Well first you roll the programs up, then you shove it up where the sun don't shine.

That maybe a little bit more painful than reading the first page but reading that long post will cause pain in a totally different area of your body.

OK. Iam getting a very strong and disturbing stalker vibe from you, so Iam going to leave a "in the event of my death you should go look for XXXX" letter with my lawyer.

Also if you don't have a question about the video file don't use the thread otherwise old Dythim here will suck out your will to live. I kid you NOT!

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

hey i have a question. I'm on episode 260 and i use VLC and it was working fine until around the 7 minute mark and then it just stopped playing. how do i fix it? and i tried that ffdshow thing but when i downloaded, it didn't give me these options: Uncheck VFW interface on the first screen of options. Uncheck EVERYTHING except for the [ ] H.264, X264 choice on the second screen of options. Uncheck everything on the third screen of options except [ ] AAC. Uncheck everything on the fourth screen of options. Uncheck everything on the fifth screen of options. so now i don't know where i go to do that.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

VLC v0.8.6e with [K-F]_One_Piece_260_[FD5F3FF3].mp4, tested from 6:02 to 8:40 minutes, plays fine.

Your file is possibly broken, download the torrent and use it to recheck the file.

Use these links and follow the instructions on the 1st page but with this setting:

Untick everything (VFW interface, AviSynth scripts serving application plugins)

Untick "decode the following video formats with ffdshow" and "decode the following audio formats with ffdshow". Tick H.264 / AVC and use "libavcodec" Install.

Once you've installed all the codecs you should be able to play most stuff with WMP, media player classic, BSplayer. Basically any direct show player

Lame MP3 Codec
Haali Media Splitter / Haali MatroskaSplitter
The CoreAAC Directshow Filter
CCCP
Latest FFDShow
Koepi's XviD
madFlac

Older dual audio/softsub stuff
Ogg DirectShow Filters
Vorbis Ogg ACM Codec
Vobsub
QuickTime Alternative
Real Alternative

Uninstall all codecs(packs) and restart the computer before you begin.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

hey thanks for the info. it seems that i have successfully downloaded the player itself, but now i have major lag problems. both VLC and this Zplayer have the lag. actually zplayer is worse cuz the computer practically freezes on me. so... how do i fix that? is there some way to upgrade? btw, my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 so it's really old.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

Well at least you have the smarts to post your make and model #. I detest questions which implys everyone knows what hardware you're using.

Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 uses Intel® Celeron® Processor (I suggest you take a dump on the laptop and send it along with a ton of bricks back to intel on collect post, the Heavier the better!) back on topic, celeron will have to be around the 2.6Ghz mark to play the videos without lag. I am guessing you did not clean the crapware that all laptop makers install by default and have MSN and whatever the hell else running at start up? Quitting unnecessary programs will free up resources and will help with the lag problem, alternatively you could install CoreAVC (which is more efficient than ffdshow) to decode the video file with.

Unfortunately I can't give you links to CoreAVC but you can try punching this into google "CoreAVC Professional Edition v2.0.0.0 Incl"

Also there's a thread One Piece KF Avi Releases v2 where people recode the file to the old XviD codec. I don't keep tabs on it but new releases should be there within a few hours of official releases. You can download that release for ease of play.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

Hi! I hope someone can help me.  I am a newbie to Anime - OnePiece is only my 2nd anime and I'm absolutely in love with it.  The story is wonderful and I can't say enough how much I appreciate KF for the great video quality and subbing.  I was able to thoroughly enjoy the quality of every episode that KF had posted without any problem.  However, on episode 261 I started experiencing major lagging problems (this happens for 261 through 270).  I then read all the instructions on X264 codec, done all the codec/splitter installation accordingly from the posted setting instructions, and I also have the latest version of VLC 1.0.5 and still experience the same issue - extreme lagging in either audio or video at certain segments and also experience pixelation sporadically.

Prior to all the installations from the X264 post in this forum, I had CCCP 2009 version installed and eps 1-260 played fine on VLC and Win Media Player.  I also dont have anything else opened that could drain memory other than VLC or WMP when I'm watching the show.  I have a Pentium 4 with 1.80GHz, which I think should be good enough (is it?)

Does anyone have any idea and what I can do to fix the issue so I can continue on watching the show?  Hopefully it wont involve getting a better computer :-(  Thank you!!!

261 is the first HDTV episode, and those take a lot more resources to decode smoothly. Your Pentium 4 is ancient and just can't handle it.

I play 261 just fine with my pentium m 2ghz processor and 2GB of ram so you shouldn't be having problems cause my processor is a tad bit weaker than yours.

One question: did you uninstall CCCP before you install ffdshow + Haali Media Splitter ?

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

Hi all, I hope you can help me with my issue.

I'm on a brand new machine, Dell Inspiron Zino HD running Win7. I also installed K-Lite Codec Pack Standard 5.9.0, no tweaks, all standard default settings.

When I playback [K-F]_One_Piece_268-269_[C5A82209] on Windows Media Player, it gives me crazy artifect effects like this (see pic attached)
http://i42.tinypic.com/2ms39cp.jpg

However, when I use Windows Media Player Classic that comes bundled with K-Lite Codec Pack, it plays back fine with no problem.

So, i guess the video is not the problem. Problem is the WMP from Win7... any idea is there anything to tweak? ffdshow? xvid? all my settings are default when installing the Klite, as mentioned.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

Why would you wanna use WMP anyway tongue

I'd say it's not using K-Lite's codecs, and that if you wanna use WMP you should install other codecs. Not sure though.

What you have there is codec conflict, WMP is dumb and can't tell which codec it should be using to decode the video with so it's using all supported codecs thats installed with K-lite. That player that was installed by K-lite is Media Player Classic not "Windows Media Player Classic" it's inspired by Windows Media Player Classic. Media Player Classic has internal filters which is why it plays the video just fine.

I don't know why you are using this codec pack, I mean it's so last decade, do anyone still use kazaa for files?

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

Scroll up a bit, there's links to the codecs. Don't install CCCP if you're going to install the codecs individually other wise you'll end up in the same position with K-lite.

Re: X264/MP4 Frequently Asked Questions

My issue with the latest releases is no big deal, just confuses me.

I use K-Lite Mega on 64bit version of Windows 7. The episodes show in Explorer fine till 257.

From 258 till 269 (I don't have the latest episodes yet) there is no thumbnail picture and when selected it doesn't show info like length or frame size.

Is it my computer? or perhaps something wrong with the downloaded files?

They play fine, but I feel that somethting isn't right.

Can you help me understand?
