Zoro and Sanji were HILARIOUS! Oh my days. And damn was Luffy badass! This is only a hint of what's to come eh? Wish the ep didn't have to stop but this is what we all were waiting for and damn, was it worth it just for that last half! DAMN DAMN DAMN!
*Goes to watch it again!*

Hehe... Not bad at all.
The pacing is as always slow as hell but the ep was not bad. Epic Luffy, Zoro & Sanji, as always too. ![]()

I have stopped following one piece anime because of the slow pace and regular bad animation, but I gave this week's ep a shot. Man, was it awesome! The first half was a bit slow but as soon as "We Go" kicked in it just turned into a constant stream of thrill. ![]()

Like some have mentioned, the first half was really slow and the animation took a while to pick up but as soon as Tate (was it him?) got his hand on it in the second half, it was brilliant. Defonatly some "aaaah yeaaah" moments in the end there.
Was it Haki though? and not just Luffy being stronger because of general muscle growth:P?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but loved Oda omitting Luffy's declaration to Silvers from the manga...feels like forever since we heard Luffy say that.

There was definitely some haki. He used it to avoid the blasts by the pacifista, but i don't think he used it for the punch. You will know when he uses haki to attack soon enough.

Another awesome episode. And lmao at Sanji nosebleed blast off.

That was a hilarious episode, esp with all the Sanji moments ![]()

hahahaha, sanji! The nosebleed-rocket was hilarious! So glad to see that everyone is together again (even though we've had this moment already in the manga..)

Just finished watching the new episode.
Finally, they corrected Usopp's spelling in the title sequence!
I was going to mention this but you beat me to it ![]()

Really liked all the filler-ish expansions on the escape assist fights, and of course, sanji was epic funny
His last blast off lookin at nami's boobage would set me off looking for a transfusion as well
Perona's lookin cutie too! great episode overall- really loved the expansion on Luffy's training with Rayleigh too- gave the tears and farewell a lot more depth.

What a superb episode. The Mugiwara crew really shine when they have each other to bounce off of. Everything from Luffy's montage, Brooke's "spasm", Sanji's reactions to the ladies around him or knowing where Luffy was for 2 years; I had a constant grin on my face during the entire ep. I feel bad about the soldiers facing the New Kamas tho. Out of those fighting on the islands, that's gotta be the worst way to get knocked out. Poor Perona too, no more Boy-toy. ^^

The atmospheric underwater shots looked great and so was the flashback of Rayleigh meeting Roger. I still can't stand Caribou. The way he's drawn and voiced just puts me off.
Did Robin sound different in that one scene where she was talking about coating being similar to the bubbles on Saboady? It sounded a little weird to me.

Really loved he vibrant collors used at the start of the episode, very atmospheric as Namzor pointed out. I also agree about the issues with Caribou, he really stands out with their odd choice of animation style :S

Offline
yup- total agreement- the underwater scenes were beautiful, some of the best stuff for quite some time.
And yes, also agree that caribou is f'in trash in terms of design, voice, etc.

Does Franky's design look different somehow? Something looks off.

Me: We're finally going to see "it" animated!!!
Luffy: Gear third.
Me: YES YES!
*to be continued*
Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Offline
I had that same feeling when the "To be continued" sign popped up. Sigh.....
Oh well, Chopper trolling Brook, Sanji's rehab pictures, and Zoro saying Caribou's crew looked like jellyfish, were the highlights for me. Pissed off Nami after the "mystery current" comment was great too. Can't wait till Caribou is gone.

I wasn't as distraught as that when the episode ended, but I pretty much felt the same way; my reaction was more like "Aw, MAN! Just when the action was getting good!"
I just realized something: I didn't see Chopper eat a Rumble Ball in the episode; he just went straight to Guard Point. I checked the corresponding scene in the manga; it isn't actually shown that he eats one, but the translation implies that he does. So what exactly is the case here? Does he need a Rumble Ball for Guard Point, or doesn't he? I won't spoil any details from later chapters of the manga, but this is actually a conflicting point that needs to be resolved.
Spoilers :The manga shows Chopper eating one, but in the future he says he doesn't need to, so i guess it was a mistake on Oda's part. And so Toei fixed it

Hahaha, just watched the episode and there were some funny moments. Chopper stealing Brook's line was hilarious! Loved the little glimpses at the new powers when Sunny was getting attacked by the Kraken which was building up to the big moment with Luffy...then I got trolled by the "to be continued' screen! BAAAH!
Fairly good ep though. I agree with Galaxy Crisis in that Caribou's movement is definitely not fluid enough...especially after considering what his DF power is too! Speaking of which...I can't remember if Caribou is a logia or not? :S
Oh, and I agree that the issue with Chopper & rumble balls needs to be resolved too.. >_<
EDIT: Ah, seems Caribou is indeed a logia. I was a little confused but checking over old chapters clarified it all. Don't want to say too much in case I spoil it for others. Still no idea about Chopper though, maybe it was just a translation error?

I think the issue has officially been resolved. Judging by Chopper's explanation in future chapters and the lack of the rumble ball in the episode (after said explanation in the manga)....Oda made a mistake using the rumble ball for guard point.
Chopper only needs the rumble ball for one form.

I think Chopper used the Rumble Ball in the manga to make his Guard Point massive. I don't think his guard point is that gigantic without a rumble ball...

I had a similar thought and it's a possibility...I'm not quite convinced though; guess we'll have to wait?
Only thing that is certain that Chopper only needs the Rumble Ball for Monster Point now...

Wow, Eisuku Inoue one week and Katsumi Ishizuka the next. Were getting spioled with amzing animation!
This is where the animation really has the advantage over the manga. Deep under the sea looks so much better in color and animated than in print. I really get a good feel of how it looks and how the bubbles and light react down there. Awesome.
Frankyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....................Nipple Lights!
The Flying Dutchman looks great. Wadatsumi's voice was perfect.
