Re: X264 to XviD Encoding Guide (for slow computers or standalone players)

Ok Im having a wierd problem too its not any errors or anything. it just when i put the .avs in VirtualDub everything goes smooth for about 2 mins and all of a sudden everything stops. i dont know what to do can someone help?

when i look at the VirtualDub Status thing i see:

Current Video Frame: 1200/33253
Current Audio sample: 0/0
Video Data: 9057KB/(181KB/s)
Audio Data: 0Bytes
Projected File Size: 244.48MB
Video Rendering Rate: 0.02Fps
Time elapsed: 15:35
Total Time (Estimated): 7:35:10

the only thing going is the Time elapsed and the Total time
the Total Time just keeps getting longer and longer. i let it run for a while and its at 3days+ now and still climbing

Any advice?

Re: X264 to XviD Encoding Guide (for slow computers or standalone players)

Not sure if this exact problem was pposted before, so forgive me.

Trying to encode movie 6 to AVI. Here's my file.

Code:

DirectShowSource("[K-F]_One_Piece_Movie_06_[7BBE23A4]", fps=23.976)

It's in the same file as my virtualdub as well as the movie. I named the AVISYNTH script "06". The error says the audio and video was returned, saying a name or object could not be found.

Think anyone can help me find what's wrong? I have al lthe files needed.

You forgot the file extension, which I assume is .mp4. This should work:

Code:

DirectShowSource("[K-F]_One_Piece_Movie_06_[7BBE23A4].mp4", fps=23.976)

Ohhhh, I'm a dumbass. XDD Thank you. big_smile

Now to the next problem. The second I try to open it in VirtualDub, it'll goooooo, then error and I get a send error report and when I hit no, it'll shut down. T_T

-Zera

EDIT: I'm doinng this from a different computer, and it's good so far, but now I got a problem.

The LAME MP3 won't show up on the compression list...any way to fix this, or use an alternative?

Edit2: Okay, fuck that shit as well as it won't save the AVI! T_______T *Wonders if hte movie in the AVI thread is the full thing*

Did you install LAME? Did you install the XVid codec? As for the audio problem, what happened to me at first was that Nero had usurped all audio codec jobs. I had to kill that.

Re: X264 to XviD Encoding Guide (for slow computers or standalone players)

Lame is installed...but gotta do thaton the other computer I was originally doing it. All codecs are isntalled on both.

My problem now is this. On this computer, I try to save, it won't and say it isn't supported and crash.

The other computer which I originally did this on, I try to load the avs file onto the other one (Which has my DVD burn drive), VirtualMod will just crash and close down isntantly.

What pisses me off is I did that with that computer ages ago with a skypea episode. But now I try to load the file, it crashes.

By some chance might this work with VirtualDubMOD? But what I really need is to fix why the program keeps crashign every attemp to load the file into it.

I'm thoroughly confused.. i downloaded and installed the two programs, ffdshow and Haali splitter, and i've tried to follow your directions. But this part here,

-Start C:\VirtualDub\VirtualDub.exe

-Open 162.avs in VirtualDub.  You can use File->Open, or simply drag the AVS onto the VirtualDub window.

doesnt work... I dont even know what you mean by Start Start C:\VirtualDub\VirtualDub.exe... This file doesnt exist...

What am i doing wrong?

Hey, has this problem been addressed yet? I have the exact same problem this guy has--my converters can't detect these mp4 files at all.

Humm lets see, that means you double click on VirtualDub-1.6.11.zip after you've downloaded, make a new folder somewhere and call it VirtualDub (duh). Now copy over the contents of VirtualDub-1.6.11.zip to your VirtualDub folder (not going to fast for you am i?) close both folders.

If you want help you'll have to type out what you did, take screen shots of your "add remove programs window", screen shot of your avs file, and a graphedit of your avs file.

Do all that then we'll see if i'll have to go cut off one of dythim's fingers.

Re: X264 to XviD Encoding Guide (for slow computers or standalone players)

I did everything in directions and all the installing went well.
I also put the exact settings as the directions.
I started Virtual Dub and put in all the those settings as well, then I started the process, after a long while it finished.
I go play the file and there is no sound.
Was there something special to do with Lame MP3?

Edit:
Never mind, I think I fixed my problem.

The link for Lame mp3 doesn't work. sad So where can I get Lame?

Edit: Never mind. I got it anyways. But now I'm stuck. I get this message: The file 'LameACM.acm' on Lame MP3 Install Disk is needed. Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK. I can't seem to find where it is.

Just google it and download the latest version. Seems like whatever you downloaded is the wrong thing.

Oh thanks. I was able to find it. The other one I downloaded was weird anyways. big_smile

Edit: I can't see the "Advanced Options" button, so I decided to uninstall it. Unfortunately the link for Koepi's XviD Build doesn't work too. Btw, can someone please reupload the pictures from page 1? I just want to make sure what I'm doing isn't wrong. Thanks in advance.

You'll do well to read thru this and the X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions thread, and some idiot already put up the pictures on another server.

Don't ask and go find it your self, reading will do you some good.

I need help with this one, though:

I thought there were supposed to be six boxes in which I need to enter 2/4/2/4/2/4. So am I doing anything wrong?

The newer Xvid codec has changed a bit in format, so the quantizer settings are a bit different, but you should still be able to set them with slide bars.

I did install Lame mp3. And then in VirtualDub, I chose Full processing mode and for compression 48000 Hz, 128 kbps CBR, Stereo 16 KB/s. I saved it as AVI after that.

So in the audio compression menu it lets you pick LAME from the list, before choosing a frequency and bitrate? At any rate, you can drag the file before and after it is encoded into GraphEdit, which you can get here, to see what's going on with the audio.
