I would like to see in the future like wallpaper verison of the manga volume covers. Like a merge wallpaper verison of the Volume 21 and 22 cover with Barqoue works Vs. Straw Hats, etc. Since I think the manga volume covers are some of the most awesome artwork I ever seen.
I would like to see more of the Color Walk books, and as well the profile books down the line. But what I really want to see release in the U.S. is the One Piece Log books, which each Log focus on certian story arc of the series.

I'd also like to see those One Piece books released in English. There are a lot of fun stuff there which I know a lot of fans would love to see
Also, it'd be great to have more downloadable content from the Viz site. Some official wallpapers, icons, and stuff would be great for the site.

What other exclusive info you would like us to feature on onepiece.viz.com?
-I'm shooting for an manga previews of every volume, but do you guys even care?
-Maybe an "Ask Oda sensei" section?
Manga previews would be great for those who still haven't read the new volumes but as for me, I don't really care since I'm up to date with the series. I think the "Ask Oda-sensei" section is a great idea though. It'd be easier to just ask him a question through that section than waiting for him to reply to your letter in the SBS. You just have to make sure that you get his cooperation in that project ![]()

Or my ultimate dream of bringing Oda and his cute wife and daugther over here for a con. XD In which case he will probably visit the office and I will just die!!!
Oh please, let that happen! And take pictures since you don't even have a picture of Oda on the site ![]()
Anyway, I think Viz is doing a great job with the scheduled speed up of the manga. I've been collecting Viz's release of the manga and I'm definitely looking forward to the new volumes coming out next year ![]()

Well I decided that I'll go for the Viz releases from the point that te crew reaches the Grand Line (volume 12 and on right?) since the Dutch releases keep getting delayed without any comment from the company. I just hope Viz doesnt edit/censor/screw up much and delivers good work even if they speed it up this fast. How does Viz handle the Nami-swan Robin-chwan of Sanji by the way?

Is Viz still incorrectly romanizing Zoro's name as "Zolo"? Because that's a deal breaker for me.

Having several translation notes at the end of each volume would be nice and perhaps some liberal usage of asterisks as opposed to just translating and converting everything. It certainly isn't a deal-breaker otherwise though. If you are new to the series and don't know of the original then I doubt you'd notice or care. If you already know what is changed then why does it matter? You are familiar enough with it to know what it's supposed to be. Use your imagination. Granted it would definitely be better unaltered. Zolo to Zoro is such a small thing that surely it could be easily changed to the original.

Thanks for your feedback everyone! And sorry for my PM box being full, I've emptied it out so you don't have to go through the trouble of emailing me.
Keep any gripes you have coming! It gives me more and more reason to go visit the other departments and wreak havoc on their schedules. ![]()

Yeah but when you get a CND letter from the people who own to copyright to "ZoRo" its kinda hard to ignore them. Though there are rogue first printings of the US One Piece that still have the "ZORO" spelling. Yeah its kinda poopy for me to read through it too... so I just write in the R sometimes XD

If Viz were to ever release the Guidebooks, it would be an automatic pre-order from me. It'd be a hell of a lot simpler than learning to read Japanese and going through MQ .jpeg page scans.
That instant pre-order goes for the Color Walks too.

So how does this huge release work out? Do you guys plan on being up-to-date with the releases in the near future, volume-wise and week-to-week-wise (not sure if the shonen jump here is as diligent as the one in Japan)? Of course, when I say near future, I mean do you guys ever plan on reaching that stage (regardless of years) or you have no hopes of it at all.

I thought they stopped changing Zoro into Zolo somwhere along the way, but I was wrong I guess

True, but Funimation seems to be doing fine with it. It's just a name.

Not to mention the fact that the literary character is "ZoRRo" with two R's.
Offline
Maybe they could just use three R's. Nobody has copyrighted that yet right?

Offline
well I hope I can ignore the fact that it's Zolo instead of Zoro, because I just sold my 8 One Piece volume in Dutch, and ordered every Viz released manga up until now. Let's hope it good enough to enjoy.
Offline
in waterstones they've got a section almost a whole shelf with a sign saying reserved for One Piece and has the logo, also got some of the older volumes out as well
bit early for it but good to see it

does anyone know what's gonna happen when Viz released the 53rd volume? Will the release schedule be brought back to one every three months? two months? monthly?
Offline
Rightstuf has 22-48 available for pre-order and there is a 33% off Viz coupon right now until the 12th. Ohhhhhhhh I think I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna pre-order 27 volumes in one order and save 33%!!!! that's like *calculates* $70 of savings!!!!!!!!!

Offline
that's a GREAT deal! I'm gonna do it, I just hope I won't have to pay much import-tax when I order this from the States (to Holland)
Offline
Just placed two orders......that's a whole lot of money I just spend
Order #1 which will be sent in December is $141.62, and order #2 is $224.50 which will be send after the may releases. I think I've supported One Piece enough for the coming months ![]()

Fortunately charges only occur as items are shipped. It'll be a slowww money burn XD

Offline
it's still a lot of money though
but I've waited so long to buy One Piece in mangaform. At first the US editions were released to slow, then the Dutch versions came out which are supposed to come out once every two months but nothing has been released since juli '09 without any words from the company. So this was really getting on my nerves so I decided to get over the Zolo-fact and the fact that the SFX are translated, and just enjoy the story and rest of the art.
And then you realise.....it's a lot of volumes to buy at once ![]()

Good lord, I'm sooo excited for this. THIS is the reason that I've been saving a friiickload of money lately, and why I haven't bought many games in the past few months.

Currently there are a bunch of things that have already been decided, but its nice to hear what other One Piece books you would like offered here in the states.
- Colorwalk 2? Profile Books Red, Blue and Yellow?
I'd like to see a re-release of Colorwalk 1 as well, since it seems that I can't find it anywhere... plus Colorwalks 2 and 3, and the different guidebooks as well.
I'd also like to know if the covers will stay the same. Dunno if I'm the only one that gets annoyed by the crappy editing on the english covers. The volume-specific text always looks like it was done in the cheap Paint program. And must the logo ALWAYS be golden? ._. I like the different variety of colors on the japanese volumes. >_>
And you mentioned that a bunch of things have already been decided. Would that be anything specific that we haven't already mentioned, Tashigi?

just a tip for y'all:
i got this site from a friend: http://www.bookdepository.com/ and if you pre-order long before volumes come out, you got one hell of a discount. I just ordered the volume 24-48 with a 54% off (and free shipping). just so you know ![]()

o.O ...wow. You guys remember I was complaining about the horrible volume covers, right? Weeell, apparently on the Viz One Piece site, they've got previews of the first bunch of new ones. I'm actually kind of impressed.
http://onepiece.viz.com/volumes/
Looks like they're going to be changing the logo to make it different for every arc. Like for Skypiea, it's an aqua-ish green color and says "Skypiea" above it instead of "One Piece" in different text. (which I saw absolutely no point for in the first place...) And they also lost the disgustingly bad-looking volume "names" that they've had since the beginning. I really like the whole idea, personally. :3
EDIT- Apparently theyve also released some images of the Water Seven covers too. The logo is blue and light-blue themed.

That's a pretty good idea, but I still think they should have kept the original logo. Oh well, these will add some variety to the manga.

I don't say this very often but: good job viz! looks way better then that goldish color they used to put on the covers. I actually start to get the feeling they finally noticed the potential of One Piece ![]()
