You can learn to become a shinigami, thats why there is a shinigami academy in Soul Society where regular souls from the rukongai or where ever go to become one. See Rukia, Renji, Gin etc.

What is it with Kubo and long hair? If this guy is the new bad guy, then every non-hollow main-antagonist has had similiar haircuts...

The story is specifically progressing to him getting his shinigami powers back, not just 'any' powers back.

Good point, but I'm wondering if it's true. It seems kinda BS, but I got the feeling that the one with the sword wasn't being completely straight from the beginning. I had the feeling he was a bad guy the first time I saw him, dunno why though.
Offline
of course. He totally looks it... but remember what aizen looked like when we first saw him. Gin was the one who looked like the dick....... and then he was!.... and then later... he was a hero.

Yeah, that's one major redeeming feature of Bleach. Not all the enemy characters are necessarily "bad guys". I liked most of the Espada, and of course before that the captain characters. It's a shame that most the espada are dead(?). Specially number 1, 3, and 5 for me, I wanted a rematch between Nnoitra and Zaraki.

So they made Oda censor Whitebeard's Flag that contained the Swastika and now Ichigo is using that same symbol since he obtained bankai, and now his Fullbring. Well thats Bs.

It's a Manji when it's a normal box shape, a swastika when it's tilted into a diamond shape. Or some crap like that. If it wasn't such a touchy subject more people would know the difference and the eeeevillllllll version of the character would lose some of its power. Wishful thinking I guess.
yeah what he said...
Also what's up with the tease, this pacing killing me... AGAIN. Is he gonna keep recycling the same stuff as well, I half expected Orihime to get kidnapped again.

Loved this chapter. Kinda mysterious, but it sets up a nice play for a story. Also, it says next chapter ichigo's fullbring will transform again? I'm interested.
The pacing is fine, something decent happens every chapter. It's not fast pacing, it's just regular.

If that happens, she is gonna be like Bleach version of the princess from Mario games. Except this one has bigger boobs and is useful. And she ain't annoying like Sakura from Naruto.
I already forgot that "eel lady". Nice to see her again.

So are we going to place bets on the fulbring powers having or not having another ... erm, lets call it a "release" like zanpaktos and hollows ?
Offline
I didn't think these things 'released'... you develop it... it gets better... and you level up in it, but you don't scale on releases. Chad doesn't go between one arm and two, for example.

Hey, what a surprise, Kubo promised a new Fullbring form for Ichigo in this chapter and he didn't deliver. At least we got to see that Jackie chick make one attack that revealed nothing about her Fullbring's ability. And we got to hear Chad and Orihime have a conversation that revealed no new information. Oh, and the big cliffhanger is that Tsukishima may target Chad or Ichigo next...you mean the villain who's been targeting humans with special powers might target one of the two remaining main characters with special powers he hasn't already targeted?! What a twist!

yeah, we waited for *that*. oh well. moving forward.

I've totally lost respect for Tite Kubo, i'ed love to know its rankings now I wouldn't be shocked at all if it wasn't in the top 5, hell it wouldn't shock me to find out that it was 10th

Bahaha, I was thinking that. Bleach wastes chapters with giant facial expressions and no development whatsoever, reminds of when Naruto met sasuke after three years. As much as I'm sure he was trying to relay their reaction to one another all I could think was "y'know if he didn't use three pages just showing people's reaction to one another they could get this arc over with". Bleach is kinda like that... all the time...
Offline
What. I don't even...
What happened?

Did...Ichigo just use Sasuke's Shadow Shuriken move that he did in the Zabuza arc.....? I mean seriously I dont get what exactly happened in that page.
Also Steve, I agree with you 110% lol

I think...he intentionally exaggerated the opening his attack left to catch her off guard? And apparently she was so off guard he could appear behind her? All that seems unnecessary if he has such a speed advantage.
Offline
i dont think it's that he had a speed advantage, she just wasn't expecting him to be able to use the fullbring version of flash step already. but yea, other than that i agree with rhekarid

Damn now Bleach really bores me... the new characters are like meh--- not worth the while, they'd all die in soul society or hueco mundo in a blink. I feel like when your Pokemon Game is deleted... u have to start all over again with your Charmander lvl 3, not exciting at all. Shame on you Kubo you destroyed your own manga -.-

Can't wait for the next serialization meeting... oh, wait this ain't bakuman, my bad.
Maybe if Niizuma becomes number one he'll cancel Bleach.
Actually I just realized I had loads of problems with this chapter. Was there mud there the whole time? WHY did she have to slowly raise her power so he wouldn't notice? There really didn't seem to be a real reason. gd1k4joih (that was me banging my keyboard in frustration). Ya know what, let's just forget this chapter ever happened.

That seems right. I think it was vague on purpose and will be explain right at the start of the next chapter, or next time they revisit the training in case the next chapter starts somewhere else and goes back to ichigo after.

Because she wasn't trying to kill him, she was training him. No need to go all out unless he was learning from it.

My only problem with it being training is that in the chapter before she specifically tells HIM to think of it as a real battle. If you could go all out in a real battle would you slowly raise your power so your opponent wouldn't notice or hit em with everything you got from the beginning? I guess it's just a matter of preference and the desired effect came through as he learned to move faster, but it just seems a runabout way of doing things to me. Just my opinion though.
