I doubt that. It's different, but there was MUCH implication when he said "I was just given command to use all the strength I have to defeat you" so I'm falling on that it's still a power that dissipates your powers.

No, these guys are possibly upto 1000 years old. Uryu's ancestors dealt with them, but not the grandfather. When the quincy were wiped out it was after these guys split off.

This is the first time we see Ichigo's Bankai since getting his powers back. Any differences other than the zigzagging black cloth around his chest? I can't tell if his sword changed.

I like this; killing characters we feel strongly about. That's a true story. That's when you know the series is ending with this final arc. This is by far anywhere from slow, thankfully.

I'm back to liking the series. It's very fresh to me, right now. What about you guys?

It's veeery early to say "100%".  Remember when Allon punched Vice Captain Booblady's organs out?  Or Aizen nearly slicing Ichigo in half down to the spine, after Captain Kuchiki had already beaten on him?  Or Mayuri basically losing his entire torso but still surviving long enough to turn himself into goo?  In fact, while my memory isn't great, I'm fairly sure that Yamamoto's vice-captain being killed was the first time in the *entire series* one of the good guys has died.  I agree that it would normally be a mortal wound, but...Bleach doesn't let go of its characters easily.

Anyone else getting major Karasu vibes from As Nodt?

I think there was some magical hope he was somehow.. alive... I mean, no funeral, so, not AS official.

Interesting things to consider before the next chapter:

1. The four captains that lost their Bankai; These are the four newest captains. There are nine other captains who may very well asked the new captains to try this strategy...

2. Ichigo is immune to this. It's possible it is due to him being a vizard... We have Vizard captains.

3. Kenpachi.


The third reason alone will keep me from reading bleach for a few or more chapters to let it build up. Watching Kenpachi rip these guys a new one would make my year. No lie.

I wanna say Aizen too but then again why would he be in Hueco Mundo when he got locked away in SS. And how did he get his zanpakuto back after it crumbled away. Then again this is Bleach where random shit happens with no explanation so who knows.

Isshin would be good, and we might finally get some answers and stuff about his past! There is so much Kubo could do here to really draw us 'fans' (I use that term ever so generously) in; so much he can reveal!!
