I knew these were very similar. Still, I didn't see this coming.

For a crossover, it wasn't bad. It somewhat had more substance than your typical crossover (such as the DB x OP crossover) and was an entertaining read.

Not much of a surprise actually. In addition to the manga chapter, there's the 3D movie double feature that's coming out this spring, the next One Piece anime episode is a special Toriko crossover, and of course the new Toriko TV series is taking over Dragonball Kai's timeslot as part of the Dream 9 block Sunday mornings with One Piece.

Just confirmed (from Wikipedia) that Toriko's author, Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, is indeed public friends with Eiichiro Oda, so maybe the similarities aren't so far fetched.

I agree.
As much as I looooove Cross Epoch since I'm a huge Dragon ball fan, the way that this crossover added the other characters as a cameo at the end allowed for a more developed and sensible plot of sorts.
Made me hungry, too.

Was the crossover counted as a One Piece episode or was it a TV special. Some sites are saying it is episode 492 and some say it's a special so I'm confused as to what it counts as.
