Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Not sure if there's another thread dedicated to this game but I didn't see it when I glanced at the first page of this forum so gonna make one.

I just received my Treasure Box version of the game today and played through chapter 1 before my brother kicked me off his ps3 so he could play Xbox. XO;;; I'm so loving this game so far. Graphics are amazing, gameplay is fun (though some people wouldn't agree I guess since it's hack and slash for the most part) I like how they integrated so many different elements into the gameplay to keep it exciting. Has anyone else bought the game and played it yet? What do you guys think of it? big_smile

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Was excited, but interest waned over time. Will wait for a US release if there ever is one.

Let us know your thoughts as you progress in the game though. I'm still curious on how it plays out, although I don't care much for the Dynasty Warriors series in general.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Just read its getting a release in US and Europe in November 2012.  Guess we'll hear some new voices for the dubs, though it's not like they'll have to keep the same ones when they get there.

Very interested in getting this game.
How much of the one you got is in Japanese? Also, do you think the treasure box edition was worth it?

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

I love my treasure box edition. The pins are awesome and I never say no to art books. XD

The whole game is in Japanese which doesn't bother me at all. The storyline follows the manga/ anime exactly and the lines are more or less the same. If you're familiar with musou games already then it won't be hard getting the hang of this game.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Doesn't bother you cause you speak Japanese, or because you can nut it out anyway? tongue
Treasure Box edition it looking at about $230 + shipping. sad Yeah pass, even though it look awesome.

Is it just the Ennis lobby arc, as most of the trailers I've seen seem to indicate? I saw Ace quite large on cover art, and he's not really in ennis lobby. hmm

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

It will come to the west but only in download via PSN so no retail.
No details yet if its dubbed, subbed or both.

Only interested if it contains the original adio with subs.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

I COULD be wrong, but I think it's supposed to be both a psn download and through retail.  That's what wikipedia says anyway.  I'm sure in a couple of months we'll know as sites like amazon and gamestop will have something if that is, indeed, true.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Silk: If you've watched the anime/ read the manga then the cut scenes won't bother you at all since the dialogue is more or less exactly the same. So all that's left really are the menu buttons and other things that are easy enough to figure out. Also, I'm fluent in chinese so I can guess at the kanji. Plus I've been watching anime since I was 5 or 6 so I can usually guess at what's being said even without subtitles.

The game goes on until just before the new world saga begins. So you get the cool reunion of the straw hats after 2 years and all the major arcs that happen before that. Ace is prominently featured because the whitebeard saga was basically the climax of the first half.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

Sweet, although 3D2Y spoilers tongue, but sweet! That makes it seem a lot better with Ennis Lobby just being the tip of the Iceburg.

I will import when I get conformation on the PSN thing - I want a box, dammit! tongue Also the release date - would have to have to wait till the end of the year. Figuring out the menus is gonna be fun. tongue

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

If you're willing to wait til the end of the year it seems you won't have to worry much about menus... although honestly sites like gamefaqs usually have translations for stuff like that.

Re: Kaizoku Musou [Spoiler Alert!]

The menus are crazy easy to figure out for the most part. I haven't played it much since I don't have access to a ps3 right now. I will once I head back home for summer break. +_+
