Hi guys, sorry for posting a repeated question but I have been unable to fix this.
When I create the .avs file Vdub opens it perfectly, however it doesn't play any audio.
I tried playing the mp4 and the avs in WMP and the mp4 works fine but the avs still has no sound.
I'm using the latest CCCP and have tried uninstalling/reinstalling it.
I ran the avs through Graphedit and it shows no audio stream, just video.

But the Mp4 shows a working audio stream

Hope I provided enough information
Have AviSynth installed?
Have any other codecs installed?

Offline
Yes I have AviSynth installed.
I have CCCP, Xvid and Lame MP3 installed.
I also have an audio cutter, that came with its own codecs. I'll try uninstalling it and see if that helps.
Offline
Don't bother with the audio cutter codec it won't work.
From the Graphedit picture you posted, it looks like something else other than ffdshow is taking on the task of decoding the file. So what you should be doing is looking for what it is and disabling it, not installing yet more codecs.
Take a snap of what is listed in your add/remove programs menu
I have a funny feeling that it's one of nero's filters ![]()

Hope this helps.
Edit: The images come through really bad on K-F. If you right click, go to view image, they come through much clearer

Totally forgot about this
Anyway from what you posted i don't see anything that would try to decode the AVS file (that LG phone manager don't have a video converter dose it?).
Here's some things to try:
Remove quicktime, reboot and try the avs file.
If that don't work then also try removing powerDVD (you can reinstall it later) and test.
Try uninstalling the NTI CD/DVD programs, reboot and test.
Finally if removing those programs don't work then all i can suggest is to uninstall CCCP and install ffdshow and haali as per the 1st page.
It's perplexing how your system gives AVI Decompressor as an output on in Graphedit, guess it's one of those things you chalk up to being a mystery.

Thanks for your help one.
I managed to fix the problem. I compared the .mp4 and the .avs in graph edit and realised that the .avs was not putting out any audio. So this made me think it was avisynth.
I went back and looked at dyths first post and realized that he used 2.5. But when i downloaded avisynth (as the link doesn't work) I downloaded the latest release. Of the 2.0 version.
So a simple uninstall and installed 2.5, and now it works. ![]()
Thanks again.

Hi guys, I have a problem...
I sincerely hope that no one has posted a problem regarding this topic on this thread yet (if so, would you kindly redirect me to that specific post using any links/insults/flames/hatemail/etc), but if there isn't... Yeah.
I recently upgraded to Windows Vista (Ultimate - if that makes a difference or not) and my past experience with Windows XP let me go about part one of the installing process without any technical issues whatsoever - you know, on the very first post made by dythim where you install ffdshow and haali matroska splitter unmarking all the stuff. This was really straight forward and simple. I did that same exact process AFTER I installed Vista, but the mp4 files (or whatever video format KF is using) doesn't seem to work. What should I do?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I totally missed that, i guess when you said that you had AviSynth installed i assumed you had the correct version and i didn't bothered to check.
New rule: every time someone reads the guide then goes off and install the wrong software, i'll take one of dythim's fingers. I would threaten you with shooting a bunny in the head but you heartless bastards couldn't care less about bunny's so i'll have to use dythim. By taking one of his fingers it'll slow down the releases cause he'll have to learn to type with nine digits  So if you don't want the releases to slow (or if you don't want dythim to get hurt) then read and install the right software!!.
ILuvKimchi: Vista?
I really shouldn't comment on this :x

ok, im having trouble getting the advanced options come up in VirtualDub. I have reinstaled XviD a few times now. should i be restarting my computer inbetween these reinstalations or do you have any other idea of what would be up so that i would not be able to get to the adv. options?
OK you need to read the previous pages.

Dythim maybe you can update the guide to add the parth to the advanced option in the new XviD build?
After you click on configure button change Quality Preset from General Purpose to User Defined click More then click Quantization Tab
Thats for XviD-1.1.0 final build but it should work for the latest builds as well.

It took me awhile to find this exact post. Right now, the guide says it differently.
Dythim, if you're not busy, could you please edit your post for the new settings? It would help everyone a lot I think.

Sounds like you type out the wrong file name in your avs script.
Post what you have in your avs file
Should look something like this
DirectShowSource("[K-F]_One_Piece_162_[AB178EF9].mp4", fps=23.976)
If you renamed the file then it should look something like this
DirectShowSource("One Piece 162.mp4", fps=23.976)

thanks for that rapid respond but the file name was correct after i renamed it to be exact this is the real error massage
Avisynth open failure:

(C:\One Piece The Movie 05 [Curse Of The Sacred Sword].avs, line 1)
thanks

One Piece The Movie 05 [Curse Of The Sacred Sword].avs <==== that is the name! what i want to see is what is written in it.
Open the avs file in notepad then copy and paste what is written here so that i can see.
it should look like this: DirectShowSource("[K-F]_One_Piece_162_[AB178EF9].mp4", fps=23.976)
if it's "C:\One Piece The Movie 05 [Curse Of The Sacred Sword].avs" then don't bother posting it as i don't need to know what you called the avs file.

Hello
I have dune what u said & this is what is inside the file:
DirectShowSource("One Piece The Movie 05 [Curse Of The Sacred Sword].mp4", fps=23.976)
thanks for your patience

In Virtualdub, select Audio -> Conversion, then make sure that the sampling rate is set to 48000, channels is set to stereo and precision is set to 16-bit, the option "No change" should keep these values right unless there is some unknown problem with your codecs!

Right, that doesn't look like its a syntax problem so you're screwed. oh well
Answer this:
What operating system are you using?
What do you have installed? (Take a snap shot of your "add/ remove programs" folder and post it here)
Do you have the video folder open when you convert the file?
Is the AVS file in the same place as your video? (C:\one piece\videos)?

Don't know what you're talking about. Go ask Yoda on IRC about the encodes.
And yes it has been a long time since i last post, the reason? i got capped and ran out of bandwidth for the month, so if you want an answer quickly i wouldn't take your sweet arse time when replying to my questions cause i could run out of bandwidth again.

I've been using this successfully for a long time. But now for some reason, with the latest ep, (221) it won't work.
Here are some screenshots, please tell me if I did something wrong.

Hi gang
Is there a REAL BATCH way of doing this? I know that VD can defer the job, but still, I have to open every avs one by one and do the save... Isn't there any faster way? Like entering a series of files in the .avs or whatever?
Thx!

Try to update ffdshow and Haali or CCCP which ever you use. If it still won't work then you'll have to post a screen shot of your avs file in graphedit.
And don't be lazy! cut out the out put instead of posting the whole desktop
Also when asking for help it's customary to post your credit card number, failing that the least you can do is to post your system spec, like OS used, software installed, naked pictures of your self etc etc........

Errr... Guys... that's way too difficult.
I have a smart little program called Video convert master v6.1, wich can encode mp4 to avi in just one easy step. You have to have the quicktime codec installed though. And I can't get such good quality as I had with the episodes wich were orignally in avi. (good old days... *sob) Sometimes the action scenes get a little pixelated. Even if I make files with 2mbit/sec framerate. Don't know why. But it works easy and quick.
I hate mp4, I hate it with a passion.
Any possibility of someone reposting the mp4 episodes in avi?
Any joy with that request??..I had to temporarily stop my adventure to the Grand Line because of the switch from avi to MP4.
No matter what I try my stand alone DIVX player wont play them !!
Any assistance would be most appreciated
Thanks
