold
Build - Average (still an hour glass)
Skin tone - Royal Japanese*
Clothing - Limited.  Mostly some type of jeans (pants, capris, shorts) and a top (t-shirt, tank top, long sleeve) though her clothing does have bits like a formal white shirt with a black tie, or, a jacket with a star-shaped patch. The only thing she will always wear is a silver bracelet. (More clothes will be bought later on)

Combat - Not the fighter type, but carries around a dagger just-in-case.  Her reflexes and senses are highly developed meaning she's quick to react or see/hear things first.  She can and will fight if she really needs to, and will use her dagger, fists, legs, or anything nearby to defend herself.

Personality - Khyte is clever and thoughtful, a good sponge if someone needs to let their emotions flow.  At first, she's a bit quiet and shy but later blooms to be rather loud and a bit protective and of herself or anyone who decides to befriend her.  She has tons of patience but isn't immune to stress or rage, she can keep it hidden until it bubbles over which is rare, from working on a farm she learned to keep calm.

Background - There's not much to say; she was born on an island in the North Blue and remained there a few years on the farm her family owned.  Being the second born, she had no chance as to gain the farm once her parents died and eventually left at seventeen.  There's little evidence as to who she truly is and said evidence is kept to herself.  She's good with animals and learned the art of cooking from her mother at a young age, though she's not a master chef, she still considers her work "pretty damn good".

Random info - Khyte isn't her real name, it's a name picked so if anyone tried to dig up her past or any evidence of it, nothing would be found.  So, why the cover up?  Everyone has a secret.

*Royal Japanese is a skin color that looks like a mix of Asian/Caucasian which actually points towards her ethnicity.  She's more Caucasian than anything else.

Personality: Quiet most of the time, unless she is comfortable around you then she has no problem talking. She's quick witted, and very smart. Likes drinking and has a high tolerence. Enjoy's meditating

Background: She was born blind, And because of that everyone always treated her like she was was more than just sight impaired. They did everything for her, not believing sh ecould do any of it herself. She decided to learn how to fight using a Katana to prove she could do things on her own

She found a Dojo and was first rejected. She tried and tried and tried to prove to the Swordmaster that she was capable of weilding her katana. To prove her point she challenged him to a duel. He laughed at her not meanly but in a amusement. He told her if she could prove to him through a test that she was worhty, he would train her.

The test she was given was an obsticale course. One he had prepared for his students. He did give her and over view on what was there and where she was supposed to go, since she could not see it herself to survey her path. Since he allowed his normal students to walk through the course just once, he allowed her that same right. She took mental notes of steps between the obsticales. Sounds around those obsticales so she knew which came next and how far she was. The only part she was most worried about throught the course was running through the sawed off barrels.

When her and the sensei got back to the start he asked her to think it through before she decided whether or not to go ahead with her unrealistic request. She stuck with her decision, and started the course. She ran through it counting her steps, and accounting for the stride difference. She made it through the first half just fine. Through one area there were students throwing sandbags doen at her. She dodged them by listening for the sounds of strain in the ropes and the change of wind around her. After that was a few other dodging like area's. Think dodge ball with opponents on both sides. then it came to the barrels. As she feared she fell a few times through that portion. She made it back to the start out of breath and panting. Fearing that she'd be rejected from the Dojo, because of how many times she fell, she started to leave without another word.

The sensei stopped her, saying he would accept her as his student. Her determination was enough for him. She started her training at the age of 10. He taught her Iaido. ((Thank you btw))  She uses a katana for her fighting style. The other students more or less excluded her from their activities. They were a close knit bunch and didnt want an outsider to join their little clique. Being more than slightly hurt by that, she pushed all those frustated angry and sad feelings way doen as far as they could go. Which in turn started making her more aggressive during her spars.

As she got older she still felt that her sensei wasnt treating her the same as the others he was more careful around her, when they sparred he went easy on her. She eventually snapped.  At 18 she confronted him on it demanding that he fight her with all his strength and ability. He told her no. That she couldnt handle it, not only because she was blind but because she was female and it wasnt his place to attack someone so fragile with all his might. She screamed out in frustration and lunged at him, slashing away at him with her sword. He blocked all of her attacks, telling her she was to slow, that she needed to stop before he made her regret it. More anger flew out of her and she sped up her attacks, losing breath quickly. Just as he stopped her blade high in the air she  kicked him in teh stomach. He faltered loosing his hold on her sword. She then quickly slid the katana through his chest. She held it in place for a moment. The smell of blood filled her nostrils and thats when she removed her katana, resheathing it. She left and never went back.. She works at a shipyard collecting docking fee's from ships.

Motivation: Prove that just because she is blind and female, doesnt mean she cant do things for herself

The transvestite master of disguise!

Okami Kugatsu wrote:

Name: Marion December
Gender: Male
Role: Navigator, Master of Disguise
Age: 26
Combat: Rapier Sword Techniques plus devil fruit abilities.
Physical specs: 5'6'', 130lb, thin, feminine build

Appearance:
Even though Marion is a male, he looks very much like a woman. He wears purple eye shadow, red lipstick, and has purple painted finger nails. His blond hair is poofed up in a 70's Farra Faucet style and he usually wears a large green robe made of silk with a white feather trim, a white tabard shirt underneath, and red leather bell bottom pants(think of "The Invincible Folgore from Zatch Bell). He has green eyes, 2 ear rings in each ear, and wears red shoes that match his pants.

Background:
When Marion turned 15, he knew that he was very different from the rest of the boys in his village on the quiet North Blue island of Soliday. He was always in the company of women rather than the guys, actually took an interest in fashion, and had no overall interest in the life of a man, but that of a woman. His father, Serge December, a former navigator of the Hard-Luck Pirates and master swordsman, was afraid that his child would become too feminine. He taught Marion the way of the swordsman with his favorite sword, Lumiere L'epee, and how to navigate the 4 Blues in the hopes that one day, his son would follow in his footsteps.

Marion took to the sword and the navigation, hoping to make his father proud, but Marion couldn't deny who he really was. It broke his heart to constantly see his father's disapproval, even when he worked really hard to appease him. When Marion turned 18, he saw his father leaving their home. When Marion asked why, Serge said that he was called back into duty by the Hard-Luck Pirates and that he would be back in a few days. Those days turned into years and Marion's father still has never returned. He left behind his favorite sword as a way of showing that he would one day return. Marion decided that it was time for him to live his own life and move on, deciding that his father was probably so disappointed in him that he wanted to escape him as soon as possible. He took his clothes and his father's sword with him.

Through force of destiny or fate, Marion was recruited into several pirate crews, all as their Navigator, though Marion held no interest in these crews since there was no one that he could stick around for. Having been a pirate for a short period of time, at the age of 23, Marion decided to open up his own beauty salon called the December Tendance on Conchbor Island. Marion's employees are sort of a pirate crew in their own right, each one rowdy and loud, but having a love for fashion and style. The majority of the employees are women, but some of them are living a similar okama style that Marion and even Mr. 2 Bon Clay lives. Marion's expertise in style, make up, wigs, and overall fashion has given Marion a knowledge of transforming himself and others into entirely different looking people.

One day, a package was sent to Marion, care of the Hard-Luck Pirates. It was a small treasure chest with the mark of Serge December on it. Marion opened the box and found a very odd looking fruit in it. Having no previous knowledge of devil fruits, Marion angrily ate the fruit that his deserting father had given him for some reason. He didn't care why his father had given him this thing, he just wanted to destroy it in the best way possible and eating it is usually the best way to destroy a fruit in the first place. After Marion ate it though, he found himself feeling very nauseous, like his stomach was spinning out of control. He soon got over it and proceeded to throw away the small treasure box when the box began to spin like a top when the palm of his hands touched it. It then shot off and broke a hole into his home's wall. After telling his second in command at the December Tendance, he learned that what he ate was the devil fruit known as the Spin Spin Fruit which causes anything that Marion touches with the palm of his hand to spin like a top. (Think of Nami's Tornado Tempo). Through years of practice, Marion has learned how to control the power of the Devil Fruit so that he can choose what would spin and what wouldn't.

Every now and then, Marion would have a very rude, or stingy customer, so Marion and his employees would have to beat up and toss out anyone who was not able to pay up or act properly. Sometimes, Marion has had to defend himself from someone who would take advantage of him because he looked like a woman. Marion has always kept his skills sharp because even though he resented his father for leaving him, he still to this day admired his style of combat.

Combat relevant info:
Rapier Sword combat:

Trained by his father in the way of the Swordsman in the vain attempt to make Marion more manly, Marion's combat is a fast and fierce contrast to his usual personality.

Entame'-Marion's usual first strike by quickly unsheathing his rapier, making the point flick at his enemy and drawing first blood.

Entaille-A fast thrust to the enemy used to inflict wounds on the joints to impede movement.

Empaler- Marion quickly runs by all enemies with his rapier in front of him. Any enemies that are in front of him are blown away by this attack.

Devil Fruit Maneuvers:
Forced Pirouette- Putting his hand on the enemies chest or back, Marion can use the power of his spin spin fruit to make his enemy spin fast, disorienting the enemy.

Forced Pirouette Puis- After spinning the enemy really fast, Marion uses his strength to thrust the enemy forward and use him/her as a projectile weapon. This is hard for Marion to use over and over again since it requires a lot of his strength so he uses it sparingly.

Coupe de'tat- His ultimate move combining the power of his Spin Spin Fruit, his rapier, and his quick speed, Marion turns himself into a high powered drill  that can bust through concrete. Side effect of this maneuver is tha Marion becomes really dizzy and nauseas.  (Similar to Arlong's Shark on Gear)

Personal info:
The guy is very flirtatious among males but he doesn't exactly enter mellorine mode like Sanji. However, he does get a sparkle in his eye whenever he sees someone or something he likes. He's very persistent and will never give up the chase for someone he loves no matter what. Though he is a fairly strong man, he acts kind of wimpy whenever he gets rejected: ie. water wells up in his eyes, his eyes become huge, his voice quivers. Whenever he approves of something, he usually shouts out his approval with a Fabulous, Splendid, Spectacular, Wonderful! and so forth. Marion has a very fickle nature though so he can suddenly become disinterested with something in a split second. Like Sanji, Marion becomes very defensive of his focus of desire and will fight to the death to protect it. Marion can become enraged if it every gets hurt. If Marion becomes hurt or angry by someone he would normally help, Marion would stubbornly refuse to lift a finger to help that person until an apology was said.

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

((weird sidenote: i had deju vu of me writing this while writing this, obviously. it was destined to be!))

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

oh, got a good character for this, a doctor...(now, I just have to write him up...)

Image----> http://tn3-1.deviantart.com/fs12/300W/i … ber109.jpg

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

Name: Rocko

Age: 700 years old

Height: 21'7"

Weight: 10,000lbs

Gender: male

Position: Carpenter

Combat Relevant info: Just plan brute force

DF power: None

Appearence:
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a22/Marowak-wakback/Rocko2.jpg

Species: Giant Rock Demon

Background: While exploring an old cave, he stumbled upon an old hidden temple within the cave. In the center of the temple, was a podium, on the podium was a black, glowing orb, about the size of a baseball. Thinking that he'd get some big bucks off of it, he decided to take it, bad idea!

As soon a he grabbed it, the black orbed glowed a dark red and then fused into his hand. Yelling in pain, as his body began to change, his shin became gray, rough and as hard as a rock. He started to grow in size, from his normal 6 ft, to a monstrous 21’7”. His 5 fingers turned to 3 and his feet turned into a boot like shapes. His head turned into a dragon like forum and grew a long hard tail. On his arms, the Japanese symbols of power and stone appeared. And then, when the pain subsided, a voice from nowhere enters into his mind, “HE WHO BARES THE POWER OF THE EARTH DEMON, GIGATOROS, SHALL BE CURSED WITH HIS POWER FOREVER!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!”

And indeed he was, wherever he went, trouble wasn’t far behind. The Navy was always giving him a hard time, but he quickly found out that it was gonna take more then the Navy to take him down.

Motivation: If he's gonna be an enemy of the Navy, why not just become a pirate.

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

Appearance:
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Lochiryu/Extra/lockewglasses.jpgHuman Formhttp://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r35/Lochiryu/Extra/penguin-1.jpgBeast Form

Likes:

Dislikes:

Re: One Piece: Lord of the Shichibukai!

I'll happily accept John Fuuma and Loc ( I like the references to Dante and Birgil, good and proper medieval writers, and the divine comedy was... well, divine!)

Unfortunately for Capt. Wackback, as it stands, your character is not accepted, the grounds that it is stupid. 700 year old stone demons? I'd asked for experienced and original RPers, you appear to be neither. You can try again with another character, but bear in mind that unlike your last one, they must be original and balanced.

So, the crew so far!

toenails- captain
Jefu- first mate
Crimson Cade- Engineer/reconnitoire/ helmsman
John Fuuma- Doctor
Loc- Carpenter (there is actually a difference between a carpenter and an engineer, a difference I intend to exploit)

And so far this crew is shaping up pretty nicely! I'll start an opening post in The Adventure begins later, so don't go killing yourselfs, because that would totally ruin the line-up... I mean, sure kill yourself when the RP is over, I don't care, but now you're commited! you have a reason to LIVE!

Added "ethics" to my character. It pretty much comes clear in the personality, but for completeness sake.

Damn, since I went to that movie... and Crim and Loc posted... one of my character's ideas were used! What are the chances xD

Vahn was gonna have improvised martial arts... like Locke's brawling style.

hmmm, what to do... either or, i'm finishing him up as we speak. or type.

voila! the RP is now up, so post away, although try not to involve any other characters at this stage, and just use it as a setup for things that MAY happen.

Great minds think alike.

You could still do improvised martial arts if you wanted to. There should be plenty of room where we can differ, as I stated in my character's profile, he specializes in fighting against groups, his one-on-one skills aren't as developed. I imagine your character to be more like a Jackie Chan-style improv or more refined since you had a teacher, Locke's is self-taught so it's more like using broken bottles and junk.

Hmm, missed this part...
But does my post really matter in turns of involving? I kinda thought you should meet someone rather quickly ('cause that whole posting with yourself gets lame and boring) and set up a chance for Takashi and Vahn to become... aquaintances?

Your choice if you want to continue their interaction or not, toesy-kun wink

Not as much the pervert part as disregarding the whole shonen "don't ask don't tell" attitude towards a casual relationship with adult materials. It's a motivational thing too. Rhynn couldn't care less about getting rich and famous if it didn't have any perk(y)s.
