Hi I'm a newbie here. Sorry for this noob question.. What is the used of CRC code?? smile

CRC are codes generated by a program as a means of verifying that what you downloaded matches that of what was uploaded. So that you can be sure that you have 100% of the file.

google "QuickSFV" if you want to know more.

Torrents automatically check that the files you download are correct, so there's no reason to check the CRC code yourself. It's mainly for IRC and direct download sources to verify that the file is downloaded properly.

If you intend to seed the files your torrent program needs you to keep the names the same, and if you ever suspect a file is corrupt you can use the CRC to check it, but other than that you don't need to worry about it.
