Yeah Hitsugaya is supposed to be exceptionally powerful for someone his age, whatever that may be. He looks almost the same as he did in those short flashbacks of him as a kid and almost killing his grandmother with his power, maybe a little bigger. Unohana is a mystery to me because supposedly she was there well before Kyoraku and Ukitake but she doesn't look much older than them.

I'm fairly sure the only logic to shinigami aging is "as fast or slow as Kubo randomly wishes according to when he feels like doing a character design change."
Offline
Right. Hitsugaya ages; Yachiru regresses.

Yaaaay Renji can actually fight now without going immediate Bankai, or even Shikai...yet.

new chapter
Wow, what a mindfuck of an ability, that "Book of End". I can't entirely wrap my head around it yet.

Offline
Well when Kubo decided to keep Bleach going after the whole Aizen ordeal, people including me were saying he would need to come up with an astronomical hax ability for the next villain to justify continuing and I think he achieved that pretty well. Atleast Aizens ability made sense but with this one Kubo's just making shit up as he goes to hax up Tsukishimas powers even further. Gotta say Kubo does do a good job with coming up with overpowering and hax abilities. Next villain will have the ability to kill people by looking at them.

nah, you can think of a ton of ways to get around that.
I don't think it's a big deal, look at the video game guy's ability; and he's done. This can go any way, but it doesn't seem like he's a mastermind, just yet. For all we know, maybe he turns out to be a good guy and they need his help to go against something worse, which is ridic but w/e.

sorry to double post, man the fights are going to take forever if kubo keeps bouncing around without making any kind of meaningful progress, and now it looks like were going to have a freaking flash back.

Offline
I believe double post rules dictate waiting like ten days after the last post to revive a thread. I think you're fine.

Speaking of waiting over ten days, my turn to double post to revive this guy.
I never thought i would see the day when I realized bleach was foreshadowing something like this; Byak has never enjoyed a battle, for the first time he had to scramble to try something new, like itchigo does EVERY battle... and he said he enjoyed it. As someone who loves psychology, this chapter really interested me.

If you're any good at psychology, can you tell me why Kubo does this?

Since when has Ichigo ever won a battle through anything but sheer power advantage? I'm trying to remember all the matches he's had and honestly can't think of any.

The closest he has come to that is when he was fighting Ulquiorra and his Hollow powers suddenly skyrocketed. Granted, he lost all sense of himself while in this state, but like I said, that's the closest he's come to devising a new move under duress.
Thats not a new tech, strategy, figure it out on the fly, anything. That was Ichigo literally dying and his inner hollow coming back out and fighting the battle for him. If Ichigo didn't have hollow powers, which healed his death blow after the fight, Bleach would have ended right there cause the main character died. Actually if he didn't have those powers he would have died fighting Grimmjow, or maybe even against Byakuya.

Even after his fight with Renji, actually. He's been saved by those powers more times than it should be possible, too much of that Son Gohan from DBZ going on here. I think I'll honestly stop reading this, when he has to use a ploy of bringing back popular characters in this manner just to save his ranking that's sad.
Also hat's off to the guy who said something about killing someone be looking at them. Seems the old one eye'd guy used the wrong power in his fight.
Oh and as a last comment I thought, for a while, that Tsukishima's powers were pretty cool, too bad they were simply outsmarted in this case. If the number two arrancar hadn't happened the way it did I'd say that was an interesting fight. Right now bleach is where Yuyu was after then Dark Tournament. Time to end this one Kubo, though that may not be his choice though. (Guess that was a few comments, huh?)
Offline
Yeah I've noticed the elements stolen from Yuyu as well as a few other manga Though this is true in a lot of manga I'm more critical of bleach since I used to like it.

Not enough to answer that on; but probably because it's working (He's still got a job that makes a ton of money off merch), and because he's lazy and drawing it out, maybe. His original story was probably too short, so instead he drew it out.
*EDIT*
Forgot to read the rest of the posts. Actually; Ichigo learned the proper way to focus his desire vs renji, then vs kenpachi he.. I forgot but he realized that, internally, too. I think a point that is trying to be made is that Ichigo's greatest asset is since his mother dying he does not let a single fucking person close to him come in harm's way. He's fucking obsessed with the idea to his fucking core; so as he experiances his own weaknesses, he reenforces his conviction not to let shit go bad and forces whatever pact he has to make his his own body, spirit, power, whatever to make it through to helping who he cares about. I dare say he would make a pact with the devil himself just to save a friend. If you take it in that perspective; it's interesting when he DOES fail, after all that conviction, and a completely seperate part of him that could care less about his friends comes up out of him to save him. What's really interesting is it seems Ichigo only learns his own abilities enough to do what he must to protect his friends, but his inner self, his selfish self.. his hollow.. seems to know hidden aspects of his own ability enough to bring out his true potential and unleash unthought of combat maneuvers (swinging the sword by the cloth?) to surprize the opponent. By comparison is makes Ichigo seem a barbarian in a rage.
That's what I find fascinating about it, but then again some people can find beauty in a plastic bag floating in an afternoon breeze.

Here is a quick summary of this week's chapter:
Ginjo: Your shinigami substitute badge is a lie!
Ichigo: Bankai!
Sad...

I don't see why this is supposed to be all that shocking, or betrayal-y? Ichigo's the son of a former captain with an absurdly high natural reiatsu, who got involved in a big-deal criminal case and defeated two captains during an invasion that threw Soul Society into chaos. It seems pretty understandable to at the very least put the magical equivalent of a beeping house-arrest locator around his ankle.

Wait, I don't remember this at all... When did we find out Isshin had anything to do with a "big-deal criminal case" or that he "defeated two captains"?

He's saying Ichigo did all that, read the sentence again.

Not too bothered about Bleach anymore these days but I have been keeping up with the manga (maybe out of habit?) and I thought this chapter was intriguing. I want to know more about Isshin and Ichigo, etc. Hopefully Tite Kubo won't hold back on us but my expectations aren't too high...

It was all boiling down to this, for some reason. We were expecting this plot. This is supposed to be a small arc, afterwards we get the series's last arc, which would likely be better.. though probably just as fucking slow.

Once again wasn't impressed, story wise, with this chapter. I guess I'm done with this manga, it just works better as an anime, it's weird because the same chaps I hated in the Manga look great animated, oh well.
