Bakuman a new series from the guys who did Death Note
You can read it here even though only 1 chapter is out.

Basically its about this guy and this other guy who want to become Mangaka. So far it's alright. They reference Death Note, Dragonball and One Piece which is pretty cool but other than that I'm still on the fence about this one. Eh anyways, discuss this now.

Ha, that was oddly familiar of someone we know. 
But it's nice to see that he's using his own life of a mangaka to play this plot out.

this is definitely a manga i would keep up with. It takes a lot to make me laugh, and this manga definitely had me lol'ing every half a page or so. Even with the simple jokes, it was great. I particularly enjoyed the slapsticky parts. But my favorite part was the awkward silence after the mom was like "the one with the good grades?". Thanks for the post mafoofoo.
edit: On a different note, the main character makes me think of Ral from blue dragon Ral Grado, looks-wise.

Well, not sure if you already knew, but I'm pretty sure this guy, or atleast the artist from Death Note did the artwork for Blue Dragon.. I'm positive unless my memory is blanking out on me, and I'm think there was a thread for Blue Dragon somewhere hidden that said it was from the same artist.

I love the drawing style. I mean, only reason I even noticed death note was because I had read Hikaru no Go, and I saw this death note ad on 4chan (don't ask me why), I thought it looked like hng so I started to read...who thought that I would find such a masterpiece through 4chan??? so I have high expectations for this manga, guess I'll wait till there's a couple more chapters b4 reading..
