Kaizoku-Fansubs_Releases.xls
This is an Excel file charting out all of our releases, from Episode 001 to current, and comparing them to the Japanese releases.
From this set of data, it is possible to draw several statistical conclusions about the future dates of releases, none of which will mean anything.
But hey, numbers are fun!
Here are some additional comments on the spreadsheet:
Charts:
Both of the charts are indexed by Release Number, which isn't quite the Episode Number, because it includes Movies and TV Specials. The chart is set up so that our Release Number will match Toei's Release Number, which is the same order we release in.
The first chart is "Rate Comparison". This chart is intended to show which episode #K-F and Toei had released on a particular date. Pick a Date, and you can find the point on the two graphs corresponding to that date, and easily find the Release Number it represents.
Another way to read this chart is by picking two episodes on the x-axis and seeing the difference in time on the y-axis. The shorter the time span between the two episodes, the flatter the line will be. Thus, flatter means faster. As our releases get closer to Toei's releases, the difference in x will decrease as y increases.
The second chart is "Time Comparison". This chart compares the release number with the total time that each has been releasing. Pick a Release Number, and find the corresponding number of days it took to get there. The fewer number of days to get to a particular release, the flatter the line will be.
Toei:
Toei has always released 42 episodes of One Piece per year, not 52.
Toei One Piece began airing October 20, 1999, three years (1056 days) before #K-F began subbing it on September 10, 2002.
Toei's official One Piece site is here, in Japanese: [Toei One Piece Site].
Excel XLS Format:
This chart is written for Microsoft Excel. If you do not have Excel installed, there is a free viewer application available at Microsoft's Office 2003 Site. I will not accomodate OpenOffice any further than this.
Japanese Data Site:
The data for the Japanese releases comes from this page: [CTT One Piece Airings]. This page is hosted by Cable Television Toyama (CTT). They also have pages which report the airing dates for several other series, but you have to know the name in Japanese to find them: [CTT Other Anime Airings].
Toyama is located in the center of the very long northern coast of Japan. Here is the location of the prefecture: [map]. Here is the prefecture's official English web site: [Toyama Site].

I really agree. I REALLY love pointless numbers. I spent a while calculating all sorts of pointless things with an earlier version of this.
I'm actually procrastinating some work with numbers right now. Numbers with a purpose. Ugh. Boring. Maybe I'll go calculate half year averages for K-F releases instead.

Yay an updated version of this one. I've got an old one that you sent to my dythim... I tried to keep up with it, but I lost interest very quickly. So thanks for letting me slack off even more.

I'm sorry I'm new and I'm an impatient bastard... I watched all the episodes of One Piece up to 168 within a week.. I'm hooked like a candy cane on a christmas tree... Tell me how I can help speed up release dates of ONE PIECE.. Do I need to run your errands? do your christmas shopping for you?... anything so that you can spend more time doing quality subbs that I hunger for. Is it donations you need? tell meeeee (clawing frantically at nothing) **choking on the lack of ONE PIECE...
