Yea I really did think that accent actually did suit him but I wont really mind as long as his VA is good. Also I did notice something in the naruto dub where they showed Asuma smoking but if toonami can show that at around 8 how come funimation has to edit sanjis cigarettes as lolipops, I mean I know that him smoking might make kids be like "wow hes cool I want to smoke to!!!" or something like that but it just seems like those things that makes sanji cool, like whenever he beats an opponent he lights up a cigarette.

These seem like a really good staff, they use actors from the only good dubs, like YYH and DBZ.

The only one I've seen out of those might be Mireille from Trinity Blood. Was she that little witch girl? I can't remember.

What about Crispin Freeman? I just got off from watching .hack//Legend of the Twilight and I thought his voice may have been good for Zoro. I mean seeing Zoro with a Vegeta voice or an Armstrong voice is kinda weird to me...

Yeah, my bad on the voice actor id'ing but I stand by what I said in that she's great. as a matter of fact, the fact that she's Nami now works better for me.

Also, you gotta stop trying to hear vegeta's or armstrong's voice. Yeah, those are the voices he's most known for/most recently acted but listen to the difference between the characters Piccolo, Vegeta, and Alex Louise Armstrong. That should prove to you that he's talented enough to work diverse characters and come up with a good new voice for Zoro.

Guess you're right. I mean if he can go from serious characters like Vegeta and Piccolo to a crazy, muscle-bound, weirdo like Armstrong, I guess he can get out a good voice for Zoro. I still like Crispin Freeman's voice though, he also did Tsume from Wolf's Rain.

That's what's being talked about at Arlong Park, at least as far as I can tell as they were talking about how Funi said they'd be dubbing the openings and then they showed Crazy Rainbow in Japanese. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, they barely show Sanji's cig, and it's not like the previous Brand New World where they show any spoiler scenes.

As far as my opinions on the cast:

Luffy: My sister was here with me when we got the news and it really hit us out of left field. "Colleen?" I've always pictured Colleen as someone like Vivi, maybe Robin, but I've never heard her do a Teenage boy before, so I can't really form an opinion until I hear her as Luffy.

Zoro: Not the best choice IMO, I was hoping for someone who hadn't already voiced so many deep voiced gruff characters. But in all fairness, I think he can do an okay Zoro if he keeps in his "Piccolo voice" and doesn't sound too raspy (I was actually hoping to hear him voice someone like Smoker or Blackbeard)

Nami: Already said, I love Luci Christian, and I know she'll do a great Nami.

Sanji: Eric Vale's great, I actually pictured him as doing Bellamy , never expected him to do Sanji.

Usopp: A lot of fans including me, pictured Sonny Strait doing Sanji, but I think he's got the energy to do Usopp. I imagine his Krillin when he's hysterical and a more softer "Hughes" when he's serious.

Robin: Total newcomer to me I'm not familar with, I was really hoping for Laura Bailey. Let's wait and see.

Chopper: I love Brina Palencia, she's got a great range. But for some reason I can't help but imagine her Georgie voice (from Shin chan) as Chopper and I think "Ehhh" but she also voices the adorable Nina Tucker so I think she'll pull it off.

Luffy: Not sure what to think yet.

Zoro: He has to succeed at this.  Otherwise, THE WHOLE UNIVERSE IS GOING TO DIE!!!!

Nami: She was great as Kaname Chidori, so she'll do great.

Sanji: I'm sure he'll do fine.

Usopp: He'll do great.

Robin: no idea

Chopper: no idea

idk about favorite character but Zoro is one of the coolest, Anyway first post here so I'll give my meeger opinion.

Luffy: She can definitely pull the serious Luffy off if her acting as Hawkeye from FMA is any indication. The question will be the dumb/funny side of Luffy. Also as if we needed reminding, Luffy's japanese VA is a woman so that shouldn't be an issue.

Zoro: Freeman would have been good no question, but Sabat is experienced enough to know what he's doing, and he resume is impressive, so i'm going to trust that decision.

Nami: no issues here. that's good enough for me.

Sanji: Alot of people would like to have seen Steven Blum as him, but does he work with funmation much? I thought he usually does more geneon and manga animes. personally I think Blum would make a better Franky...but that is WAY down the road. Anyway if he can talk like a badass, i'll be happy.

Usopp: He can pull off serious and funny, the question becomes does it fit Usopp.

Chopper: I only recall her role as nina from FMA, and I think it could work. Though I thought the 4kids actor for chopper worked very well for the character.

Robin: like everyone else, we are completely in the dark on her. My dream actress was Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, but I dont think she works with funmation much either like Freeman and Blum. McGlynn would have been absolutely perfect as Robin.


As for movie 8, maybe they just dont have the liscencing yet on the older movies, or its simply a PR move on Toei's part to advertise it, or like some have said, an attempt to retell the Alabasta arc to fill people in who stopped watching it.

Dvd's...I wish we would get the older seasons first, but i'll take uncut any way i can get.

Heh, zoro's voice is pretty deep. he sounds more like an old man than a 19 year old o.O  The others are fine I guess.. I don't live in America so I'll never watch it in action anyway
