The pit-pat of the rain against the stony ground was by far the only sound made as the streets were cleared.
A woman tightly pulled the cloak around her even more, as she thought deeply about a matter troubling her.
The chill of the wind stung her arms and made her feel numb making her tighten it more.
Her hidden eyes scanned the ground as if to look for something, but her mind was to deep in thought to focuse on anything at the moment.
From a normal point of view, she looked slightly evil and odd.
Normally, she would have heard what was running straight towards her, but she was in her head too deep.
She suddenly was slammed back onto the cold ground with a shock, only slightly catchiing herself with one of her arms only to collapse.
As she fell, her black cloak fell off revealing her strange features , landing next to her.
She had crimson eyes, which now were widened, black fox ears which pressed against her head due to the rain, crimson earings swaying in the wind, black hair with two red highlights on the right side of her head also swaying in the wind, fangs peeking out of her mouth, and a bushy tail behind her.
She was wearing a tight red t-shirt, black jeans, black boots, and a crimson scarf flowing behind her.
Her face showed horror as she realised he saw her 'monsterous' form.
She struggled to get her cloak over her head sloppily so he didnt see any more. but found one of her arms was hurt and she couldnt move it.
Her face twisted in pain as she just collapsed on the ground again.
She tried several times only with the same results, crying out with each one.
She tried one last time, and finally giving in from the pain, she passed out muttering one last thing beforehand
"Don't look..." the creature softly mumbled as it collapsed.
Lingshou stood perplexed at what lay before him. His awestruck eyes traced the physical features of this strange creature. Ears, fangs... and a tail? No way this is possible, he thought to himself. He pushed his dark, brown hair out of his eyes to get a closer look. Bent on his knees, he gently stroked the poor monster's ear, which twitched from his touch. They're real...
Still transfixed, his eyes ran along the animal's body, stopping at an awkwardly bent arm. He raised his hand and gently tapped an elbow. The creature peacefully squirmed; no doubt the arm was broken. He felt the creature's forehead. "You're burning up." Lingshou could not leave this beast to die like this. He scooped the fox-thing up with his arms, careful to not bump the arm. Then, somewhat struggling under the weight, he carried the creature towards his dusky shed.
The woman smiled in her sleep when he touched her ears, it tickling her and feeling good.
She stirred slightly, before rising slowly, only to find herself being carried to a shed.
She was confused at why she was, for she had been shunned all her life.
She looked up at him and decided to enquire further.
Her fanged mouth opened a bit to speak, but she relised how cold it was when she shivered violently.
She forgot about her arm and tryed to move it winceing in pain.
She tugged on his sleeve and asked him,
"C-can w-w-we get in-nside pl-ea-ea-se?"
She moved her hands to her cloak, which was sloppily thrown around her, and put it over her head with her one useful arm.
She felt heavier than usual , because of her wet clothes and hair, and decided to just relax for a moment.
Then, her nose wrinkled and she let out a loud sneeze.

Spike was sleeping. Outside....when it was raining, and the wind was blowing. With nothing but a vest and some pants. What was his problem? No one knew. Spike awoke to a somewhat clunking noise.
"What the...." Spike awoke to a jolt. "Wha???"He looked around for what ever that had awakened him.
"riiight...." murmured Spike as he sat down in the freezing rain and somehow fell asleep again.
.::One Hour Later::.
Spike awoke to a cool breeze, but to him, it was like someone take an icecube and rubbing him all over with it.
Shivvering he awoke again.
"wh-wh-why the f-f-f-fuck is it s-s-s-s-s-sooo coolld????" He whispered as he looked around for shelter. Then he saw a man carrying a woman. Spike eyed the place, and found that he was trying to take the woman into his safe...warm...shelter.
"mmm...shelter...." Then Spike ran up behind the man. "Hey, you need some help getting into your palce?"
“Not again” Complained the large man. Here he was, stranded outside... Again. For the fifth night in a row. Everybody was so darn judgmental. “So WHAT if I have a devil fruit ability? That doesn’t mean I’m a pirate... ah well, at least it’s nice out”. And then it began to rain.
The large man trudged down the wet streets with a cloak thrown over his head to protect him from the rain. As he turned a corner, he heard what sounded like a body hitting the ground and a distinctly feminine cry of pain. As he approached the scene, he saw a small stain of blood being slowly washed away by the rain, and a shadowed figure carrying away what appeared to be a body. The man chased after them, and finally catching up to the figure near a shack, called out: “Unhand that Damsel, Fiend, or I shall cut you down where you stand”!
Lingshou felt something tug at the sleeve of his drenched white t-shirt.
"Can we get inside please?" the wounded creature asked.
Lingshou replied with a slight nod, still not knowing if this 'thing' was dangerous or not. The creature let out a soft sneeze and pressed its nose against Ling's chest. Ling stared at the creature he was carrying. He once more examined the fox-like features. He then noticed there was a lack of fur on the arms, and a human-like hair style sprouting from the head. No, this couldn't be a fox. The beast is indeed female, and judging from her predominate physical features and excessive intellect from an animal, she almost appeared human...
Closing in on his shed, Ling heard a voice behind him.
"Hey, you need some help getting into your place?"
Do I need help getting into my place? What is this guy trying to pull?
As Ling turned around, he heard a deeper voice calling out from the overcast horizon. He turned to see a lean man dressed in black not much shorter than he was. Ling and the man then both fixed their gazes upon a big ominous shadow in the distance.
The woman looked back and forth between the men, wrinkling her nose in confusion.
Then the words of the big man sunk in, and realising that she definatly looked like a damsel in distress she got angry.
She bent down a little and bit the man holding her, making her fall on the ground roughly.
She rubbed her backside with her hand and stood up carefully looking pissed off, minding her arm though.
She definatly looked scary in the rain with black locks covering her face and looking like a beast.
She bent down to retrieve something from her ankle, which was a dagger which she held out defensively, ready to make her point clear.
"If you havent noticed already big guy, I aint no human girl needing to be saved. I'm a monster..."
She said coldly and charged at him with the dagger, only to find that the big guy was there one moment , and not the next.
She suddenly without time to blink had multiple things happen at once.
The dagger was kicked from her hand, and her broken arm was grabbed as she was slammed to the ground, pinned.
Ling murmured as he knew that had to hurt.
The woman let out a blood curtling scream before passing out again.
Her arm seemed to swell more and became purple almost, confusing the big man.
“Awwwwww hell”. Allen thought. This is the worst screw-up he’d had in ages. First he mistook some creepy lady for a damsel in distress, and then she attacked him, and now she was out cold on the ground after he’d touched her arm. And what was that crap about being a monster? Allen had no idea, but he figured if he did a little Q&A, he could find out the answer. “You there, the tall guy, what happened to her”? A shake of the head was all he received. “And you”? He directed to the smaller man who was further away from the group. Again, a shake of the head. “Great, absolutely nothing”. Allen thought to himself. “Alright, you there, tall one, let’s use this shack for shelter. And you, short stuff, see if you can find some warmer clothing for our lady friend”. Allen bent down to retrieve the still unconscious woman, and noticed something odd, namely, a pair of ears coming from the top of the mysterious woman’s head. “Heh, a monster indeed. Must be a zoan type”. Allen muttered. Allen wondered just what someone like her was doing stuck in the rain in the first place, but their first priority was to get this lady somewhere warm and get her some help for her broken arm.
The fox bit Ling.
Ling dropped the beast and rubbed his wound while watching the fox-lady struggle to her feet. Something flashed at the fox-girl's ankle. He was shocked to see the girl reach for a dagger, and instinctively reached inside his dark, soaking jacket. The injured girl stood up, yelled at the dark lump of a man, and charged forth, dagger unsheathed.
Then, in a split second, the dagger was flying in the air and the fox-lady slammed hard into the ground.
"What the hell..." Ling's voice trailed off. He heard a shriek and watched the fox collapse for a second time.
Her arm is broken... Why the hell did she attack someone?
Ling saw the status of the arm and knew if it was damaged any further, it would be beyond repair. His doctor's oath could never allow this. Without a second though, he rushed towards the bloody fox, hand still within his jacket.
Ling stopped short and saw the big lump rise upon the girl.
“You there, the tall guy, what happened to her?"
Ling didn't like his attitude, and shook his head. What happened to her?? Didn't you just take her out??
“Alright, you there, tall one, let’s use this shack for shelter.” the lump continued.
Ling looked at the big man scornfully. Who the hell is he, giving orders like this? He approached the girl and the man and looked at the man.
"Move." Lingshou said with high distaste, and once again carried the fox to his shelter.

After she passed out, the girl looked very sickly at moment.
She was ghostly pale, with slightly flushed cheeks, and though they were not seen, tears of pain had leaked.
She drifted off into sleep, as the outside world went on., her dreams taking over.
Dreams.....more like nightmares.
The confused child cryed as the other kids bullied her.
Well actually, half of them cowered and hid as the 7 year old wandered through the streets.
But the other half stopped in front of her looking angry with stones in their hands.
She looked confused her ears twitching nervously making the kids look angrier.
Suddenly as she backed away, she found her self cornered and the kids attacked.
Half of them pegged her with stones, and the other half just punched and kicked her.
When it was all over, she walked silently back to where she stayed with the one person who was nice to her; her doctor.
He took one glance at her and gasped, imediatly taking care of her wounds.
She asked the man quietly why they did what they did, but he just looked at her sadly with no reply.
"There are some people who are scared of differene, or find it a threat. But there are the selected few who will show kindness, I just hope you find someone like that,"
She cocked her head not understanding the full meanign of his words.
Then suddenly, he started drifting away, and her life was showed through the rest of her years, all of the pain and anguish, and because there was no kindness, when she understood his words, they had no meaning.
She was sweating while she dreampt the whole time and kept thrashing and screaming the whole time.
Ling's shed has 3 small rooms. 2 contained old twin size beds and one room was bolted shut and labeled 'FORBIDDEN'. Presently, Ling was with the girl in the forbidden room and the 2 others sat in the narrow hall waiting. The girl was placed on a small cot, her dreams violently twisting her body. Ling had strapped down her arms to avoid further injury. He mixed two clear liquids together and extracted this home-made anesthesia with a needle. The room smelt of rubbing alcohol and sweat.
After injecting a bit into the girl's arm, Ling put away the needle and began to wrap the arm with a warm cloth. The girl moaned a bit. Ling talked to himself, "The cloth will soon harden and your arm will heal in a few days..."
This is the first time in years he has felt a connection with someone else. His doctor's instinct did not allow anyone to suffer physical pain. Physical pain... Ling knew that this girl, whatever she was, suffered from more than a broken arm.
Ling finished wrapping and stepped out of the room, his patient shaking in her sleep behind him.

"Screw this" Said Spike standing up.
"Where'ya goin' lad?" Asked the large man.
"Im going in that room!" Spike said. "I can't stand around waiting for someone who is hurt! I mean I'm not that kinda guy!"
He walked over to the room and knocked.
"Hey, wanna switch out for a while?" Asked Spike from one side of the door.

Allen had no idea why exactly he had called the boy "lad" becuase he appeared to be older than himself. "I suppose it seemed like a good idea at the time" Allen thought to himself. anyways, it was getting stuffy in the room, and the short guy was getting impatient, what with calling for the doctor and whatnot. Allen had the vaguest feeling that the doctor guy didn't like him much, but some people were just like that. Having decided that this tension was rather ridiculous, allen spoke. " You patch her up, okay, doc? She looked pretty rough". Although Allen had only recently met this young woman, he kinda wanted her to pull through, being a fellow devil fruit user and all. Mildly annoyed that he really couldn't do anything but wait at the moment, Allen sat down on the floor and turned up the volume on the music in his head and prepared to wait for the docter.

Ling strode past the two weary men and filled a glass of water. He sat down near the door of the forbidden room and stopped the guy dressed in black from entering. He then closely examined the glass.
"Any idea what she is?" he asked, never interrupting his vigilance over the water.
"And who are you guys?
Last edited by Robbamania (2007-03-12 20:29:39)
Spike took a step back and said, "My name is Spike Lancer" he turned around and sat beside the large man again, "I guess i can't go in?"
The docter shook his head.
"Anyways, i suspect that, she has eaten a devil's fruit, most likely the zoan type." Said Spike. "how is she?"
"that's exactly what i was going to say" said the large man.
"I expect that she is fine, She is sleeping, and her arm is just a litle fractured." Replied the Docter.
"Good." Said Spike relaxing his shoulders a bit. "Now you guys have to introduce yourselves"
The large man stood up and removed his cloak with a flourish, revealing himself to be not much more than a child. “I’m Allen Freidrichson, at your service”. Said the boy with a bow and a smile. “I’m a traveling musician, though I need no instruments”. “And how about you”? Allen asked icily to the doctor.
Ling decided to hide that the girl's arm was close to unrecoverable. You can thank my bone regrowth formula later he thought.
Ling was not so much knowledgeable about devil fruits, but he did know that zoans were the ones that could change into animals.
"I heard about zoans before. I guess that makes sense." He remembered the fox's human appearance. "There was a rumor that a man ate a reindeer fruit in my home of Drum Island. People gathered to hunt this beast all the time." Ling grinned at the memory of his home. "But that was all before..." His voice trailed and he became reticent.
Presently he continued to study his glass of water.
A noise sounded in his Forbidden room.

Jumping up, at the noise of this, Spike ran to the door of the room and opened it, to find the fox-lady on the ground with the table knocked over, thankfully to the otherside.
"Jesus!" Cried Lingshou, "How are you up already!?" As he gestured Spike over to help.
They hoisted her back up onto the bed again.
"I don't need help!" Cried the woman and backed into the corner of the room. "Anyways! Aren't you scared of me!?"
"Not really, I have seen much worse...like, zebras..." Said Spike as he shivered. "And Monkeys, and moose, and a co-"
"I think that's enough" Interupted Allen. "I am glad to see you are ok."
At this point the fox-lady had calmed down.
"Now, start by telling us your name" Started Spike.
"Yes...A name." Whispered the fox-lady.
OOC: Sorry if i powerplayed yoru charts a bit there, i had no choice.
She thought for a moment her head down.
'Should I give them my name? what if they turn me in to the marines!'
She looked up, with anger in her eyes.
"You're just going to send me to the marines!"
She scanned the others features, then, a tiresome look went across as she slid to the floor, knees poised in front of her.
Quickley though she returned to glaring a t them.
"Its all people want to do."
((OOC:its okay to powerplay me while im gone. sorry for the short post, gotta go now))
After the glares, Spike seemed EXTREMELY offended.
"look, ms. FOX-LADY, but we are trying to help," he said, "News flash! There are more to people than ignorance and self-servance! And WE are that kind of people!" Almost in a rage, he felt as though his blood was at a boil.
"Now now.." said Allen "I think I am saying this for all of us that we trust you. And if it will take time for you to trust us, that's fine. We should just listen to some music while we are at it" Allen and started listening to music again.
"And you should get some rest" Said Lingshou, "By the way, my name is Lingshou, and this is Spike," Gesturing at him, "And Allen," gesturing towards Allen.
Spike took one more reassuring glance that she won't be pulling out any more daggers, he walked out of the room, "Im using a room, which one?"
Lingshou replied, "The one on your left now"
A reassuring "Ok" Was what echoed back.
“Turn her into the marines…?” Allen muttered to himself. “Just how high a bounty does she have to be THIS worried about the marines?” Allen could only speculate, but he figured that it must be over 20,000,000… “Anyways”, he thought, “I can’t let a lady in distress go without help… even if she doesn’t want it”. Allen turned down his music and strode over to where the lady was and offered a hand “You want hand up”? Asked Allen. It was quickly smacked away, much to Allen’s annoyance. “Geez, I don’t suppose you could be a bit more considerate”. A cold glare was all he received in return. “Pinglou-“ allen started. “It’s LINGSHOU” growled the docter “Whatever. Shouldn’t she be getting some rest”? “Much as I hate to agree with that idiot, you do need rest”. Said Lingshou. “So, what’re you gonna do, lady, stay here, or go back out into that storm?”
She softened her expressions and looked down at the floor.
She glanced back at them with her crimson eyes, while the tension in the air tightened.
It was suddenly loosened when her fanged mouth opened to speak.
"I suppose I will stay here for a while. But if i catch anything suspicious, I wont hesitate to...."
She found herself unable to finish her sentance, her voice growing cold, but then back to soft as she smiled a smal smile her eyes closing slowly.
Her ears twitched as she said this, listening for anything suspicous.
She grasped the wall to get up, but found it difficult to do with one arm, she gritted her teeth as she struggled to get up using both of her arms.

The fox struggled to get up, but fell.
Ling looked at the big guy named Allen.
"Go get some sleep. Take the empty room."
Ling now sat at his desk, the girl strewn across the floor. She had broken the leather straps of his now flipped-over cot, and managed to rip off her cast. He and the girl remained silent. He placed the glass of water on his desk and put in some drops of a black solution. He watched as the black drops slowly permeated the fresh water, making odd shapes until all of the water turned black. He put the glass on a burner to boil.
Ling realized that the girl was staring at him the whole time.
"Do you want your arm to heal?" the girl remained reticent.
"If you don't, its fine. Less work for me." the girl lowered her head.
A thought struck Ling.
"If your a zoan..." the fox-girl looked up. "Shouldn't you be able to control what you turn into?"
((OOC:my name is Kiara))
She looked down again with a sad smile.
"That's right, but for some reason, I stay this way perminantly.
Some think I am part demon, but I dont even know.
It stopped bothering me a while ago.
Dont get me wrong I turn full and unleash special attacks, but for some reason this is my normal form,"
Looking back up, a thought struck her.
"Do you have any antibiotic cream or something?"
He looked puzzled, and asked her in an equally confused tone.
"Yeah, but why would you need it?"
"Just give me some please."
He reluctantly reached into a drawer of a near by dresser pulling out a container of it.
Slowly handing it to her he went back to the stove closely observing her actions.
She just sat there looking anoyed, and finally broke the silence.
"Well turn around!"
He didnt hear her for an unknown reason so she just grunted and turned her back to him.
She took off her shirt, her back to him, revealing something the doctor was indeed shocked to see.
Her back was littered with scars and such.
He just stared at thm while she applied the cream to her front.

After Kiara had applied the cream, Allen turned to go to the room he was directed to, he realized something. Allen stopped for a moment, and then turned around. “I’ve seen you before…” Allen murmured “You’re that spy that’s being hunted by the marines! You’ve got a 70, 000,000 bounty on your head! No wonder you were scared of being turned in... you’re one of the biggest marks on the sea right now!” Kiara had a frightened look on her face, Lingshou looked shocked, and Spike gave a startled yell from the other room. “Well”, said Allen “I’d never think of turning someone in. I just saw your bounty poster in the last tavern I played at, that’s all”. “Hmmmmm… maybe I shouldn’t have blurted that out in front of these two guys… That doctor character looks kinda dodgy”. “So the question I hafta ask is this: What’s a spy like you doing in a run-down dirty town like this one”?
