Arc 1: Escape from Trade Town! The Merciless Death Stitch Pirates Attack!
It was another blistering summer day in Trade Town, West Blue’s “Gate to the Grand Line”, and Piroquet Fondue was not a happy man, despite the fact that he was on a date with one of Trade town’s finest women, was sipping on an expensive drink of some fruity origin, and was rolling in bounty money. “So, Perry Darling, what shall we go do next?” said the woman, who was wearing a rather low cut dress. Piroquet stood up out of the café’s chair, stretched, and in his slow, deliberate tone, told her “I’m going to the bathroom.” And off he went, at a slow, deliberate walking pace, off to the café’s restrooms.
As Piroquet was finishing his business, there was a sudden, piercing woman’s shriek from outside. “Ouch, Zipped myself.” He muttered. Finding his way back outside, He saw A small group of rough looking men at the café’s entrance. “Oi, oi. What’re you people doing here that would make a woman scream like tha-“The Man turned, and Piroquet got a full look at a face he’d seen plastered over bounty posters for months now. “Jack ‘Mad Tailor’ Smith”, captain of the Death Stitch Pirates, wanted for a whopping 26 million berri. They said his crew was nothing to laugh at either, and a couple of them had smaller, but still significant bounties.
“So, you’re the one they call the ‘Mad tailor’. I’ve no idea why they call you that, but I’m going to take you down nonetheless.” Piroquet Gave the “thumbs down” as he said this, fully indicating his intentions to, as the kids said these days, kick some Arse. Jack merely laughed, and replied smoothly. “You think you’re match for me, kid? You’re 100, no, 1000 years to early for THAT! Not to mention I made a smooth deal with the spineless pile of Marine captain they have here not to interfere with us. Unless you think you can take a whole pirate crew yourself, you’d best stand down!” Piroquet Cracked his knuckles, Gave a thumbs up to his obviously frightened date… and got the hell out of there.
Running as fast as he could, Piroquet made his way through Trade Town’s winding backstreets towards where his apartment was. “Damn,” He thought, slowing down slightly, “I think I’m lost.” He came to a complete halt, lost in the vastness of trade town. Out of breath, Piroquet wheezed his way through a few more back alleys, until found himself at the town’s docks. There were a few kids there, and Piroquet had an idea. He went up to the group, and one of them thankfully recognized him. “Heya, Mister Fondue! What’s goin’ on?” Piroquet looked at the group quite seriously, and informed them of the pirate attack, forgetting to mention that he had fled so quickly. “Now, you guys, I need my special spear form my house if I’m going to fight these guys. Can you kids help me out and get it for me?” The kids all nodded, Piroquet gave them his address, and off they went.
Within 30 seconds of their parting, he noticed the large Pirate ship parked out in the middle of the bay. There were other, smaller vessels lined up at the actual dock, but none of them held a candle to the massive pirate ship in the bay. As he was taking a moment to fantasize owning such a ship, there was a cannon blast from the vessel of his adoration. It ripped through a small boat moored to the docks, and went through two more ships before finally stopping. There was a moment’s pause, and then the rest of the ship’s cannons discharged.
“Thank God something interesting happened today.” Piroquet, grinned, pushed up his sunglasses, and began to head back towards town... And adventure.
"Shit...I really pissed that guy off. Hehe... maybe I should have been more polite." Thought Felix to himself as he sat hiding in a small boat moored tot he dock.
"Shitty Pirate" Murmured Felix to himself.
A 23 year old boy, Felix Pang "The Reaper", with a 30 million berri bounty, was hiding under some blanket on a small boat.
"Aren't I just the COOLEST" He said to himself in the utmost sarcastic voice.
As Felix finally decided it was time to get out of the boat he heard a high whining noise.
"CANNONBALL!?" He yelled as he flew out of the boat and onto the dock.
"whew... That was a very very close one!" whispered Felix to himself as he saw the boat he was just in sink to the bottom of the marina.
"WELL... no use standing around here all day" He said as he stood up and patted himself off.
"OI OI OI!!!! FELIX! I'M GOING TO GET YOU!" Yelled a distant voice coming from the pirate ship.
"Uhm...WHO ARE YOU AGAIN!?" Yelled Felix to the pirate ship in the distance.
"I AM THE GREAT EDWARDO VOLLEYBACK! FIRST MATE OF THE-"
"Shove it up your ass" Felix said as he started to walk away.
Then Felix heard the high pitched noise again. He quickly reacted, grabbed his scythe with his right hand, and jumped as high up into the air as possible. Then, using both is arms, gave a full swing at the oncoming cannonball.
"Like hell that's gonna finish me!" Yelled Felix as he ran off into Trade town, once again looking for a place to hide.
The rain had stopped and the sun came out from behind the dark clouds. A gentle breeze caught the sails of The Enigma II as the flag of the Triviamaster Pirates was unfurled from its lifeless state. The quiet of the empty deck was shattered when the cabin door burst open, revealing a man in a white cloak holding a piece of lawn furniture. He took a few meaningful steps forward and looked towards the sky. “Hmmm, just as I figured. 2 hours, 15 minutes and 26 seconds. That storm definitely was a lightweight.” Walking out onto the deck, the man set down the lawn furniture and laid down on it, getting ready for another long nap.
Just as he was about to doze off, a large jolt sent him to the deck. The sounds of splintering wood and angry shouting subsided for a little bit as Meijin “Triviamaster” Trivalu stood up and rubbed his head. Walking to the side of his ship, he saw what all the commotion was about. It seems that his ship made port, in the most extreme sense of the word. Most of the dock next to him was in shambles and the front of his ship was well embedded in the dock. He glanced down to see a rather domineering stare from a large and ominous figure. “So, mister. Just how do you plan on repairing my dock?”
“One sec, ossan. Let me get some of my gear and we’ll talk out an arrangement.” Meijin headed into his cabin and got his weapons, which he strapped to his back and legs. Appearing back on deck, he saw the deck owner had come aboard and stood there with his arms crossed.
“This is a mighty fine mess you’ve gotten yourself into here,” said the giant of a man. “Yeah, sorry about that. I guess that I miscalculated how long I had until I reached this island. But seeing as I’m kind of strapped for “repair money” right now, why don’t we make a deal.”
The dock man glanced around, expecting to be ambushed by the scores of crew that he thought must be on this enormous ship. “Well, it’s going to have to be quite the deal for me to accept it.”
“Just let me leave the ship here for a few days. I’ll come back, get the rest of my supplies and you can have the ship.”
“OK. That sounds like a pretty good deal, but won’t the rest of your crew want to have a say in this?”
Leaping off the side of the ship and onto the remains of the pier, Trivalu called back, “Nah, my parrot won’t mind anyways, since he’s coming with me.”
Struck dumbfounded by this strange comment, the large man said, “No, your crew! Aren’t they all below deck.”
“Nope. They’re not even on this ship any more. But that’s a story for another time. By the way, I’m Meijin. Meijin “Triviamaster” Trivalu. The large man extended his hand for a handshake and said, “I’m Demin, the owner and runner of this dock.” After a hearty handshake, Meijin asked, “So, where’s a good bar around here?” Demin replied, “If you’re looking for a bar around here, might I suggest The Drunken Roger?” Trivalu turned towards town and said, “Come on Quiz, let’s go.” From the heights of the ship, a parrot swooped down and landed on its owner’s shoulder, “AWWK! AYE AYE, SIR!”
Arriving at the bar, the Triviamaster saw that a commotion was just dying down. He put his white hood up over his head and asked the bartender for some food and booze. The bartender was as large and ominous as the dock owner, “Maybe they’re brothers.” Meijin thought to himself. From behind his sunglasses, out of the corner of his eye, he could see what seemed to be part of the cause of the previous commotion. In the back were some pirates making quite a ruckus and carrying on. “You see that guy run!? Ha! What a total coward!” There were only three men in the booth surrounded by an enormous amount of empty glasses.
The bartender came back over and put the food down with a bottle of rum. The intoxicating bouquet caught Trivalu’s attention just long enough for the bartender to get a word in. “They came in about an hour ago and started acting like they owned the place. Most of them have already left, but apparently those three know a good bar when they see one.” With a burst of laughter, the three men stumbled to their feet. They seemed to be rather poor as most of their clothing had patches on it. As they headed for the door, the bartender cleared his throat, “Ahem! Don’t you boys think you’re forgetting something?” He held up a tab with numerous lines on it. “You also have to pay for your friends earlier.”
All three men stopped at the door, the largest one turned around and seemed to sober up immediately. He walked slowly to the bar and said, “Pay? I don’t think you get what’s going on here. We own this town now! From now on anything the Death-Stitch pirates want, we get!” Everyone in the bar had their head bowed so as to not make eye contact. There was no sound except for the drop of a fork onto a plate.
Meijin got up from his seat and reached into his right pocket. He turned from the bar and approached the menacing figure. The pirate stood at least two or three heads above the Triviamaster. Looking down at the white-hooded man, the pirate scoffed, “You think you want to leave without paying too?” In a deep and meaningful tone, Trivalu replied, “Every choice has a consequence, every consequence a price.” The pirate sneered at Meijin and said, “You bein’ a smarty, ossa--“ With a sudden upward thrust, Meijin punched right underneath the pirates chin and jumped into the air screaming, “1000 BERI PUNCH!!” Meijin landed on his feet as the large pirate was knocked flat on his back, unconscious. The two other pirates were stunned and started to sweat. With his fist still in the air, he opened his palm to reveal a roll of coins. He let the coins fall on his defeated foe. “Keep the change.”
The two pirates grabbed the large pirate’s shoulders and quickly dragged him out of the bar. Everyone stared blankly at what they just saw. Trivalu still stood in his finishing pose. The room burst into cheering as he bent down to pick up a spare coin. He flipped it towards the barkeeper and walked out the door. Off in the distance, he heard cannon fire and explosions. Even though his ship was no longer his, he hoped it wasn’t being fired upon. Turning down an alley he made his way towards the blacksmith.
“Thank you very much!” rang from the shop as the Triviamaster left, holding his new acquisition. “It took me a while to find, but now I can develop a great new attack,” Meijin thought as he clutched the metal bar. The sun suddenly appeared to go dim as a shadow blocked his path. Up ahead were three figures, one of them was much larger than the other two. He heard a familiar voice yell, “We’ve got some unsettled business, you and I!”
"Just. . . one. . . more. . . drop. . ." A teen, or at least what would be a teen if he wasn't covered in scars and metal, said as he slowly tilted a vial of purple liquid over a container of blue liquid softly bubbling over a bunsen burner. Just as a drop of liquid was about to fall into the concotion a loud. . .
Shook the small room causing the teen, Ben, to loose his grip on the small vial dumping it's entire load into the concotion.
"Ah, Seastone," Ben cursed as it turned green and began rapidly boiling, after about fifteen seconds of that. . .
It exploded launching him through the wall and down to the street a story below.
"Ugh, I'm gonna feel that tommorrow," He dryly commented getting up and cracking his neck, much to the astonishment of the onlookers. Looking off to the harbor from which the offending cannon blast had come from he sighed at the waste of a perfectly good experment, "Well I suppose I should go do something about all that, ugh, but I so don't want to, oh well, the life of a wanted man is never easy."
Once at the harbor he looked at the large ship which the blast had so obviously come from, the reason it was so obvious was the simple fact that they were still firing at what seemed like random.
"Idiot pirates must be drunk out off their mind, hmmm. . . such a waste of good gun powder," he sighed heading towards the ship with a slight limp when suddenly it fired on him, sighing again his metalic right arm shot up faster then it should have been able to and caught the cannon ball out of mid air, "Here, take this back, BLUE POLE!"
With that the cannon ball shot out of his hand and flew towards the ship as fast as if it had actually been shot out of a canon, or in other words the Death Stich's ship now needs some stiches.
"Knock knock, anybody home?" Ben commented with a smug grin. . .
On a arriving ship to Trade Town a baby starts crying and a little 8 year old girl starts screaming.
- The giant spiders again! mommy let get out of here FAST.
- I told you there are no spiders in his sea. And why is your brother crying like this?
- It's the spi ~~
- /enough/ is enough!
Two seats back a very tall, pale skinned, dressed in black guy smirked malevolently as the baby slightly irritated the passengers in the room with its annoying buuhu. Gotta love babies. Ain't it right my little ones?. And, as he thought this, from the right angle, one could see a wallet-sized spider apparently melting itself against what looked like a shining interior shirt.
"News from the commander. We received information that Pirates are attacking our destination. We will remain on stand by here and try to keep warn the marine force before approaching the the island."
( - Mommy, how can we get away from the spiders now????)
Stupid pirates screwing my schedules hun ... not a chance in hell - "hehe" - And, with this thought, the long black jacket man lifted from his seat. Headed for the deck and, without a split second of doubt, launch itself into the calm sea.

Gazoushi was as busy as it always was at this time of day.
Gazou Hashi, the restaurant keeper, was tending to the guests, taking orders, and so on. She was clad in a marine blue kimono with a white flowery pattern, her hair in a topknot with two chopsticks put through it, geisha-style getas on her feet.
In the kitchen, the usual hectic work was being done. Rice was being formed, fish was being cut, nori was being wrapped, meat was fried, sake and water was poured, and so on and so forth.
Gazou Koi, the daughter of Hashi, was right in the middle of preparing a takeout order of a dozen rice balls with various fillings. That's when some commotion was heard from the restaurant. None of the people in the kitchen even raised an eyebrow at this - it didn't sound like anything out of the ordinary. Not in THIS town. Not in THIS restaurant.
Thus, Hashi was by herself welcoming a fairly identical trio of scruffy-looking men. Their clothes were all stitched up, and they were carrying swords. This was still not seen as anything out of the ordinary.
"Welcome, honoured guests. Table for three?" Hashi bowed in front of them.
"Food." The pirate in the middle growled at her, as did his stomach.
"Certainly. Would you like to look at our menu? I believe the table in the corner is free, let me just clean it up for you."
"Just give us the best you have here."
"Then, let me recommend our Golden Gazou combo. Please be seated in the meanwhile. Would you like anything to drink while you're waiting?"
"Coming right up. Now, if you would follow me." She somehow managed to lead the trio to the table and get it cleaned without much trouble, before sending their 'order' to the kitchen. Taking down a bottle of fine sake from a shelf, she brought three cups to the table and served it to them. Having emptied their cups in a single sweep, they started drinking directly from the bottle, tossing it to each other.
"Did ya see when I split that guy's skull right apart? Hah hah!"
"How about the last island then! How they screamed!"
"Don't forget how captain nailed that guy to the wall! Literally!"
Continuing the conversation in this manner, it was not long until Hashi returned with another bottle of sake and their meal. A Golden Gazou combo, various dishes with very fine ingredients. They went through three more bottles of sake before finishing their meal. As one of them stood up, Hashi approached them.
"I hope you have enjoyed your meal. Now, your total comes to-"
"You think we're going to pay for this!"
"Yes, I believe you are going to pay for this."
"Think again, missy." The pirate drew his sword, pointing it at Hashi.
"Dear customer. It is not good form to draw weapon on the one who has fed you."
"I can't stand your attitude!" As the pirate raised his sword to strike, Hashi pulled the chopsticks out of her topknot. As the sword came slashing down, a metallic sound was heard.
"A customer is always a customer. But if you intend to not pay for your food and attack the staff, you are nothing but thieves." The sword was stuck. Hashi had captured the end of the blade with the chopsticks, and the pirate seemed unable to move it.
"Now... are you going to pay, or not?"
"No!" As he pulled on the sword, Hashi let go of it. He quickly made another slash, but Hashi dodged it, changed the grip on her chopsticks and pushed her hand towards the pirate. He fell motionless to the ground, the chopsticks lodged a fair bit into his chest.
"What? You bitch!" The two other pirates was standing up with swords drawn. As the situation had gone from 'ordinary' to 'not so ordinary', a few of the kitchen staff had come to see what was going on. Among them, Gazou Koi and Gazou Maki.
"Carp! Go and see if there's something going on outside. Me and Maki will handle things here." Carp was the nickname of Gazou Koi. It was used by everyone, at all times.
"Sure thing!" She grabbed a knife and ran outside, looking around to see if she could spot anything else out of the ordinary. Hearing growing noises from the general direction of the harbour, she set off down the street.
"What do you mean we can't land here, we are going to be sitting ducks out here as much as we are going to be in the port. All we need is that loony gunner to turn on us and were done." Clara was ranting at the captain but he wouldn't have it. No one port being attacked and he wouldn't even go for the other ports around the Island.
Storming out onto the deck she saw someone leap over the side. 'Must be either desperate to get away or join in' she thought. Watching him swim away she couldn't help but notice the currents and how it was pulling him towards the Island. She ran back up to the wheel house, pulled out a map of the waters around Trade Town. Pulling her throwing knifes she stuck one in each side and saw the problem. The ship would be pulled in if they tried to stay here.
The Captain had seen her run into the wheel house and followed about to throw her out and back down with the passengers.
"Look Clara I know your Father got you here but tha-"
Clara cut him off quickly silencing him with her hand. "Shut up will you for five seconds and look how much we are drifting already. We will have to dock at this rate and in another five minutes we will be along side the 'mad cannon' and you of all people want that?"
The Captain shocked into action got the crew working again and told Clara to take it into a port just around the Island away from the pirate ship. "Men when we land get the passengers off and ready your weapons we may have a fight on our hands."Smiling to herself Clara left him to it letting him go back into his position of command and to pretend that never happened.
Guiding the ship into part she checked her belongs and pulled the two throwing knives out of the map and left it to roll itself back up on the table. She Left the ship quickly before the Captain could shout at her any more or try and keep on on the ship where it would be unsafe. Atleast he's unloading the passengers though, small consolation.
"Dammit, that barber didn't even know how to hold a sword, let alone shape hair with one."
Kuruwa Hile was decidedly disgruntled as he stepped out into 3rd street. He'd been searching for a proper hair salon all day, but not one of the places he'd tried had taken his place seriously. Seeing as he'd already been at it for almost seven hours, he decided to to just find one more place before dinner.
Maybe I'll try that shop down by the docks, I'm sure those seafarers are handy with a blade.
Kuruwa started walking north with a quick, determined gait. Despite the fact that the rain had stopped, the dank, wet, gloomy atmosphere wasn't helping his mood at all. The tall en-shrouding buildings made him feel trapped, and he could help but feel disdain for all the nameless people bustling around him. "If I'm ever mayor of a town, I'll outlaw all humans."
As he strode along, pondering these dark thoughts, a strange sound came to his ears, it was a kind of, high pitched whistling sound. Kuruwa was sure he'd heard it somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place were. Suddenly it dawned on him. "Everybody jump in the air!" He screamed as he himself dived for the ground.
No sooner had he said this than the cannonball smashed into the row of building to his left, plowing through four storefronts before exploding into a liquor store! Searing fire burst out into the street, and thousands of tiny pieces of glass flew outward like a whirlwind of death! A man standing next to the store who had foolishly taken Kuruwa's advice was cut down instantly. Liquid fire poured out onto 3rd street, the flames licking at Ku's sleave.
whew, that could've gone worse.
Standing up, Ku ignored the screams and urgent shouting that filled the air around him, and looked off towards the shipyards.
hmm, pirates? Ah, yes, that's where the cannonball came from. My my, what a big ship. I'd bet their captain has a decent bounty on his head.
A grin slowly crept across his face.
With a crew big enough to man that huge ship, there's no way the captain would need to get his hands dirty. He'll probably stay on the ship, and be giving orders.
Ku looked up and started turning around, looking for a tall building with a good vantage point on the harbor.
"Aha! There you are."
Ku had selected a tall, if not slightly decrepit, apartment building that had a small, almost un-noticeable window on the top floor facing north. Bounding up the front steps and bursting through the door, Kuruwa all but leapt at the front desk.
"SIRSIRSIR! Listen do you have a, well I know you do but rather WHERE is the window on the top floor facing the har- YOU BETTER BLOODY WELL BE LISTENING TO ME!- facing the harbor?
Taken aback by Kuruwa's outburst, the poor clerk tried to studder out an answer.
"I..uh..I mean..I..I don't think we, uh, have...any, uh, windows facing nor"
"Don't try to fool me!" Kuruwa cut in as quickly stuffed the apartment's bowl of obligatory greeting mints into his coat pocket "What room is on the highest floor on the north side."
"uh..oh, I believe you want room number 423, but..umm..I think that room is already occupied sir..Sir?"
The clerk looked up from his logbook only to find that kuruwa wasn't even in sight. Running up the stairs four steps at a time, he made it to the top floor and started sprinting over to the room at the end of the narrow hallway. "423, here we go."
He kicked in to the door, Breaking it off both rusty hinges and sending it flying straight back into the fairly spartan room.
"hm, no one home, that's good. Rather mundane room though, whoever lives here must never pick up their junk. And no window either." He looked around the room
"of course, the bathroom"
walking briskly into the bathroom, he dropped his bag onto the toilet, ignoring the running shower. "Good thing I brought the hummingbird along today" He said as he pulled his leg length sniper rifle out of the bag and started attaching the scope. A head poked out from behind the shower curtain.
"Wha... What are you doing in here!?"
"Whatever I want to little Miss lewd, and how are you?
Plainingly shocked and frightened, the girl started screaming.
"GET OUT! GET OUT OF HERE THIS INSTANT!
Still not looking in you her direction, Kuruwa rolled his eyes.
"The increasing idiocy of the common person confounds me more every day. Why on earth would you be telling the man with a large gun to get out?"
The girl suddenly turned deathly pale, she clawed a towel into the shower and then ran past Kuruwa out into the hallway.
"what an annoyance, but still, this has a perfect view of the harbor.
After carefully opening the tiny windows, Kuruwa rested his rifle on the window seal.
"Now I just have to wait until the captain comes on deck, and then pop goes the weasel"
After about only ten seconds, Kuruwa saw a glint in the corner of his eye, a glint he'd seen all too many times before. Jerking his head away from the scope, he fell backwards and let out a stifled shout. Right as he hit the floor a large caliber bullet flew the space where his head had just been and smashed into the far wall. Taking a portion of the window siding with. Kuruwa couldn't help but smile.
"A sniper bullet eh? And I didn't notice until it was almost too late."
He grabbed pack and started bounding back downstairs.
"Now this is getting interesting."
It was a hot summer day nothing to eventful happening, a few civilian cargo ship came into port. The kind of day one just likes to lay around and drink. It was days like this that Allen loved the most. He had been sitting in southwest part of the port for some time now hoping he would find a crew to join that would last the harsh trip into the grand line. He walked out to the deck of his small ship and was about hop off and was about to go into town and see if he could pick up a few small bounties to pay of his docking fee and score some rum. Just as he steps off his ship a cannon shot rings out. Allen thinks to him self, “It couldn’t be. What pirate in their right mind would shoot off rounds in a marine controlled town.” Then he hears a scented shot ring out followed by many more. Allen smiles and thinks to himself, “ and to think I didn’t think anything would happen today. Well better go see what this is all about, this could be my lucky day.” just as he starts walking toward the sound of canon fire he hears a humming sound followed by a loud CRASH. He turns around and his mast and half his cabin are gone and his ship is starting to sink. Allen quickly jumps back to his ship and grabs what he can, he puts it all in a cloth bag and hops off the ship. “Well I was going to see if I would want to join this group of pirates”, Allen said to him self,” but it looks like I’m going to end up taking what every bounty they have” Its at this time one of the dock workers runs out and yells to Allen, “ You out there, you ok?” Allen tosses the dock worker his bag and tells him to hold on to it for him. Just before Allen runs off he turns back and tells the dock worker “ If you take any thing from that bag or don’t have it when I come back. I will be the last thing you see, You get me?” the dock worker shaking and nods his head. “Oh and one more thing” ,the dock worker cringes, “If you do keep it safe I’ll let you keep what every you can pull up from my boat hell I’ll give you the boat its no good to me now” Allen then leaps up to one of the roof tops and stars heading to were the cannon fire came from… Allen thinks to him self “ and to think I was just going to take in a few small bounties today”
Allen could see were the pirates were landing , so he stopped on a roof just shy of were they were. Allen then transformed into hyena human hybrid being very careful to stay out of sight. Allen said to himself, “now lets see what you’re up to…" "hmmm Oh the Death Stitch Pirates" he said with a bit of a grin,"Looks like I won’t have to work for some time after I take a few of them down” up on his perch over looking there landing sight Allen was waiting for the right time and targets to show there heads...

”Just peachy .” muttered Piroquet to himself, kicking a pebble off of the cobbled street of the docks road and into the water of the harbor. He’d nearly forgotten about the fact that he needed his spear, and that the pack of kids he’d sent for it might be back any time now. By this time the pirate ship was concentrating its canon fire towards the center of town, and away from the ruined ships at the docks. Piroquet was just about to head the directions his gofers had gone, when He spotted a lone figure headed down the main street to the docks. The smoke from smoldering buildings was making his eyes water, so he couldn’t see the figure clearly, But he figured he’d warn them of the danger nonetheless. As Piroquet strode up, the figure turned towards him, and he saw the glint of a knife in the person’s hands.
“Whoah, now. Please don’t point that thing at me.” Piroquet said, coughing from the increasing volume of smoke. His watery eyes, coupled with his heavily tinted sunglasses kept him from seeing the person at the distance of only a few feet. “Look, sir. Can we get out of here? There are pirates here, and I’m not fond of seeing innocents get hurt.”
“Sir?” said the person, in a decidedly feminine voice. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Are you blind or something?” she said, giggling a bit.
Piroquet felt like a bit of a moron, but something like this wasn’t going to trip him up. “Look, Miss, we should probably get out of here. I have a feeling that this place might not be safe for long.”
Sure enough, a squad of goons piled out of an alleyway mere seconds after Piroquet had spoken. They brandished sabers, and their clothes were stitched together rather crudely.
“Well, Hell.” said Piroquet, Putting himself between the girl and the ruffians. “Miss, you might want to get back to a safe place. This might get messy.” Piroquet put up his dukes, and yelled “ZONE!”
The pirates were snickering. What was that idiot doing? He yelled “Zone!” and was acting all cool, but nothing had happened! The goons looked at each other, than grinned maliciously at the pompadoured, sunglasses-wearing idiot in front of them. They rushed him all at once, cackling as they ran. They reached striking distance at about the same time, but before a single pirate could even so much as swing, there was the sickening sound of bones breaking from multiple places at once. The first pirate collapsed in a heap. Pirate #2 Went down before his eyes could widen from shock. #3 had time to almost realize he was in trouble before he was dealt with. The fourth and final pirate dropped his saber accidentally, and before the thing had time to hit the ground, he was face down in the street.
Piroquet dusted his hands. “Small fry, hardly even worth dealing with. You okay?” Blinking, the girl nodded rather numbly. Piroquet held out a hand. “Piroquet Fondue the IV. Please, just call me Perry.”
The girl shook his hand. “Gazou Koi. Just call me Carp. Everyone does.”
“Alright, Carp, nice meeting you. I’ve got a pirate captain to deal with…As soon as I can find my spear.” And with that, Piroquet took two steps before realizing something. “Carp, do you need an escort? It probably wouldn’t be very gentlemanly to leave a lady out on a pirate infested street alone-“ Piroquet was cut off by a cannonball whizzing past his face. It zoomed out into the harbor, and blew a largish hole above the water line in the Death Stitch Pirate’s ship. Piroquet was definitely sweating, and he looked up the street to a large man with a metal arm. “Oi, Bastard! What do you think you’re doing shooting…cannon…ball…from…? Where did you shoot that cannonball from?”
Run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run.. "Oh look! Alley and a tall building. How convenient, I can climb this thing and see what's happening at the port since I left"
Felix quickly ducked into the alley way and climbed up the side using his scythe as a hook to help climb. As he reached the top he quickly ran over so he could peer down at the port, where there were now 3 figures, one man, a woman and another big miss shaped shadow, as well as 4 bodies.
"Hmm...could those guys be pirates? taking down innocent civilians, cruel bastards!" But when Felix looked closer, he realized they weren't from the ship that he pissed off earlier, "What's going on here?"
Confused, Felix quickly climbed down and ran towards to port to see the three figures talking to each other.
"This could get quite interesti-" Felix couldn't finish his thought as a marine appeared around the corner. Damn
Felix quickly ran into a side road and started to run away from the port, the marines closing in on him. When marines appeared in front of him, he knew he was trapped, and the only way out was to fight.
"Felix the Reaper EH!?" Yelled a marine from behind, "You look like just a kid! HA!"
"You are SO going to regret saying that" Replied Felix with an intimidating glare. The Marine clearly taken aback, rushed Felix, and so followed the other 10 or so.
Quickly, Felix took out his scythe and swiped at the guns of 4 marines, cut them clear in half, and may have even gotten the arm of a few of the marines. He kicked a marine in the shin, and jumped in the air and landed on the shoulder's of the man who was just yelling at him. Butting the butt of the scythe on his neck, he pressured him into falling over, thus finally giving Felix a clear escape route.
"Seeya later" Said Felix with a smirk, swiped a big letter "F" into the back of the marine he was standing on and said "Just a little something to remember me by" and left towards the port. By the time he made it back though, the 3 figures had disappeared and he was left alone on the port.
"I took way too long"
Demin was a calm man, but today it seamed to be a not-so-calmed day. First a ship had just barged into his dock. Second the owner of a ship a strange man with a parrot as a crew gave the ship on a whim. Third, Pirates were attacking town and the marine weren't doing anything about it. And four, the strangest thing all day just appeared before him.
The sight was curious: a tall person, standing and not moving a muscle advanced, like magic, towards him ... from the ocean!! As it drew closer he saw that a desk-sized thing was below the man and little fins were tirelessly making the odd device move forward. The huge pirate ship attacking had focused its attacks on the center of town and nobody seamed to notice the strange situation.
As the man reached the dock and started to climb the stairs where fisherman approached the water with, Demin quickly walked towards him ... more to see the strange device then any other thing. Alas, nothing was there when the man took a paper from its pocket.
- Demin I suppose?
- Yes ...
- I'm Varandra Pulver. I called you some days ago and reserved a boat trip to the Grand Line. You told me that it was rare to have such a trip but it could, in some cases, be arranged. I'm here to see if this is easier to "arrange" when I'm here to see it "arranged".
Demin was a huge man and quite sure of himself. But this Pulver guy attitude made him strangely uneasy, as if someone was making a joke he didn't undrestand... a joke about /him/. More then that, all that back clothes with pale skin, the tallness and calmness made him feel he was talking to some vampire out of the old histories. He was quite sure that Pulver would be cold if he touched him.
- Well. As you can see the town is under attack and as it is nothing much can be done regard travels to anywhere. Much less the Grand Line ...
Pulver stood for a while with a expressionless face and then Demin saw a hand-sized, weired color frog getting out of his trousers. The big frog jumped onto the water and disappeared in the direction of the huge attacking pirate ship.
After that Pulver, with a steady but slow step, started to head the direction where the pirates most likely had their boarding ships - from where the attack had started.
- Where are you going? Ya listening to me? Those guys are dangerous! And what's with the frog?

Watching from the corner the Captain of that little passenger boat was not in the best of moods. Most Captains would of pushed back out to sea by now and made a break for the next Island or gone for the Marines port, but not this one he was too stubbon and that would get him into trouble. Sighing to herself Clara almost walked back when someone grabbed her shoulder. 'This had better be good' she thought. Turning slowly she looked up into the face of one of the pirates from the ship.
"Does the little girl want to come and play with the big boys back on our ship and not that tub" The pirates breath stuck of rum and had a good grip still on Clara's shoulder. His partner in crime was hanging back keeping those that might interfere back with just the threat of his sword.
Clara reached up and grabbed hold of his arm, jumped and threw her feet out in front of herself kicking the pirate in both knees knocking him down. She slipped her hand into one of the knuckle dusters and held the blade along his neck. "Listen nobody calls me small and nobody insults the ships that I have worked on"
It was then she felt another hand grab her shoulder and she was flung from off the first pirate and landed on the street. Rolling she sprang back up to her feet and pulled a throwing knife into her other hand. 'Always the same move they never just try and hit them, always throw' she thought. Reacting quickly Clara threw her knife and watched in hit the pirate standing square in the shoulder.
The commotion had now attracted the attention of the Captain of the passenger boat and he came running over with a couple of his men. They tackled both the pirates and knocked both of them out. Standing back up Clara just smiled at the men pulled the knife out of the pirates shoulder, kicked him in the ribs. Clara slipped her weapons back and gave the Captain a final salute and stalked off down towards the main dock where the pirates ship was. 'Maybe something interesting going on that will be fun to watch for a while.'
After waiting for a few minutes, Allen saw a man disembark from the ship. He was giving orders to the pirates on the docks, pointing to the warehouses along the waterfront. Allen took him to be second, maybe third in command. He was well dressed, had long blonde hair collected in a pony tail and a Rapier strapped to his hip. The man stepped off the gang plank and started walking to the southeast. Allen took this as his chance to make his move. He quickly hopped down in to an alleyway and waited for the man to walk by. He knew there were at least three other pirates there, but he could take them out before they became a problem. Allen changed back into a human, and without making a sound, he stepped out from the alley. Then, without any warning, a cannon ball came flying from town. Smashing into the ship, it totally blew Allen's cover as the man and his three subordinates turned around to see what had happened.
Damn, Allen thought to himself. He didn't know where that cannon ball had came from, but he was going to find whoever it was that shot it and let them have it.
After seeing Allen, the man with blond hair introduced himself. "Hello, I am Le-Nerveux Coupant. Second mate of the Death Stitch Pirates... and who might you be?"
"Well, seeing as you told me your name... you can call me Allen, and I'm here to exact some pay back for destroying my ship."
"Well, well. Aren't you the impulsive one. Don’t you know who we are?" Le-Nerveux said.
"As a matter of fact, I do", Allen said. "Just a sorry bunch of Pirates who can’t cut it in the Grand Line."
With a calm voice, Le-Nerveux replied. "My, my, such hateful words! You should watch your mouth. It could get you in trouble." He grabbed the hilt of his rapier.
"Oh, I’ll show you trouble…" Allen quickly changed into hybrid form and called out his move.
"Scavengers Hunt!" He seemed to vanish from sight, following which the three pirates that had been standing next to Le-Nerveux fell to the ground with huge slash marks across their backs. Allen then reappeared right were he had stood just seconds before.
"My, aren’t you the fast one", said Le-Nerveux. "But I'm quite fast myself." Without a word, he drew his rapier and stood ready to fight.
"I hope you don’t think that flimsy blade can hur…" Allen didn’t even get a chance to finish his sentence before Le-Nerveux had pierced his left shoulder, already being back at where he had been standing before.
Allen grabbed his shoulder. With a smile on his face, he said "Well, wasn’t that fast. I hope you don’t think you're going to get a second shot in."
Le-Nerveux smiled back and said “You didn't even see my strike, what’s to stop me from doing it a second time?"
Allen laughed out loud. "Oh, I may not have seen you coming, but I heard you before you got within striking distance." He looked at Le-Nerveux with a defiant gaze. "I let you hit me."
Le-Nerveux got a grin on his face. "Ha, you're a cocky thing, aren’t you? That's good... I was starting to think I wouldn’t have any fun!"

"Hmmm? Me? Well I was just returning what belonged to them but it looks like something got knocked loose when I fell out of the window," Ben said to the freak with the hair (Piroquet) before examing his arm, and once finding the offending loose bolt screwing it in.
"Now then, if you'll excuse me those guys owe me a fortune in refined Den Den Mushi mucus," He added passing the two people by and resuming his trip to the harbor when the ground he was walking on suddenly collapsed casting him down into the darkness of the sewers below.
"Welcome to my parlor said the spider to the fly, such a shame though, here I was so hoping for a young lady to come and keep me company like that one with the knife that was talking to the freak with the hairdo," Echoed a voice from the depths of the rather large sewer, adding a sigh at the end.
"Heh, I'd take a freak with a hairdo over someone in a sewer any day," Ben replied searching through is pockets and pulling out a vial of greenish liquid, "Essence of firefly, just add to any liquid and it will glow for over an hour,"
And so with that explanation he tipped the liquid into the sewage creating a puddle of slowly growing light, looking around he soon found the voices owner.
"Yesh, now I see why you stay in the sewer," Ben said shivering at the site of the half human-half spider monster hanging from the ceiling a little ways off. 'good thing this water only goes up to my ankles, this way I can still fight, though if my feet rust I'm gonna sue somebody,'
Well, that's new.
Carp vaguely recognized the man who called himself Piroquet. She was fairly certain he had been at the restaurant at least once or twice before.
"Well, I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather not go down there. Not in these clothes." Carp was resting the blunt end of the knife against her shoulder. Looking past the hole, more pirates seemed to be coming their way.
"I'm with you there. Looks like the party's gonna be up here anyway. Though I'd still rather have my spear..." Piroquet looked back towards the town to see if the kids were going to come back sometime soon. No sign of them.
"You seem to handle yourself quite well unarmed, though. Just what was that, anyway?"
"The zone, you mean? A family secret."
"Good enough for me. Seems like you'll have to demonstrate it again, though." They were partially surrounded by a baker's dozen of pirates, all with swords drawn. Carp pointed her knife towards the one closest to her. "This should only be slightly more inconvenient than those drunks I had to deal with the other week." Two of the pirates approached them. Carp dodged a sword slash, trying to cut the pirate's hand in return, but her attack was blocked as well. Piroquet managed to pin the other pirate to the ground, giving him a foot in the face. Noticing that Carp was struggling with her opponent, he was about to help her when two other pirates came towards him.
"Hn?" Blocking a furious stream of sword slashes, she glanced towards Piroquet. "What's wrong? You dispatched those others in no time!"
"You're too close... if you're in the zone, I'd hurt you too!"
"That it, huh... ducking to avoid another slash, she managed to give the pirate a nasty cut on his leg. As he fell over, two more approached her. "You said something about a spear?"
"Yeah... I asked some kids to get it from my apartment, but they haven't returned. It's not that far, so I have no idea where they've ran off to..." Conversing between blows, they were pressured back towards each other.
"Alright... guess I'll..." They were standing back to back, six pirates at close range, a few more a few steps away, even more approaching in the distance.
"Take my knife... I'll go look for them. Where's your apartment at?" She blocked a slash, following up with a well-timed kick to the crotch of the pirate immediately in front of her. Handing Piroquet her blade, she prepared to escape through the hole she just had created in their lines.
"Alright, thanks. Residential area, northeastern block, 5th avenue, house number nine..."
"Gotcha." Removing her apron, she tossed it in the face of the pirate that was coming at her, giving her the time she needed to escape the battle. Hearing the yell of "ZONE" behind her, she ran towards the address Piroquet had given her. She was keeping a lookout for any kids with spears, but didn't notice anything. Reaching the indicated house, she tried to open the door, finding it to be locked. She knocked, but got no reply.
"'s no use, missy. Everyone's already ran away." An old man was sitting next to the door, bottle in hand.
"Did you see any kids come here before? Taking a spear with them?"
"Yeh, that I did."
"Where'd they go? It's important!"
"I think... dat way." He made a motion with his hand in the direction she had come from. "Or was it dat way?" He pointed at a street next to it.
"I don't have time for this..." Going the other way, she heard more explosions. Then, amidst it all, she heard someone crying from within an alley. Running into it, she spotted some children curled up in a corner, beside them, something pole-shaped wrapped in fabric. "Hey, kids!"
Carp approached them, pointing at the package. "This Piroquet's spear?"
"Y... yes..." It was a scared voice that replied.
"He needs it! Weren't you supposed to bring it to him?"
As she came closer, she saw that two of them were bleeding, the wounds looking like they had come from flying debris after an explosion. Most likely a cannonball being in the wrong place at the wrong time. "Damnit." Grabbing the spear, she ripped off pieces of the fabric and applied it as makeshift bandage at the worst wounds. "That should take care of the bleeding, for now... get them to a doctor! I'll take care of this!" She picked up the spear again and set off at full speed towards the port.
Some of the streets were completely unpassable due to the damage from the cannons. Finding a fairly fast path back, she saw Piroquet noticeably having a hard time with the pirates, more of them approaching faster than he could defeat them.
"HEY, PERRY! CATCH!" As she tossed the spear towards him, he glanced backwards.
"Finally..." Throwing away the knife behind him, he caught his weapon and removed what was left of the fabric around it. Getting a smile on his face, he changed stance.
"Do your thing, now..." As Carp picked up her own blade, she saw a bunch of the pirates flying away from Piroquet.
"Dragon Partisan... ZONE!"
“Dragon Partisan! ZONE!” cried Piroquet, latching onto the spear. As soon as he had made contact, he began to spin the partisan, faster and faster, until the spear was a blur. “Zone style, Wings of the dragon!” yelled Piroquet, and the wind speed increased even further; a few of the lighter pirates were even knocked off their feet. And then, Perry did something he knew he probably shouldn’t have done; He began to spin as well. Now both Piroquet and the partisan were spinning, He unleashed his strongest attack. “Zone style! Fangs of the Dragon!” While still spinning, Piroquet launched himself at his opponents. Ricocheting from pirate to pirate in a spinning pinball attack of doom, Piroquet made sure they’d need to be patched up by their captain later.
Coming to a screeching halt with a pile of unconscious pirates all around him, Piroquet turned to Carp, who seemed to have taken care of business herself. Striding over, he gave her the thumbs up…and then turned a violent shade of green. “Haven’t…quite..m-mastered…that one y-yet…” Piroquet Stammered. He quickly turned away from Carp, and she put a hand on his shoulder and turned him around. “What are you talking about? Don’t tell me using your own ‘ultimate attack’ makes you-“ without much warning, Perry vomited all over her sandaled feet.”…sick.” Piroquet Muttered an apology before throwing up on her feet again. “Would you stop that? It’s disgusting. Especially since I have to go back into the restaurant at some point, and smelling like Pina colada puke won’t help me out any. Well? Are you going to be a gentleman and get me something for my feet?” Already feeling slightly better, he hefted a rainwater barrel over, and dumped the contents over Carp’s feet. Though still slightly green, Piroquet smiled, putting the partisan on his back. “I have to deal with their captain, it seems like the marines have gone belly up here. You go someplace safe, I’ll be fine.”
Carp shook her head. “I’m going with you. Who knows what trouble you might get into fighting the captain alone, and besides, I wouldn’t miss the free entertainment, plus, since I got your spear for you, I think it’d only be fair to donate, oh, half of the bounty to the restaurant. That’ll do nicely.” Piroquet was flabbergasted. “H-half the bounty? Isn’t that a bit extreme? How about I come eat at your restaurant and order something expensive with the bounty money? I mean, It’s not fair at all to go charging that much for an errand!” By this time, Carp was laughing. “What’s so funny? Do I have spinach in my teeth or something? Seriously, I need to know!” Sobering back up, Carp Pointed towards where Perry had come from. “Don’t you think we should be going now? I bet that pirate captain has already sacked half the town. Oh, and by the way, Perry. I was kidding.about that bounty business. Sheesh, you really need to loosen up.”
Halfway across town, in the Marine base, the marines were at attention, all sick with worry. Why hadn’t the alarms been sounded? Why hadn’t they been called into action? Then, their hope arrived; Marine captain William “Crimson Crush” Falstaff, their officer in charge. As he strode in, He was followed by…the prisoner, their highest security detail. He was a grand line pirate, and a marine deserted on top of that, said to have made it to the new world and lived to come back. Prisoner 6388 was all they ever called him, and he was kept in a tiny sea stone cell in the deepest subbasement. What was he doing out now of all times?
Falstaff spoke. “Men, effective now, you are removed of your duties… Permanently. The Prisoner 6388 Raised his hand, and from one end of town to another, screams could be heard from the marine base. After the deed was done, Falstaff Strode over to 6388 and shook his hand. “Glad to be back in action with you again, Sir, It’s been for too long since you left for the good life.” 6388 grinned craggily. “You know that it took 6 vice admirals to bring me down, Falstaff. You were there. So, why the act of good faith?” Falstaff grinned back. “Because, ex-Admiral, You were always the strongest. Now, let us leave this place, and conquer the seas!”
"Why you! I'll have you know I am the death stitch pirates most powerful secret weapon! My mere prescence strikes mortal terror in the hearts of even the most hardened of pir- Oh who am I kidding! I'm ugly, horribly horribly ugly, I curse that day I came upon the bug bug fruit model trapdoor spider! Oh woe is me," He exclaimed with all the emotion of a drama king, a river of tears running from his eyes.
"Uh, you do know you can switch between human and animal forms with fruits like that right?" Ben said raising an eyebrow at his opponents theatrics.
"You can?" He stupidly asked before trying to do so, you could practically see the smoke coming from his ears as he concentrated but in time his spider features disappeared and he became fully human, and strange enough a rather hansome human at that, unfourtunately as a human he could no longer stick to the ceiling, and short story shorter he made a big splash.
"OH THANK YOU MY NEW FRIEND!!" He shouted running up and bear hugging Ben, "Now I can leave this nasty life as a pirate behind and follow my dream! ACTING!!!! (or not)"
With an evil glint in his eye he turned back into his hybrid form and used his additonal legs to increase his grip on Ben while he reared back, fangs poised to strike his victims neck. . .
Felix walked slowly out onto the port...or what was the port. There was a brand new hole ripped out, a pile of blood and pirates, the stench of puke and Pina Colada, wrecked ships, and holes in the ground from the cannon balls. "Geez, I've never seen the port in worse shape." Said Felix rubbing his head, "I wonder where those other people ran off to, geez i just wanted to see if they were strong."
"Talking to yourself there?" Came an all too familiar voice. "Oh the great Felix, too late for the battle" Mocked the voice. "Oh jesu-" "I AM THE GREAT EDWARDO VOLLEYBACK! THE FIRS-", without hesitation Felix roundhouse kicked Edwardo in the face. "SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS"
Dumbfounded, Edwardo stood up dazed and replied, "How dare you even touch my face, with your filthy shoe." Felix glared and took out his scythe, which he forgot to clean and was still dripping with blood. "Oh I'll show you filthy!" Edwardo jumped back and landed with a perfect landing after a triple sow cow. "The great Edwardo Volleyback, if it wasn't for my, flowing gold hair, perfect chin, fluffy shirt, baby blue eyes, and of course my devil's fruit, I would never be able to lay a finger on you." Felix readied and replied, "You have a devil's fruit?"
With menacing laughter, Edwardo's legs grew in size, his ears started to move up until they were on top of his head and pointing, a tail sprouted and his mouth and nose jutted out so far Felix couldn't even tell the animal he had taken the hybrid form of. To Felix's amazement, his eyelashes grew 2 inches or so. "WHY THE HELL DID YOUR EYELASHES GROW!" yelled Felix. "Everyone knows kangaroos have long eyelashes." There was a profound silence. "Aren't you thinking of Camels?" replied Felix. "No...KANGAROO KICK!" Screamed Edwardo in surprise as he jumped forward for a flying kick. Completely unawares, Felix was sent flying back into the wall of a building.
He's gonna die soon.... fucking kangaroo...
Kuruwa had taken fire from the unknown sniper three times already since leaving the apartment building. Briefly taking refuge behind a large dumpster, he brought up a map of the city in his mind, and begin to formulate a plan of action.
let's see, the shot came from the northwest, that's a fairly small row of buildings, if I set up here and here, I can put on enough pressure to expose him...
Looking up, he sighed. It was risky, popping up in roughly the same place twice. But he'd chosen well the first time, the apartment building had a perfect view of the target area.
oh well, I'll only need a second.
Taking a deep breath, Kuruwa dashed out from behind the dumpster, a bullet screamed through the air and clipped off a piece of his shoes sole.
Dammit, he saw me
Scrambling up the apartment buildings rusty fire escape as fast as he could, he reached the top almost in a matter of seconds.
okay... let's do this...
Carefully pulling a small, half foot square piece of shiny metal out of his bag, he discreetly placed it on the edge of the building's roof, making sure not to take his fingers away from cover. After waiting a few seconds to make sure the enemy sniper hadn't seen his actions, Kuruwa eased his way down the fire escape with only minor difficulty.
Without bothering so much as to look around the corner, he raced across the street. At about half way he stopped dead in his tracks, letting a bullet cut through the air where he would've been had he kept going.
this guy's got good lead.
Imediantly resuming his former pace, he crossed the street and the one parallel to it from the west. Leaving two roads and one thin row of buildings between him and his "plate". He also knew the enemy sniper had to be in the middle row, just farther to the north. Taking the moment of peace he had while his opponent switched angles, Kuruwa clambered up to the nearest building's rooftop. Vaguely noticing that one of the civilians in the street was watching his antics just a little too closely.
Once Kuruwa got to the top, he boldly stood up and pulled out his "humming-bird" along with five cylindrical shaped objects.
okay, now to flush him out.
Loading one of the objects into his rifle, casually pointed it at on of the buildings across the street and fired. The object flew across in an easy arc across the street, and blew up spectacularly as the buildings brick wall lit up. Fire washed out across the building's surface, and all the windows instantly shattered from the shockwave, the boom echoed all across the urban canyon.
Smiling grimly, Kuruwa repeated this process four more times until most of the block was in flames.
If that didn't make him cover his head, I don't know what will.
He loaded a clip of normal sniper ammo into the "humming-bird" and settled down to wait . Looking through the scope, he aimed at the mirror like metal plate he'd set down earlier, using it to survey the area on the other side of the block, where his opponent was sure to take cover. After a moment he saw a hooded man holding a large rifle stumble out onto one hotel's balcony.
hmp, piece of cake.
"Why did you you do that?!"
Kuruwa quizicly glanced away from his scope to see where the voice was coming from.
"Why did you destroy those buildings?!"
A man dressed in traditional peasants clothes with a short katana tucked under his sash was standing on an adjacent rooftop, about six feet away. Kuruwa angerly stood up and drew his thigh length six-shooter.
"I'd like you to meet my friend, the Iron Persuader. Now if you don't mind I'm quite busy and..."
Kuruwa had barely blinked, he wasn't even sure what happened, But suddenly the stranger was right up against him, sword barely an inch away from Kuruwa's throat. and the persuader had been sliced cleanly in half.
"one more chance, why'd you do it."
Kuruwa smiled nervously and held his gun vertically by one finger as if to surrender.
"Oh oh, I was just fighting one of those dastardly pirates you know. Can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs they say, heh heh."
The stranger wasn't amused.
"If you killed people, you're no better then they are."
"well then, why don't you go over there and find out!
Clicking down on the trigger of his useless gun, Kuruwa latched onto the sword with the gun's hammer and yanked it away. Reaching behind his back he whipped out one of his two combat pistols. With his other arm he intended loop around his assailant's shoulder for an armlock, but it was surprisingly nowhere to be found. The stranger dropped on all fours and smashed a sweeping kick into Kuruwa's legs, knocking him to his knees. Gracefully jumping over to Kuruwa's other side. The stranger spun, grabbed Kuruwa by the neck with his left hand, and none too gently shoved him over the buildings edge out into space. Flying outward, Kuruwa saw two things about the stranger he hadn't noticed before. He had a long scar running up his left arm, and his dark brown hair had an odd, reddish tint to it.
Kuruwa balled himself up just before his impact with the building across the street. He smashed heavily through a third story window into an unoccupied hotel suite. Sending large shards of glass hurdling across the room. He hit the floor hard and tumbled several feet into a large chair, knocking it over. The breath knocked out of him, he nevertheless stumbled to his feet and attempted to start running again. In the process dropping a small pouch from his pocket that spilled out about 45 black balls the size of large ball bearings that rolled across the room. Still unbalanced, Kuruwa made his into the next room. He didn't look back, but he was sure he heard the sound of running footsteps behind him. suddenly, a shout came from the room behind him.
"DAS JINSHUKI! THE SLICING WIND!"
Kuruwa instinctively ducked, feeling a thin slice on his should, like a paper cut. The entire room seemed to jolt backwards. furniture toppling over and glass shattering. Kuruwa felt like he was suddenly shoved roughly to the ground. Sliding halfway out onto the rear fire escape, Kuruwa spun around on the floor to face his enemy. Clutching his shoulder, he slowly stood up , trying to regain his composer. In front of him stood the "stranger", sword drawn, in the other room.
"I wasn't looking to get involved with anything." the stranger said. "but you're almost asking for it, pulling stunts like that. I don't hate you, but don't think I'll regret killing you." As if to accentuate his chilling words, the whole town suddenly seemed to rise with unison screams. The loudest coming from the marine base on the south side.
Straightening his top hat, Kuruwa gave an easy smile.
"True, I'd expect nothing less. What coincidence to meet you here though."
Pulling a black Den Den Mushi out his pack, he dialed a number and looked up.
"however, your problem always was minding your surroundings, wasn't it?"
The strangers eyes widened as it suddenly dawned on him. Starting forward, All 45 of Kuruwa's mini-grenades simultainiously blew up. Engulfing the entire suite in flames and blasting out all remaining windows. Already standing on the balcony, Kuruwa was thrown outwards with tremendous force. Slamming into an Adjacent building, he fell down into a second story balcony.
After a moment he limped to his feet.
heh, I must look like a big bloody pulp by now. I'm gonna have to find a doctor to fix up all these gashes.
He then heard a first story door of the hotel he'd just come from slam open. Peaking over the railing, he was dismayed to find none other then the stranger himself. Looking fairly beat up himself, though certainly not as much as Kuruwa would've hoped.
how in the hell did he survive that?
The stranger looked up at him. But Kuruwa felt more at ease. Finally he had some leverage. Pulling his pistol, he pointed outwards.
"Listen hotshot, you can come up here and finish me, or go take him to the hospital."
Kuruwa fired a single round into an older pedestrian running past, collapsing him to the ground.
"Just remember, if he bleeds too much, they won't be able to stop him dying."
The stranger scowled.
"Don't think I'll let you get away with this. Or maybe I won't need too."
He started jogging off.
The thought never crossed my mind.
He turned around only to be met with one last surprise. The hooded sniper he'd been fighting earlier was standing right behind him, with a fairly large rifle at that.
"Well well, looks like you got into a little scrape along the way, not very good at staying concealed are you?"
Molten fury poured out of Kuruwa's eyes.
"At first hunting you seemed fun, but ah well. All good things must come to an ..."
Grabbing the hooded man's barrel with his right hand, Kuruwa shoved the rifle's stock back up into the man's face, cracking his skull into the brick wall behind him. The hooded man slumped over like puppet whose strings had been cut.
How'll I get out of here. Kuruwa thought.
The shipyards, I need to get a ship that'll take me out of here.
Kuruwa started limping as fast as he could in a northernly direction.

No one noticed when a little frog approached the huge ship still firing at the city.
No one noticed when that frog morphed into a salamander that started to climb up the wet wood.
No one noticed when the salamander reaching one of the gun ports , morphed into a rat and quickly run into the ship. The rat darted around, not at random but as if it was looking for something, still no one noticed.
I see ... They ship itself doesn't have many people guarding it. It may be easier then I though.
Suddenly a small army of frogs jumped from the pant legs of the tall black clothed man, and dived into the sea swimming in the direction of the huge ship.
Slowly walking trough the docks he liked the sense of chaos in the air. The screams, the metal tingling, the bombs bursting and ... the cocky voice of two guys fighting in an alley ????
What do we have here ... ?
There were two of them, a guy with fur and a blond one. He disliked the both of then but was impressed with their speed. The blond one moved faster than the eye could see and furry one was also to fast.
By the clothing the blond one is one of the attacking pirates .... Gotta hate those guys ... He stood there watching the fight with one of his hands raised in a "speak to the hand" way.
Thats interesting ... fast rapier technic ... Hyena or Wild Dog DF ... living and learning. The though coldly.
The fight was pretty equal but he noticed how the Hyena guy passed most of the time dodging the blond guy attacks.
... Since I'm here ...
He put his hand on the wall and something similar to liquid stated moving through it in the direction of the fight.
To his surprise (and annoyance) the "fur guy" noticed this.
Allen thought to him self, “I may not know what it is but lets see if it gives me the opening I need”
He continue the fighting taking hits in order to positioned himself and put Nerveux’s back to the almost invisible mass.
He's not stupid, I'll give him that. Pulver though to himself
"Where is your super hearing now, furry boy? Even if you can hear me sometimes you'll never be able to hit me OR dodge all the attacks. You're as good as dead!" mocked the blond pirate. "I'll finish you with my fasted technique: piercing decapitation".
As he stood there Pulver smiled as the watery mass turned into a swarm of bees that started to harass Nerveux like only a million small things you cannot catch can.
"What the --" he screamed. Swatting and slashing at the air. While doing this, for a split second he forgot about Allen. And that’s all it took.
"Nice, Just what I was hoping for” Allen said with a grin “Scavengers slam!"
At the same time, nobody noticed the large amount of rats entering in the ship’s gun ports and spreading across the ship.

"Scavengers Slam!" ,Allen roars. He grabs La-Nerveux by his sword arm and starts slamming him into walls, boxes, and anything in his way.
La-Nerveux starts pleading for Allen to stop. But he's cries fell on def eras.
"I don't even want your bounty any more!" ,Allen growled.
La-Nerveux cried out, “PLEASE STOP I’LL GO BACK TO MY SHIP….”
Cackling like a mad man Allen said, "KA HA KA HA, oh I’ll send you back to your ship!"
Allen leaped out of the ally with La-Nerveux. "Say hello to your captain for me!" Allen said with a twisted smile.
Allen flings Nerveux toward his ship... and misses. La-Nerveux was sent flying down the docks skipping across the ground until he hit a stack of planks and was buried under it.
Allen felt much batter, but at the same time he couldn’t believe he lost control so easily.
He forced him self to calm down as he turned to face tall frail looking man in black.
"Hey you, What's the big Idea!" Allen barked.
The man spoke not a word, he didn't ever look up.
"Hey I'm talking to you..." at this point Allen returned to human form.
"hello...? hey you still alive?" Allen said with puzzled look on his face.
"I am Varandra Pulver" the man said " and there's no need to thank me if your back had happened to be facing the swarm It would have just as easily been you who they attacked. However I am shocked that you noticed my little swarm at all. Tell me how did you know I would attack?"
"I saw you standing at the end of the ally so I assumed you were up to something. I thought it best to not keep you at my back." Allen said
"I see", said Pulver "your devil fruit it's a hyena or some kind of wild dog is it not? I only ask seeing as the only man I have ever heard of to use such a devil fruit is presumed dead...You wouldn't happen to be that man would you?"
"I don't know who you think I am but I'm just a pirate looking for a crew. Now if you don't mind I've got some things I need to get. So I'll just be on my way now" And with that Allen turned and walked away.
"Very well" said Pulver " I was board with this conversation" as he continued toward the pirates' ship
walking back to get his things Allen thought to himself. That man didn't look like a world government agent or a marine. Grr I let my anger get the better of me I was far too reckless… I could have blown my cover… or even totally lost it….
The next thing Allen knows he's being yelled at by this young girl. " HEY! Look were your going" she yelled as she rubbed the back of her head. Allen helped her to her feet "Sorry, wasn't looking were I was going",said Allen, "Aren't you a little young to be running around by your self. You should run back to your home were it's safe"
"Sorry, sorry is all you can say for running into someone! You should be watching where you are going and not running into 'young girls'. People might think you were one of the pirates and trying to make off with some 'prize' and attack you, if I didn't first.""
"hold on kid I'm not one of them"
She slaps Allen "Go throw yourself in the harbor or something, just get out of my way" she turned and headed inland.
Rubbing his face I was asking for that one,Allen thought to him self. but I can't just let her run off on her own, she could get kidnapped by the remaining pirates, then I would have to go save her. She should be fine for a bit I'll get my stuff and follow her to make sure she gets home safe
As he looked around he saw the dock worker hiding next to one of the building that was still standing. He ran over and grabbed his things.
"Thanks for holding on to my stuff for me, my ships all yours now" he said with a smile and wave.
As he ran off to catch up with the girl he had just run into.

Down at the shoreline some hundred feet away from the noise and fire and general chaos of the harbor was a peaceful little beach, a stream of water flowed between a metal grating down to the sea, little sea birds hopped back and forth pecking at tiny little fishies in the water, a sudden thunk at the grating grabbed the birds attention, then with a loud crash the birds scattered as the gratting broke and a figure was thrown through it.
"Hmph, if this is the death stiches' "secret weapon" then I'd hate to see how weak the rest of your crew is," Ben smirk emerging from the hole in the grating, loosely holding a dagger sized fang in his left hand.
"Why you, grrrr. . . if I loose here she'll nev-" The spider guy exclaimed angrily back in human form, his newly missing tooth as blaring obvious on his otherwisely perfect teeth as a single dot of paint on a blank canvas, he was cut off in midsentence by a light cough.
Looking over at the cough's owner Ben saw a girl in her lower twenties as beautiful as spider guy was handsome in his human form, she was sunbathing a little ways up the beach in a black bikini with a spiderweb design with a crimson hourglass tattoo on her stomach mirroring her hourglass figure.
"That's enough brother," She said standing up and covering herself up with a crimson kimono cut open along her stomach to reveal her hourglass tatoo, from where he was Ben could easily see that the towel she was previously sunbathing on was in the same style as the death stich pirates flag, confirming her as an enemy, "Normally I wouldn't hesitate to punish you for loosing to such an. . . ugly, opponent, however I'll let it slide today because of the fact he so blantly insulted the world famous spiderweb trio and by extension this Supaidako,"
"Trio eh? So where's bug number three?" Ben asked nonchalantly, as it was he's been called ugly so many times at this point that he didn't even notice it.
"Hmmm? Little Bobby? This Supaidako sent him to pick up some neccesary clothing for Supaidako, alas it is so tough to find clothes as beautiful as Supaidako when you live with nasty unwashed pirates. One tiny tear and the whole outfit is ruined, for so called death stich pirates no one is beautiful enough to maintain this Supaidako's clothes. Anyways don't worry, Bobby will be here in time to see your lifeblood beautifully mixed with the flowing tide by this Supaidako," She replied rather smuggly, "Anyways dear little brother, shall we start this preformance?"
"Yes of course Sister!" Spider Guy, or Brother as "this Supaidako" refered to him, chuckled returning to his hybrid form and quickly burrowing into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust that blocked him from Ben's sight, by time it cleared brother was nowhere to be seen and there was no trace that he had even dug where he did, all that was left of him was his chuckling echoing through the ground.
"Act 1: The beutiful silk hime Supaidako encounters a monsterous armored Oni," She announced striking a pose, suddenly her skin turned obsidian black, her eyes turned pure ruby red and three more pairs appeared on her head, two above her origanal eyes and one below, her nails grew into claws and finally the most dramatic change was her legs where replaced with a spider's body a crimson hourglass mark on it's back, more or less she became a centaur only with a spider instead of a horse, where Brother's hybrid form made him incredibly ugly her's made her more beautiful, though in a strange otherworldly way, "Ah, witness the grace and majesty of the bug bug fruit, model Black Widow,"
"Geesh Lady, don't you ever shut up?" Ben growled charging foreward ready to give her a lump for each time she called herself "this Supaidako" with good ol' righty, however before he even got close a sticky net of white webbing grabbed him from behind and stopping him in his tracks.
"Ah, the gallant guard comes to the silk hime's defense," Supaidako announced gesturing behind Ben, looking out the corner of his eye he saw Brother's trapdoor open just enough to show his head, from which the sticky webs emerged.
"Why you stinkin' coward! Come out an fight!"Ben roared pulling at the strands when he noticed something. . . odd about the web, 'Sake?'
"Spiderweb trio special attack! Spider Fire," Brother chuckled as the alcohol on the webbing ignited capturing Ben in a roaring inferno. . .
Clara was shocked at herself just as much as she was at him. She never usually struck out at people but he had deserved it. Composing herself, she starting thinking if she was a bit too harsh with him and maybe not threatened him. For all she knew he may have been someone trying to get away. Felling a little sorry Clara turned around to see if he had jumped in the harbour when he came running up behind her again. She turned to face him and stood ready to throw him over herself if he didn’t stop.
“This time you can stop right there.” Clara tried to sound commanding but her voice cracked. Almost giving up she just stood there. “Go around at least this time.”
The man just stopped in front of her. “Look I’m sorry about that, I wasn’t completely myself. Can I offer you an escort into town Miss…?”
The person standing in front of her now had a whole different composure about him; he was more relaxed and seemed more human. “Clara, and I suppose it may be a good idea Mr…?”
Smiling he replied “Allen, and don’t call me mister it makes me feel old.”
“Now you know how I felt earlier when you ran into me.” Looking over him again and putting a name to a face Clara noticed the blood dripping from his hand onto the road. “Before we do anything though you need to see someone about that arm. Loosing that much blood is not healthy and should be looked at.”
“Ahh that’s nothing to worry about.” Allen had a quick rummage around in his bag and pulled out a bandage and wrapped it around his arm. “Now shall we have a look around Miss Clara?”

"What is the problem Reaper!?" Screamed Edwardo as he brutishly kicked Felix through walls. "Eheheheh! At this rate, we'll be at the center of the town in no time!" he continued to cackle. "I..have....oof" Stuttered Felix, "had... enou- Oof....of this..." "oh!? What makes you think you can stop me!?" Laughed Edwardo as he stopped kicking Felix. "That" "eh!?"
"DEATH REAPER!!" Felix lunged with his Scythe, which he still had surprisingly the whole time. Edwardo gasped, "How DARE you ruin my shirt!" "Your shirt should be the least of your worri-"
"KANGAROO STOMPER!" Edwardo jumped into the air and stomped onto Felix, so quickly, it was as if he vanished. As Edwardo jumped off he laughed, "You aren't that great, Mister 30 Billion ahaha"
As Edwardo let his guard down, Felix rose. He was very pissed. "Oh.... still alive are we?" chuckled Edwardo, "Please Die!' He lunged and delivered a whole hearted kangaroo style flying kick. Sending Felix flying back towards a wall, he made a new move up right on the spot. "Death's Scythe Style, Flying Death Wish! FINISHER!" Felix flipped in mid air, and used his legs and scythe to kick off the wall with rebounded speed, it was over so quickly, Edwardo was dead before he was on the ground, and not a single drop of blood was on the scythe. Wincing from the pain of the kangaroo kicks, he tied his scythe up, and slung it over his back, and stumbled over towards the dock. "Damn... I wonder if I can still beat the shit out of the other pirates" Felix laughed to himself. At that moment, he realized something, "Where the hell are the marines?"
