Kat didn’t know how long she’d been running, where she was running to or what she was running from. She didn’t feel the sharp twigs and branches cutting into her skin as she ran nor did she allow herself to think about the burning pain she still felt throughout her body from the missiles. “Save us...”
Just as those words echoed in her head she tripped over her long black robe and flew forward face first into a tree.
“Dammit I should have stayed in my new outfit” she thought regretting changing back into the oversized robe she brought with her to the ship. She almost smiled remembering how Davy said she looked cute in it. She remembered Graphite’s nasty comment about it as well. She thought of Gillains ridiculous poses, Mirage holding out the seeds to help her with her magic, Irhoks expression when he saw those trees and that almost caring look Erik always had on his face. She wondered if they had realized she was missing yet…
“No. Im not looking back!” She yelled and tried to stand up but tripped over her long robe again only to fall right back. “ Dammit!!!” She screamed.
Life had never been easy for her. She was always the dumbest in class, the weakest at sports, the screw up that couldn’t do anything right… But when she finally found the one thing she could do right her whole world came crashing down. The past month had been almost unbearable, but she hasn’t had a chance to cry or scream or had a chance to grieve for the souls she couldn’t save. So she finally let all the feelings that she let build up inside her out and burst into tears. Through her loud sobs she began to feel her head start throbbing... her heart beat triple... and her bright silver eyes grew darker and darker until they were a dark shade of grey. All Kat could manage was a weak cry as her soul was ripped out of her body and thrown into the future realm.

Dim light from the lantern enlightened the room enough for Davy to see Meano approach him and Erik.
A few minutes earlier information of Kat disappearing had reached Davy’s ears, and the talking dog was most probably not there to bring any consolation. In fact, Davy figured this malicious dog creature had come to inform them of terrible events ahead.
Though Davy found it hard to keep himself calm, he still made an effort, and managed with some level of success. ‘God…when everything had started to calm down too…’ Davy thought as he kneeled down by the dog.
Before the dog started speaking again, another thought passed Davy’s mind; ‘If she’s alone on that island…it could be disastrous…who knows what she could meet there…’
“The lassie went ashore, if ya must know. But be warned, that there is no ordinary island…” the dog began, clearly uninterested in Kat’s fate, “listen ‘ere…an’ listen closely…yer walk into some hot springs...”
Silence filled the shady room, obviously Erik, Davy and Irokh held the attention and were waiting for more. “That’s…it?” Irokh asked shattering the silence. Was that really it?
Davy sighed from relief and Erik stood up making a short, hesitant nod towards the tiny dog. Before they could relax, however, the dog began again: “Oh! Yer be seeing some volcanoes too…an’ even some of ‘em dangerous beasties, if ya got some luck.”
”What!?” echoed in the room as Irokh, Davy and Erik stood up with their hands clearly pointing towards the dog. Davy took a step away from the dog and feverishly scratched his head. Beasts? Volcanoes? Could it possibly be any worse?
Although the malevolent dog could have made it all up, something about the former journeys said it could be true. Irokh seemed to be puzzled and Erik was clearly suspicious, but they both seemed to have taken the words of the dog seriously.
A figure appeared in the shadows of the distant part of the room: “It seems we’ll have to organize a little tracking party on the morning. Any volunteers?”
Gillian stepped forth from the shadows with a slight smile. He had been listening to the conversation, and been the quickest to draw a conclusion, as expected.
Simultaneously, Erik, Davy and Irokh jumped up and opened their mouths: “Captain!”

The words “No ordinary Island” echoed in Gillian’s very much awake mind. He had heard Kat departing… but he had thought nothing of it. Gillian didn’t know what he had fooled himself into thinking, maybe that she was going out for a walk… he didn’t know. What he did know though, is that her disappearance was his fault. He was the captain, and thus taking responsibility for his crew actions lay with him, a lesson he had learned all too well in the Marines.
Gillian removed himself from the bed with much effort. The grinding of his broken ribs was painful, at best. He stepped out of his cabin onto the deck, to find the trio of Irohk, Davy, and Erik bickering with the Chihuahua. The dog had mentioned hotsprings, but had also mentioned a volcano… but what was that smell…?
A chill ran down Gillian’s spine. Sulfur. And that meant… active volcanoes. The stench of sulfur was overpowering. Which in turn meant a dangerously active volcano. He’d read about that in classes that he’d taken a recruit. There had been tales of Islands in the grand line that sunk in hours when The Volcanoes on them erupted. Gillian didn’t want to be a witness… but they had to rescue Kat from the impending danger of the Island. Gillian made his presence recognized by stepping out of the shadows.
“Gillian-senchou, it’s not wise for you to be out of bed now. Why don’t you just go back to sleep, everything is fine, Kat’s just run off, we’ll find her soon enough.
Gillian was in no mood for the soothing words of the doctor. “Cut the crap, Erik. I overheard everything. This Island has an active volcano, and by the stench of the Sulfur, I’d say it’s very, VERY Active., probably going to erupt soon. Kat’s down there, and I’ll be DAMNED If I let one of my crew members die on this God forsaken Rock. DO YOU HEAR ME?” He pounded his left fist into the mast, leaving 4 knuckle shaped imprints in the wood. “I’m sorry for shouting, everyone, but I can’t stand by idly while one of my crew members is out there, in mortal danger. I’d be a failure of a captain if I did.
“Gillian-Senchou, are you sure about the volcano? It could just be dormant…” said Erik
“I’m sure it’s active, Erik. There are some Volcanoes up in North Blue, but none as big and as drenched with sulfur as this one. Erik, please, tell me what I can do in my condition.”
“In truth, your condition is bad enough so that you won’t be able to actively search for her. However…” Erik went into one of the cabins, and came out holding two small snail like creatures. “I found these two-way den den mushi in our cabin the other day. With these, you and graphite can give your input on the search as it happens.
“Now”, said Gillian, laying out a rough drawing of what they could see of the island, “We all know that Kat headed into the island, we just don’t know where. Ideally, I would send 50 men to comb the island. Unfortunately, we have 3. This complicates things slightly. I’d say our best plan of action is to divide the island into three parts. I leave it up to you who takes what path, but whichever path you choose, make sure that you search each area as thoroughly as you can. So, which do each of you choose?

Irohk sighed heavily as he clenched the side of the table. "Ill take the west beach" he said as his finger landed on the right section of the map.
"But there is some problems" He said
"What tha'd be lad?" Asked Meano
"I can barely attack without a sword" Said irohk.

"What are you talking about?" asked Davy in confusion.
"I'm a swordsman. I don't have a sword." replied Irohk, rather matter-of-factly. "Or a shield, for that matter."
"What about those?" Davy pointed to the corner behind Irohk.
"Wha..."
"He means that sword and shield in the corner of the room" interjected Erik.
"Wait, what sword and..." turning around, Irohk's eyes widened in shock and amazement. "Holy! There's a freakin' sword and shield in the corner!" Rushing over to the dimly lit corner, he took the two items in hand. "Wow, these are nice. Perfect balance," he took a few practice swings, away from the others, of course. "Nice looking edge on the sword.... the shield's a perfect fit..." The young swordsman grinned from ear to ear.
"Where did those come from?" asked the confused captain, eliciting equally confused shrugs from the doctor and navigator.
"Come to think of it, I don't think those were there more than two minutes ago." mused Erik. After a short pause he continued, "Though I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised by something like this. All things considered."
"Who cares where they came from, I'm back in business!" Irohk laughed triumphantly, striking a pose that make Gillian proud (and a little jealous).

OOC: Mirage speaks rather formally when she's talking mostly un-nervously...
IC: Irohk felt a tap on his shoulder and turned to find Mirage. She smiled and pointed to the map. "The right side of the map would be the East, Sir... Irohk, was it?"
Irohk nodded slowly. "So?"
"A person with some knowledge of maps should accompany you, Sir Irohk. I may as well be that person," Mirage replied.
"Fine," Irohk replied. "But is it necessary for you to call me 'sir'?"
Mirage nervously took a couple of steps back. "Y-yes..."
OOC 2: I stopped there so as not to powerplay Irohk too much...

A rough sketch of the form of the island lay on the table. Light from the window indicated that it would soon be morning, and their search for Kat would begin. Davy held his hand on his mouth, trying to hide the massive amount of yawns which were coming from him; the night had been too long. ‘God I’m tired…’ was dismissed by another thought: ‘We have to find her.’
Mirage and Irokhs conversation told how bad Irokh’s sense of direction was, and it seemed to be necessary for Mirage to join him. Gillian gazed at Irokh with distrust and shook his head while turning towards Mirage: “Mirage, please do join Irokh on the search. Who knows where he could end up…”
Mirage stood nervously in the corner and made a little nod towards Gillian confirming her participation in the search for Kat. Everyone agreed on Irokh and Mirage taking the eastern path after suggestion from Gillian.
“I’ll take the western path then,” Davy started, holding back a yawn, “If you don’t mind taking the northern path, Erik?” he continued and sat down on the closest chair.
Morning was approaching but for some reason, there was no sound from birds or anything else, just silence. Most likely, the active volcano would be the reason for it.

"Erik, where did you disappear to?" the young doctor entered the room, carrying four small bags.
"I thought some advance preparations might prove beneficial in our search, Gillian-senchou." Erik smiled and gently placed canvas bags on the map table. Mirage, Irohk, and Davy grouped together. "I packed a day's worth of food for each of us, mostly just dried fruit, some bread and cheeses - it's amazing the things that just pop-up out of nowhere on this ship. There are waterskins just outside the door." he seemed to be talking more to himself than the group," Also..." his attention returned and, opening one of the four bags, he pulled out a small black tube, thin enough for his hand to wrap around it completely and a little less than a foot in length.
"A flare." Mirage spoke softly but certainly.
"Exactly," nodded Erik. "I had enough time and materials to make two for each of us. Whichever group finds Kat can use a flare to signal the other two groups."
"Also useful if we run into anything really dangerous." said Irohk, rather non-chalantly.
"Quite true." Erik smiled nervously back at Irohk. Why did he have to say that....
"The sun's almost over the horizon." Davy walked over to the table and grabbed a pack. "Let's get moving."

"wait a second" a voice was heard and everyone in the room quickly turned towards the door. Graphit stood there, slightly leaning on the doorway. "You weren't just gonna go without telling me anything now, were you?" he asked, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

~Meanwhile somewhere on the island~
For a few seconds Kats eyes drifted back and forth as she wondered where she was. Then she slowly remembered sneaking off the ship, running and tripping over and finally having a powerful vision. The vision… what did she see? She tried to concentrate and remember but her head was throbbing and her mind felt foggy making it almost impossible. Her eyes drifted down to the ground and soft earth beneath her seemed to remind her of someone. A sharp image of a man invaded her mind. A man with cold a conceited grin. A man with brown eyes that hungered for blood. A man powerful enough to move islands. She was sure her main prediction was off this man standing before her dressed in a marine uniform, drenched in dark blood staring at her with raw killing intent. Kat heart began to race and she shivered almost wishing she hadn’t remembered after all. I have to avoid that prediction coming true at all costs but the only way to do that as to prevent at least one of the three prepremonitions from coming true. What were they? …
Kat stood up and tried to wipe the dirt off her face and clothes. Now that she’s alone she wouldn’t stand a chance against a guy like that. As a matter of fact, Kat scanned the area around her and for the first time she realized that now that she was all alone on a strange island with no food, water or shelter she was in grave danger. What if she gets attacked by a swarm of giant wild monsters? What if the natives on this island were skirt wearing cannibals? What if she gets bitten by a mosquito?!
She was scared out of her mind and the only thought that came to her was of returning to the safety of the ship, but she quickly dismissed the idea. Those guys were better of without her. If she went back they’d be in danger of confronting the man from her vision as well. “Besides…” Said Kat out loud. “Even if I wanted to go back, I HAVE NO IDEA WERE THE SHIP IS!?”

Davy was eager to start the search for Kat, and was ready to jump down on the white shore without a sign of hesitation. If Erik had not made the appropriate preparations, like food and a flare, Davy would probably ended up lost and starving.
Before the party could leave, a bandaged Graphit appeared with a slightly disappointed expression on his face: “You weren’t going without telling me anything, were you?”
Before anyone could reply, another person appeared in the shade behind Graphit and bumped into him. “Graphit! Just the man I wanted to see…now let me tell you a little story, mate…”
Gillian stood behind Graphit with a slight grin, and started pulling him towards the room behind them. “Hey….wait a second…hey!” were the last words Graphit said before disappearing into the living room.
Erik, Irokh, Mirage and Davy took their leave and continued to the shores of the island.
A smell of sulphur and uninterrupted silence filled the island. Both were dire signs, and the “rescue-group” entered the island in utter silence.
After a little while, the party came to a place where they could finally split up. Small paths appeared to north, east and west, and this place would be an ideal spot to meet up when Kat had been found, or in worst case; when night came. Davy feared the last option.
Before setting off and bidding farewell, Erik once again reminded everyone of their flare: “Remember to use it if you end up in dangerous situations.”
A cool breeze passed the island as the party split up into the three different directions; time had come to find Kat.
Davy stepped towards the western direction and swiftly noticed the lack of any plants or trees in the area. The smell of sulphur had become impossible to not notice and Davy had a feeling that someone was constantly watching him. He sighed and told himself: ‘I’m tired…and paranoid’
After approximately an hour of walking straight towards west, the road was blocked by several huge stones, making up something similar to a wall. There was no sign of Kat, actually, no trace of anyone or anything.
Suddenly, Davy noticed someone on the ground a little south of where he was, just behind the large rocks. It should be unlike for someone to end up in an island like this, but Davy could not just leave the person there, even if it was some kind of a trap.
Davy jumped pass the rocks and saw the figure of a thin man with a ponytail lying down on the ground. Apparently, he was unconscious but luckily, alive.
Davy grabbed the man by his hand and lifted him up; he was not too heavy to carry compared to Gillian and Graphit.
After some thinking, Davy decided it was probably best to get back to the ship. Kat had not walked towards this direction; there were no footprints or anything else which indicated it. Hopefully, the others were able to locate her.

Davy, after finding an uncoscious man instead of any trace of Kat, decided to take him back to the ship. He quickly found his way back, as the man was light enough to let him move without slowing down. Davy arrived at the ship and climbed his way onto it. Suddenly, he heard a terrifying scream, coming from the living room.
"Graphit! Gillian!" - thoughts of his friends being in grave danger ran through his mind. Without caring about his condition, he dropped the man on the deck and ran to the living room, his hand gripping around the handle of his sword. He kicked the door open and rushed into the room.
The living room showed no signs of damage or intrusion. In fact, it was no different than when Davy last left it. The only thing unusual was two men sitting on the floor. Graphit sat with his hands and legs spread wide, his back against the wall and his neck bent down. He was staring blankly into the space, and drooling right onto the floor. Next to him was Gillian, sitting with his legs crossed and a wide, almost malicious smile on his face.
"...and that's how I became a lieutenant!" - said Gillian cheerfuly - "Now I'll tell you about..."
"ENOUGH!" - Graphit let out a sudden scream of despair - "AAAAAAAAAAAAH! You've been telling me those stories for HOURS! STOP! How can you do this to me? I even forgot about the adventure that everone else is experiencing now! See? I won't try to escape again, I promise!" - Graphit wept as Gillian continued his story.
Davy stood shocked for a while, his mouth agape. Suddenly, he started to chuckle. A small tear of laughter appeared in the corner of his eye. - "You can give him a break now." - he said to Gillian - "I found someone on the beach and I thought this would be the best place to bring him to."
Valencius was dreaming. He smiled while asleep. He was sitting in the best casino on the Grand Line, surrounded by barely clothed women and experienced his longest winning streak ever. On top of that, he was dead drunk with the best scotch he drank in years. The dealer was just about to reveal the river, when the woman right next to Valencius started screaming. Before he could do anything, he felt a strong hit in the back. The vision of the casino faded away. Valencius woke up, completely infuriated - "GODDAMNIT! MY FLUSH!" - he screamed. Suddenly, three men walked onto the deck. One of them was a short, one armed man with a sword and a huge scar. The second one was even shorter, with an enormous, completely unfitting marine coat. The last one was... a pencil.
Valencius exclamated his feelings with the only witty line he could come up with. - "What the..."

“GODDAMNIT, MY FLUSH!” yelled the now awake ponytailed man. Then, with mouth agape at the sight of Graphite, Davy, and Gillian, “What the-“ “You’d better finish that sentence up with the word heck.” said Gillian. “I don’t tolerate unnecessary cursing on my ship.” “YOUR ship? Just great, absolutely perfect” Said Valencius. “I can tell by the coat you’re a marine captain, so this is obviously…a…marine…vessel?” Valencius looked puzzled for a minute, and then something seemed to have hit him. “This is no marine ship. Everything, from stern to rudder screams pirate ship. Who are you guys really?” Gillian stepped forward. “We’re no pirates! We’re a crew of mighty warriors fighting for our dreams!” With a tear in his eye, Gillian continued. “My Nakama and I sail the grand line in search of hope, hope for a better life, a better tomorrow! We shall conquer all, and send the foes of truth and justice down to the burning pits of heck!” Valencius gave Gillian and company a deadpan stare. “So you’re GAY pirates, then?”
Gillian frowned. “You’re wrong there. I said we’re not pirates.” Davy tapped Gillian on the shoulder. “Uh, Gillian, we destroyed two marine battleships in open combat. We’re pirates. And I think that when he’s calling us gay, he means the negative connotations of the word.” Valencius breathed a sigh. “I mean every negative connotation that word could possibly have. At least there’s one with half a brain on this ship-“ All of a sudden, Davy’s words took meaning in Valncius’ mind. “YOU’RE TELLING ME YOU TOOK OUT TWO MARINE BATTLESHIPS BY YOURSELVES!?” Gillian shrugged. “We had help, lets see here, there was Erik, Mirage, Irohk, Kat…” Graphite spoke. “Shouldn’t Davy go out looking for Kat again? She could be in real trouble by now.” At the word “she” Valencius snapped out of his shock. “You have women in your crew? How many?” Gillian gave a wide grin. “Kat and Mirage. Why do you ask?” “No reason, no reason at all.” Mused Valencius.
Half a world away, it is almost dark. There is a large house within view of the ocean, and on the side of the house is a large bay window. There is a small child sitting at the window looking out at the sunset. The child appears to be looking on the window longingly, with a sad look on her face. A woman comes up to the window holding a baby, probably not much older than a year. All is silent, and the two have a muted conversation. Suddenly, the sound comes back on. Above the soft sound of the surf hitting the beach, this is heard: “Mommy, when is Daddy coming home?” The Women only smiles and replies “I’m sorry dear, but he’s never coming back, never again.”

Kat stared with awe at the widest collection of herbs she had ever seen. Most of them were extremely powerful ingredients for potions thus very rare on her home island. She had already filled the bag she made with her magic(after several painful attempts she would rather not think about…) with several insects and shrubs that she had found. The thought of all the powerful potions she could make with them during the full moon tomorrow night made her excited. “First I’ll start with a healing potion to help speed up Graphite, Gillain, Mirage and Irhoks recovery, then I’ll…” Kat stopped and frowned before correcting herself “They’ve all probably left by now. I’m sure they’ll be fine even without me or my potion, in fact they’re probably better off…” She mumbled to herself before she continued to pluck out a few thorny plants with purple and yellow leaves.
That’s when she first noticed them. Two fluffy pink ball shaped creatures about the size of and orange, with big sparkly blue eyes and huge grins.
“Aww… Cute little fluffy animals!” Said Kat out loud as they began making a soft purring sound. “I HATE cute little fluffy animals…”hissed Kat at the two odd creatures releasing some of her frustration on them. The pink fur balls instantly stopped purring and their blue eyes no longer sparkled but gave a dark eerie glow. One of their mouths grew to about ¾ of the size of its face and within a split second it lunged forward straight at Kat, barely missing her face and colliding with a thick pine tree behind her. Kat stared blankly as the tree fell to the ground and the fur ball turned to face her once again giving her another dark eerie look and revealing its razor sharp teeth that looked sharp and powerful enough to bite through a brick wall.
The first thing Kat thought of at that moment was of her first prepremonition. She had initially given up trying to remember them but that attack seemed to trigger something in her mind. A dark blurry vision flashed through her memory, were she couldn’t see anything but a black saber as dark as its wielders heart, and a shield with a ruby that sparkled like a thousand stars at its centre.
The second thing she thought of at that moment was: ...Oh shit

Valencius seemed to have disappeared into a world of his own when female crew members were mentioned.
Graphite smirked at Valencius, Davy shrugged and Gillian shook his head at the newcomer. Still, Graphite was right, Davy did trust Erik, Irokh and Mirage, but they knew nothing about the island and could easily have ended up killed by some monster. They had seen monster before, after all.
Davy snapped the bag from the empty floor and continued towards the door. “’Oi, guys...I’ll go search for her again.” he said, smiling widely towards Gillian and Graphite who were watching Valencius as if they were keeping and eye on a beast.
Suddenly, Valencius jumped up, avoiding the hands of Gillian and Graphite, and exclaimed towards Davy: “Let me aid you in your heroic search for the sexy...errr…brave maiden out in this dangerous island!” Davy sighed, but beckoned him to join; one more searcher wouldn’t be a bad thing, after all.
~ Somewhere on the island~
Irokh eagerly ran towards the left side of the path, only to be corrected by Mirage, halting behind him: “Sorry, sir…no…anyway, you’re going towards the western side again.”
Irokh yawned angrily, and started punching the ground in fury, no words came out though.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in the mist, on the western side of where Irokh and Mirage stood. Both of them stood up alarmed, and Irokh raised his brand new sword to meet this possible enemy. The air was tense, and not a sound except the closing footsteps could be heard.
Irokh gazed into the fading mist, trying to figure out who the person was.
“Hey! Long time, no seen.”
Both Irokh and Mirage sighed from relief; the mysterious person in the mist was no other than Erik, who now stood smiling and waving his hand towards Irokh and Mirage.
~Near the ship~
“I’m tired! Can’t we rest?” Valencius hit his fist on the ground, and stared Davy angrily in the eyes. Davy sighed at Valencius again: “Look behind you…we can still see the ship.”
Valencius groaned and continued with slow steps towards the, what seemed endless, path.
After a while, Valencius and Davy came to the same spot where the first search team had separated, and started the search earlier.
The island was indeed a gloomy place, and it did not make it better that they were in search of their nakama.
In the distance, four shades appeared. All of them still hidden by the thick mist.
When the first two appeared from the mist, Valencius leaped up pointing his left hand towards the person on the left side.
“THAT’S A WOMAN!” echoed in the silence of the island.
Before Davy could turn around, Valencius was in a wild sprint towards the group in front of him, Mirage and Irokh.
Out of reflex, Irokh pulled up his shield and entered a combat position, encountering the possible enemy in front of him.
Valencius took another leap to embrace Mirage in a hug, but ended up hitting his head towards the shield in stead.
Valencius was thrown back, and ended up making a move which most dancers would be proud of. The move made Valencius stumble across where Irokh was standing, and he continued towards the group of people behind them.
It was Erik and Kat! Davy felt relieved, and held his right hand on his face while shaking it. ‘Thanks Lord she’s safe…”
But then, the thought was dismissed by a scream, a fierce scream.
“YOU PERVERT!”
Erik was gaping towards Valencius who had fallen on top of Kat, and was touching her waist.
The scream was followed by a sharp sound, almost like the sound of a bullet, Kat had slapped Valencius.
Valencius stood up, his eyes looking furious and his mouth open: “She slapped me..!”

-- Earlier --
Erik was struggling through the eavy leaves and branches of the thick forest, thinking about Kat, and her reasons for abandoning them.
"Could she feel guilty for bringing the monster trees alive? It's true that she is rather clumsy with her magic, but that was a plain accident! She meant us no harm, and I'm sure no one was blaming her for anything. We might seem harsh, but we really care for our nakama. And you are one of them! So why did you run away?"
Erik was distracting himself from a feeling of guilt - after all, the girl escaped during his watch - imagining what will he say to Kat when he finally finds her. He stopped for a while and started looking around, although he knew that spotting Kat will be no easy task. Suddenly, he heard a low growl. He snapped out of his thoughts, turned in the direction from where the sound came, and started running. "Could Kat be in danger? I have to hurry!" - he thought as he took out his twin pistols.
"Oh shit..." - those words ran through Kat's mind when the furry ball of razor sharp doom jumped right towards her face. She ducked at the last moment, and the hellish critter bit right into the tree behind her. She heard a deep growl of disapointment and frustration, as well as loud noises of shattered wood. But she didn't have time for being afraid.
The second "furball" was just about to attack her. - "Well, at least there's no one here that i could hurt, so..." - she put her arms in front of her and started casting a fire spell. - "Please, work..." - Kat whispered to herself, closing her eyes and begging for a success. She released the spell and felt something strange is happening with her hands. She opened her eyes just in time to see the monster flying towards her, and a thick twig growing out of her left sleeve. "DAMNIT!" - Kat shouted in fury. - "None of my spells ever work! Why does it have to be ME?!" - the sorceress snapped. She grabbed the twig and hit the rabbit-piranha with the full strength of her overflowing frustration. The unfortunate creature squeaked in pain and flew back intho the woods. Kat threw away the twig and kicked the ground. - "How do you like that, you goddamn fluffy bastard? I hope it HURT!" - the girl shouted in anger. Then, a loud noise came from behind. A loud chomp mixed with the sound of crushed wood, and a while later a tree with huge teeth markings fell, barely avoiding Kat. An angered growl sounded from the place where the tree was previously standing. - "No... no..." - the sorceress mumbled, and turned around, covering her head with her arms, as the second monster attacked.
Two gunshot ripped the air. A loud shriek of pain almost deafed Kat. She slowly opend her eyes and saw the back of Erik, holding two still smoking guns. Her legs started shaking, and she started falling, almost feinting from the tension. Erik quickly turned around and grabbed her. "Thank god you're safe." - he said - "We were so worried about you. Why did you do this? You could have died just a while ago..." - he was about to tell her everything he thought of while searching for her, but he noticed that the girl was all shaking. He sighed quietly and helped her stand up. Erik looked up, and saw two shades approaching them. He quickly recognized Mirage and Irohk. He smiled with relief and started waving towards them. - "Hey! Long time no see!" - he shouted cheerfully.
With the corner of his eye, Erik barely spotted an unknown man running towards Mirage. - "THAT'S A WOMAN" - the man shouted with joy. The joy ended as soon as he met the hard surface of Irokh's shield. The mysterious person bounced off, doing an almost full double backflip and flew towards Erik. The doctor barely dodged the approaching figure. He jumped away and rolled on the ground, as he heard a soft thud, a shocked gasp and a sharp slap.
This definitely was a bad day for Valencius. First, the best dream of his lifetime was unpleasantly interrupted. Then, a really cute girl that he wanted to greet turned out to be really hard. Next, he bounced off, spinning in the air like crazy, and the ground approached him MUCH too fast. At least he had a soft landing. "Hmm... at least this one is soft." - he thought, when his hands grabbed the waist of the girl he landed on. Suddenly, he saw a bright flash in his right eye, and a wave of pain flew through his face.
"YOU PERVERT!!!" - Kat screamed fiercly, slapping Valencius. His head flew back, almost breaking his neck. - "She slapped me!" - shouted Valencius in disbelief. He looked at Kat for a longer time. - "What the hell? Why didn't anyone tell me she was just a kid?" - Valencius scrached his head in confusion. Kat quickly moved away from him, blushing. Everyone went silent for a while. Finally, Irohk walked up to Valencius, grabbed him by the clothes and pulled him up into the air. - "Who the hell do you think you are?" - said Irohk. - "Let him go." - Davy stepped into the clearly dangerous situation. - "We found him unconscious on the beach, and he offered to help us find Kat." - "Well, finding her definitely wasn't what he had in mind." said Irohk disguisted and dropped Valencius on the ground. Cotez quickly stood up and shoved off the dust from his clothes. He turned to Mirage - "My name is Valencius. Valencius Cotez, lady. Sharpshooter extraordinare!" - he said with a smile. Mirage looked at her feet - "P... pleased to meet you, Mr. Pervert." - she replied shyly. "Well, let's get back to the ship" - said Davy, and everyone walked away, leaving the shocked Valencius still holding out his hand to greet Mirage.

She wasn't sure how it happened but the next thing Kat knew she was back with the mysterious crew she had met only days before. 'They didnt leave me... They actually came looking for me..." She felt warm and safe around them, and after that night alone she was finally able to reflect and calm her heart so that the thought of running away was completely gone from her mind. She glanced at the bag of herbs and ingredients in her hand and thought about that maybe for the first time she might actually be useful to the crew. She thought about Gillain, Graphite, Eric, Mirage and Irhok and smiled with excitement just imagining the crazy adventures that await them. Then she thought about one more person... her eyes drifted to Davy who was walking a few paces ahead of her and her smile slowly faded away. He hadnt spoken a word to her since they found her nor had he even glanced in her direction. "never mind it's probably just my imagination" she hoped to herself before noticing mysterious child molester walk near bye.
She kept feeling a dark vibe from him as if her subconscious was telling her to get away from him, and not just because he was a child molester either... She had never met the man before but she had the feeling that they'd met before. Kat figured this was because she had seen him in one of her prepremonitions but as she still could remember them racked her brain trying to figure out what they were. Although she couldnt remember anything specific about the pervert a vision of the other prepremonition suddenly hit her.
"Guys... We need to pick up the pace..." Said Kat nervously as she began walking faster.
"Err... is there any particular reason why?" Asked Irhok as politely as he could.
"Trust me, your about to find out," Yelled Kat increasing her speed again.
"What the-? How long has the kid been out here again?" Asked Valencius tilting his head slightly at Kat. "Or has she always been a physco?"
"Oi!" Said Irhok and Erik at the same time each giving Valencius a sharp look.
"sshhh... I think I can feel it too... " Said Mirages voice beind them. "Something is coming...."

Davy sighed at the quarreling going on behind him. It seems he had found a total fool and a pervert earlier, and was actually hoping he had left the injured guy behind while he had the chance. But who was he, really? Though this might be the Grand Line, it was surely rather irregular to find someone alone on an island, unconscious and injured. How had Valencius ended up here?
Davy was about to turn towards Valencius and ask some questions, when he accidentally laid his eyes on Kat. She was staring at the ground, unmistakably troubled over something. Then, Davy noticed her eyes again.
‘Their personalities are…very different, but the eyes…damn it, they’re the same.’ Davy thought while sighing quietly to himself. How could two persons have so similar eyes?
Suddenly, Kat started to increase her pace and spoke nervously: “Guys... We need to pick up the pace...” At that instant, Davy knew something was wrong. It would be foolish to doubt Kat, judging from all her accurate…visions from their earlier travels.
The smell of sulfur had increased during their walk back to the ship, and now they knew why; behind them, the volcano had turned into a fierce mountain spitting out flame and magma wildly around it. The level of danger had just increased…a lot.
A single tear of sweat fell downwards Davy’s face, and his facial expression was abysmal; the volcano had erupted.
Valencius started cackling like a maniac and started whispering to himself: “This isn’t happening…this shouldn’t be happening…”
Irokh was gaping towards the volcano, but managed to turn towards the rest of the crew and said: “Guys…women…child molesters,” he began, emphasizing on the last word while staring at Valencius and continued, “We need to start running….NOW!”
~Meanwhile on the ship~
Graphite stood alone on the deck of the ship, gazing towards the distant mountain, when Gillian entered the deck. “Oi…Graphite…what’s the problem? Why are you making all these sounds?” he said, and walked up the small steps to reach Graphite’s position.
Then he saw it.
The only thing he could say at that point was, of course: “What the…”

"guys...women..chilmolesters...we need to start running. RIGHT NOW!!!" Yelled Irohk. They started running running feriously towards the coast.
"shit shit shit shit shit!" Thought Irohk as they were running. Irohk's arm then started to bleed again. Blood dripped out, and he started coughing.
"shit..im no science genious" He said coughing out the words, "But i think these sulfer fumes are getting to me" The others started coughing. Ash started to fall upon them.
"We need to get to the ship NOW" Said Davy.

“Were are they? Where are they?” said Graphite scanning the island before him.
“I don’t know I can’t see much from all the ashes.” Said Gillain leaning over the side of the ship squinting to get a better view. “Dammit they probably can’t see a thing in front of them either. Didn’t Davy leave behind his supplies after he found that strange guy?”
“Already on it.” Said Graphite as he looked through Davys pack and pulled out one of Erik’s flares. He aimed it at the sky and shot it but even the bright explosion of color from the flare could barely be seen through the ashes. “I don’t think they’ll see it…” said Graphite with a frown.
“Its ok, even if the just notice a tiny spark in the air that should be enough to guide them to the ship.” So they waited anxiously and continued to search until finally Graphite spotted 6 figures approaching the ship from a distance.
“I found them! They… they just might make it to the ship!” Yelled Graphite. Even with the gas masks Gillain made out of cloth they found on the ship the ash was really starting to affect their breathing. They had to get out of there fast.
“Ok Graphite, once they get to the ship we need to leave immediately…” Said Gillain as he and Graphite set out to prepare the ship, failing to notice that one of the six figures in the distance had just collapsed.
“Irhok!” Yelled Erik as everyone, except for Valencius, stopped running to aid the fallen man.
“What are you doing!? Has everyone forgotten that there’s a wave of molten lava RIGHT BEHIND US?” Screamed Valencius slowing down once he realized that he was running alone.
“This is not good. He’s unconscious *cough* and his wounds are starting to bleed again. At this rate he won’t *cough* survive for long.” Said Erik as he lifted Irhok with difficulty and began moving again towards the ship.
“Did you even hear me? All of us have been slowed down by these damn ashes and sulfur. We were barely making it before, and now you can’t even run with that guy on your shoulders. It’s called survival of the fittest… Leave him or you’ll die too.” Said Valencius looking directly at the doctor.
“You bastard!” Said Davy grabbing Valencius by the collar.
“*cough* No he’s right.” Said Kat. “There’s no way we can make it to the ship with Irhok in that condition. Erik you are the ships doctor, don’t forget that you are the only one who can help the injured Graphite and the captain… you need to survive.*cough* *cough*”
“I know that but… But I can’t just leave him here!” Said Erik.
“Ok it’s settled then.” Said Kat. She clasped her hands together then muttered a spell under her breath until a silver glow sparked at her fingertips. “Flame Shield!” She yelled as she then placed her palms on the ground before her. An almost invisible red-ish wall shot out from the ground around her palm. “*cough* As long as my hands touch this soil I can hold back the lava for some time when it gets here, you need to get Irhok to the ship.”
“I-I’m sure the spark from the flare I s-saw earlier was from that direction.” Said Mirage pointing forward. “I-It’s not too far away…”
“*cough* Wha- No! No way!” Began Erik looking at Kat then at Mirage and finally at Davy for some help in convincing them to change their minds. But that’s when the lava came in contact with Kats shield. As soon as it hit she struggled to keep her palms planted on the ground as the force of the impact pushed several feet backward, but thanks to Davy who caught her from behind she managed to keep the shield stable.
“We don’t have a choice Erik…” Said Davy as Erik stared at him with disbelief. “I’ll stay here and support her *cough* the rest of you get tot the ship. Gillain and Graphite are both injured and that huge ship will need to be prepared before we can leave. *cough*”
“What the- th-that girl isn’t normal is she?*cough*” Stuttered Valencius in shock.
“I won’t… No… No-” Said Erik.
“Don’t worry…” Said Kat through gritted teeth. “We’ll be there soon.”
“Come on…” Said Mirage to Erik. “*cough* S-she cant hold it for long…”.
“I think that’s about enough time. *cough* They should be on the ship by now…” Said Davy to an exhausted Kat a while later.
“*cough* You know you didn’t have to stay, I could have done it my self.” Said Kat with her palms still planted firmly on the ground and Davy still holding on to support her.
“Yah sure…” Smiled Davy at the stubborn young girl. “So… do you have any idea’s on how we can get out of here?”
“Well just one…” Replied Kat with a mischievous grin and began mumbling under her breath.
“huh?” Said Davy, but before he could figure it out Kat lifted her palms from the soil and turned to face the confused navigator.
“Teleport!”

Not again! Not again, Dammit! Erik swore and cursed under his breath as Mirage and he struggled with the unconscious Irohk. He scowled darkly at the slowly fading figure of Valencious - he wasn't even waiting for them! If Erik could have looked back at that moment he would have; but Irohk was heavier than the doctor and, being unconscious as he was, made carrying the swordsman even more of a problem. They're too young for something like this.... They're still children....
You're still a child yourself, the unbidden reply cut through his heart.
"Damnation!" Erik snarled, kicking at a stone underfoot and nearly falling in the process, eliciting a look of serious concern from Mirage. If she had not been helping to carry Irohk, both he and Erik would be laying face down in the ash-covered undergrowth.
"A-are you-"
"I'm fine!" he shot back. "I'm alright...." his voice grew milder and he attempted to smile, but rather than reassuring, Mirage found it to be a mockery of the doctor's usual cheerfullness. She had not known him for long, but she found this outburst rather uncharacteristic.
Anything else I could fix.... Knowing what I know now, I'm sure of it! Erik cursed again under his breath. But being caught in a lava flow would leave me nothing with which to work.... Biting back another string of curses and trying to calm himself down, Erik focused on the task at hand. There was nothing else he could do.

Graphit and Gillian were preparing the ship for sail when Graphit suddenly noticed four figures just beneath him. "They got to the ship!" he shouted happily "They made it!" he yelled again. Gillian sighed in relief and quickly went over to Graphit "Lets get them up here" he said, smiling. "Sure" replied Graphit and tossed a rope downwards. "Grab on and climb up" he shouted. Right beneath them, below the tall ship, Valencius quickly grabbed the rope and started to climb up, but Mirage and Erik didn't, instead, they tied Irohk to the rope. "What are you doing! get up here" shouted Graphit. "Irohk's unconscious" yelled Erik, "we need to make sure he doesn't get hit by the ship while he gets up".
"Ok" said Gillian "just grab on the rope and we'll pull you". Erik and Mirage now grabbed the rope, at the same time, Valencius arrived at the deck. "You got here just in time" said Gillian "help us pull them up".
The three men all stood in a row a pulled the rope and after several pulls Erik mirage and Irohk got to the deck.
Only then did Graphit noticed that out of the six figures he saw earlier only for were on the ship. "Wait, Wheres Kat and Davy" he asked. Erik looked at the ground for a moment before answering, "She stayed behind so we could escape, and Davy stayed with her". "WHAT!" yelled Gillian and Graphit together. "We had no choice" said Mirage, "t-thats the only reason why were alive now". "Well" said Valencius and patted Erik on the back, "They were both great people and we will never forget them". "DON'T TALK LIKE THERE DEAD!" shouted everyone together. "Kat said she will get here soon" said Mirage. "But how will they be able to get here?" asked Valencius. And almost like an answer, a loud popping sound was heard from above, followed by a sound of two screaming voices. Everyone looked up and saw Davy and kat, right above them, and as the two fell down everyone recited in harmony "What the...", but the sentence was cut short when the two, still holding each other, fell right on the unconscious Irohk.

“Teleport!”
In a matter of seconds, a silver flash of light appeared and consumed both Davy and Kat, holding firmly onto each other. Judging from the distinctive feeling and the radiance of the light, this was what had happened to Davy some time ago, when they had met the marine ships; and it was definitely not a feeling he would get used to, ever.
Davy held an even firmer grip on Kat, hoping they would land somewhere safe, and closed his eyes for a split second; then a small smile appeared on Davy’s unshaved face: ‘We’ll be safe..’
All of a sudden, Davy and Kat landed on something uneven, and almost soft. When Davy turned opened his eyes, an awful sight met him; Irohk’s injuries were worse, in fact, it looked as if it might be a matter of life and death.
Around them stood a crowd of familiar, happy faces, all looking both cheerful and still in fear of Irohk’s condition; Kat had saved them all – she truly was something special.
Erik, looking slightly troubled by the situation, instantly sprinted towards Irohk, checking his condition while everyone anxiously waited.
Davy made a short, concerned look towards Irohk, and turned to Kat: “Are you hurt? Is everything okay?” he said, forcing a small, tired smile; the events beforehand had been exhausting, and Davy was quite sure Kat had been the one using most of her strength during the last minutes. Kat answered Davy’s question with a nearly whispering voice: “Yeah…I’m fine. How are the others?” She looked fatigued and tired, in need of both rest and perhaps medical treatment. “I’ll get Erik here when he’s done with Irohk. Just wait here a second.” Davy said, smiling slightly again, and then turning his head towards Irohk lying on the empty floor of the ship deck.
“Irohk will be okay…but I need to treat him immediately.” Erik said, sighing in relief. Mirage, Gillian, Graphite, Valencius, Kat and Davy all cheered happily, hearing the good news from the doctor. Even Valencius seemed relieved and had an obvious smile on his face.
Gillian turned around towards the cursed island, gazing into the distant clouds of sulphur and said in a clear, bright voice: “We’re setting off, folks. This place is too dangerous…”
