Sweet! Thor will be in Iron Man 2? Crossover heaven! Now THAT"S going to be a challenge to make Thor not look absolutely ridiculous. Someone in that thread suggested Josh Holloway. That's a pretty good idea. And yeah, Cap will be doing overtime in two movies.
I'd still like to see someone guest in Spiderman 4, like Hulk or Wolvie.

If anything, I wouldn't expect Tobey Maquire to be Spiderman, or for Sam Raimi to be involved anymore. I think they're both quite sick of the Franchise seeing as how they both pretty much just phoned it in for the third.

This smells like failure... One of the reasons why people liked Iron Man was because it was somewhat realistic. There was no crazy superpowers, nothing supernatural and nothing that couldn´t be explained with some high-tech-mumbojumbo, and now they´re putting the Norse god of thunder in it? And like X-bones said, it´s very easy to make him wrong. If they also have War Machine in the next one, that´s THREE good guys in one movie, which can very well mean multiple villains, and we all know what can happen with too many villains in one movie. ¤coughspiderman3cough¤
And also, I´m pretty sure Thor can kick Iron Man´s ass, so I´m afraid Thor could be stealing some of Tony´s thunder. (pardon the pun)

If they also have War Machine in the next one

Looks like Mark Ruffalo has been cast as Hulk.
Did a search an this was the closest thing to an Avengers movie thread so there.

wow. Whedon's gonna direct this? That's quite a fanboy scenario. Loved the work he did on xmen, liking his buffy season 8, but overall, I view his live action stuff (buffy included) has never wowed me. Then again, dunno who else they would get, and yet to know the storyline, so watever. Still wishing for a take on the Millar Ultimates version. Hope for the best no?

Jeremy Renner? That's awesome. I'm still disappointed about Ed Norton though, he is one of my favorites. And what happened to Hank Pym? There was a rumour that Nathan Fillion would be playing Hank and Eva Longoria as Janet.

I'm guessing they go short and away from the millar version (which kinda sux), and I'm also disappointed with no norton. Then again, he didn't want much to do with hulk after it came out because he didn't get writing edit credits (thus the complete lack of his showing up at ANY press event/promos). it makes for a bit messy story situation- I don't know how they can make it work, but I hold off on full judgments till it occurs. Which also brings up the whole captain american thing (which I assume will stick in the WW2 timeline so as to not f this team up thing). I personally never liked red Skull as an enemy, but then again, that's my horrible memories from mind numbing lundgren version.

any word on the story, heard its based on the Ultimate Avengers, but I never read it. Even though the cast is pretty big now I'm disappointed they're leaving some of 'em out.

REALLY? If it IS based on the Ultimates...that would be EPIC. Frankly, that series (vol 1 and 2) were among my fave comics of the past 5 years. Millar did an amazing job with the storyline depth, etc. But the problem here is that the current setups with the characters make it inconsistent. So I dunno if it's viable or not. There are definite tweaks that will need to be made, and without Pym/ant man and Wasp, it makes some of the emotional story a bit less involving. Also, Chris Evans as Cap- blegh, he doesn't have the chiseled jaw, classic WW2 army poster look going for him. PLUS, his personality is far too goofy and I can't help but think that it will affect people's expectations of his character's persona. Cap is a fairly stoic guy, rooted in old fashioned ways, can't see it meshing. Maybe he's a good actor? But honestly, I wouldn't bet on it.

YEAAAHH, wasn't disappointed in spite of all the hype. A ridiculously entertaining movie, long live The Hulk yo. And the TWO extra scenes, well the second on was just silly.

*Remember after the fight; Tony Stark was talking about that small food joint near where they where?
The extra extra scene was just them sitting there eating. No dialog just eating.*

I've seen the movie and it was probably the most exciting thing I have ever witnessed. I am a HUGE Marvel comics fan. In fact, I stopped reading Manga because I fell in love with American comics these days. I love all the characters in the Marvel Universe. After reading about them, and then finally seeing them "together" on the big screen was the cherry on top. Can't wait for "The Amazing Spiderman."
Also, at the end of the movie, was that a "skrull red skull?" Because I know skrulls have lines going down across their chin, and I saw some on red skull at the end credits scene.
