I seriously almost died with laughter reading this weeks bleach.
Really is a bad time to release something so poor when naruto was pretty epic this week and one piece just redefined the words uber and epic with the best chapter EVER!
Will be interested to see next weeks readers figures.....
Oh and now kubo's obviously pissed of uneasySpider who's left to defend this manga?
I'd do it for shitz and gigglez but I have no experience in fictional writing ; p

idk. I'm a fan of DBZ and bleach feels like the current DBZ, so I read it. Frankly; DBZ wasn't that great, but it was enjoyable.

Oh this means war!
When I'm sober and its a reasonable hour were I am I'll right a coherent post of my anguish with that comment!
...now doubting uneasySpider was ever in bed with kubo, but probably a ninja troll...stealth trolling me to my ignorance ; p

I don't see how anyone can make comparisons between dbz and bleach, I mean you can make comparisons between dbz and nearly all jump series but bleach is just a string of nonsensical deus ex machinma that try to copy that shonen formula of power up defeat enemy..power up ,defeat enemy rinse and repeat but somehow without ever giving the readers even the slightest buildup (training arcs and the like) and having the same threats (ot/ some girl in trouble) defeated in the same manner.
I will admit that it may slightly resemble the shite post frieza dbz story though....coz we all know dbz shoulda stopped there.

Dude... try to enjoy the manga??? Or maybe you're just too old to read manga and not judge every single detail??

Bleach is Dragon Ball Z with swords, with pseudo-angels in place of aliens. Same formula, same archetypes, same absurd power-level creep. I'll say that Bleach uses its characters better, but neither has the weight of One Piece.

....still not getting this dbz comparison, true it was full of plot holes (im most part due to the anime and dodgy movies) but there was respect to its readers in that at least it gave you remotely decent character developments and didn't just "drop" them without explanation (like bleach), the plot holes didn't fill entire chapters with a consistency that astounds, and to top it all the consistent chapterly use of asspull deus ex machina which leave the main character ....well lookin like a complete douchebag all the time.
Still I read coz its free , passes 2mins of a week to read and lastly I've invested way to much time in it now to not know how kubo is (if he even knows how) goin to end it.
So surely enough of the shitty dbz comparisons based on weak ideology comparison.

If you're not getting the DBZ/Bleach comparisons, you're trying too hard.
Main character faces impossible odds but suddenly finds a way to power up and overcome them. How many times did that happen in either story? It doesn't matter that it happens in any number of shonen titles, these are both high profile manga series and they both utilize it exclusively to deal with an unstoppable (yet soon not to be) enemy.
Main character a member of an incredibly strong race which explains why they're so freakishly strong. Well, duh.
Supporting characters soon made useless in the face of the main threat. Sado, Orihime, Uryu and Rukia are awesome, but that doesn't save them from the same fate that Yamcha, Tien, Krillen and eventually Piccolo suffered; being ultimately ineffectual when the main threat gets badass enough.
Reiatsu/Spirtual Pressure = Ki/Power Level. Hell, Kido is just a regimented and specialized form of blast attacks.
Bleach is Dragon Ball Z with swords. Is it done as well as DBZ? Not really. Toriyama may have ceased to give a fuck entirely when Cell was defeated and he had to do yet another arc and padded his chapters and made the most ridiculous power ups (SSJ3, Gotenks), but he wasn't trying to fool anyone into how awesome it was like Kubo tried to. DBZ was fun for fun's sake, while Bleach mistakenly tries to be epic and falls short.
One key difference between the two series are the main characters. Goku was, since he smacked his head, care free, up for whatever and there for his friends. Ichigo on the other hand was super serious because he watched his mom get murdered by an entity which he had no means to stop. That will fuck you up sure as anything when you're a kid and a momma's boy. So he's not happy-go-lucky like Goku, but still he's there for his friends. Though that's one of the tenets of main character archetypes over at Shueisha, so it's a similarity he shares with most shonen leads regardless.
You wanna hate Bleach? Fine. I can even understand where you're coming from. But if you're going to hate it, know that all the previous mega-popular shonen series are responsible for what it is, including DBZ.

You wanna hate Bleach? Fine.
Let's begin explaining this as simply as I can because your obviously struggling to comprehend the difference between truely comparible subjects an ones with meer similarities.
Your first point:
You completely glazed over the fact I stated that although db always powered up its characters in an exponential way it DEVELOPED and tried at least to EXPLAIN how and why the characters got powered up...no ass pull deus ex machinma at every turn (although after cell it started gettin weaker in that department)
Your second:
Supporting charters are allowed to become obsolete...they're support characters after all, but how they're made obsolete is important.
Kubo just drops characters without a hint of finesse and they are simply no longer spoken of...again a lack of character development and ability to (wrap stuff up) destroys any feeling of a cohesive plot.
Db on the other hand shows why characters leave...gettin married, havin kids, acknowledging they are no longer of any help to their more powerful friends ect.
Your third:
The first statement is groundless you don't express why its dbz with swords other than sayin its a shonen with swords....which ain't a comparison.
The rest of that paragraph is oddly what I had stated in an earlier post which is more oddly my point your arguing against.
Your fourth:
Who wants to hate something? Stop being so emo, if I could have a better bleach I think we all would,
However its free online and its a fun trainwreak to poke at so meh I can enjoy a harmless bitch....as do millions (check out a certain bleach thread on another certain popular onepiece forum ; p

You sorta got the order of my points wrong, and I know that I eventually got around to arguing your point but anyway...
*My four points are what I used to back up my Bleach=DBZ comment.
*I said Toriyama did it better than Kubo, but Kubo still did it in the style of Toriyama.
*I'll have you know my guyliner and skin tight jeans are for medical purposes.
Besides, the Bleach is DBZ with swords is more of a way to categorize Bleach for those not in the know, so I don't see what the problem with that even is. It doesn't matter that Toriyama did it better. It's like saying you can't compare third wave ska to second wave ska because second wave is too fucken awesome!

Plot development, slow but steady.

new ch out =.=, emo boy is now even stronger than he was vs cap-mind rape, yet he couln't finish off this weak trash its like play fighting when your a kid, I cut you. no you didn't i dodged with my magic psp powers =.=. i keep hoping he'll turn this around somehow but i keep getting let down hopefully the 1v1 fights will not be a 1 sided as kenpachi's, that or they are he finishes this debacle arc and dose something with the hell arc from the anime.

I think Kenpachi accurately sums up this arc.

This has been bothering me since the Shinigami came back. Way back when the series started there was some crap about how, in spite of looking about the same age as Ichigo and co, Rukia was actually like a 140 years old. Judging by the flashbacks with her and Renji when Ichigo defeated him I thought they aged more slowly in Soul Society... but doesn't Hitsugaya look a little bigger and his hair a little longer, though that could just be because its down. I could be just confusing something or that flashback with Renji could've been anime filler, but even then I don't understand how the lil Captain could change even a bit in the short time they've been gone if time even moves a little slower. Although I guess any costume changes are just considered interesting and he could've just been trying to pander... reading too much Bakuman lately.
Offline
I think it said somewhere Shinigami aging has to do with the amount of reiatsu they have, which is why Yama has looked the same for like a 1000 years. So it probably means Hitsugayas just one of the weaker Captains considering he needs Bankai to fight everyone.

Offline
That makes no sense. if that were true, a lot of older Shinigami would have gray hair and whatnot.

I was never a big fan of Bleach, I even started hating it since the end of the Aizen arc.
The only thing nobody can ever disagree with is how epic Zaraki Kenpachi always is. Also it was fun seeing Yachiru-chan who we haven't seen in a very long time if i remember well.

More reiatsu = slower aging. Which is why Yama, Kyoraku, Ukitake, Unohana, even Urahara looks basically the same now as they did in the TBTP arc 110 years ago, while guys like Hisagi and Byakuya who weren't much back then made a big change.

This makes a lot more sense.

Cyborg pandaman that logic makes sense but what is really scary is how powerfull that little girl who is always on Kenpachi must be she has been 5 years old forever.
Offline
if i recall right she just as strong or even strong that kenpachi, i can't recall what ch but kempachi said something to that effect in the middle of one of the older arcs, she's aged 5-7 years in the past 110+ years so that should give you a rough idea how strong she is, she was a baby when he found her, an then her and kempachi tooled around the SS for X amount of years, he aged quite a bit if you look at how he looked when he first found her as to how he looks now.

maybe there's also a bit of choice in the matter, hitsugaia was made a shinigami because he had a massive ammount of reiatsu for some reason if i remember right, maybe he's forcing himself to age a bit so his body will be more suited for combat?
