I don't know why there isn't a thread about this yet.
Because it is literally THE BEST MOVIE EVER.
Like holy crap.

I was going to go see it this past weekend, but that didn't work out too well. ![]()
Hopefully I'll see it soon. ![]()

I still regard UP as the best animated film, with a fine backbone of story. How to train your dragon was fun, because I can't stop recalling all those Warcraft characters while I am seeing the movie.

I'd rate Wall-E over this one, but it's definitely one of dreamworks' best animated movies.

Meh. Wall-E is alright.
I love Up, but I love How to Train Your Dragon SO MUCH I can't decide which holds the place in my heart for best 3D movie...
I've seen this twice in theatres, once in Imax and once in....regular ghetto theatre.

OMG saw it a week ago and it was so good I want to erase it from my memory so I can watch it on bluray. Definitely took me by surprise. One of those movies that just take you in unconsciously.

MMkay, just got back from watching this in 3D! I've gotta say, it was really good.
*Better than Wall-E* ![]()

I think How to Train your Dragon, Up, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Ratatouille > Wall E.
Individually, of course ![]()

What about Cars??

I found Cars kinda boring :I
According to the official facebook page, How to Train your Dragon is going to be Dreamswork's newest franchise.
A sequel is scheduled for 2013 and there's going to be a TV show -___-
If they ruin this like they did Shrek, there will be hell to pay >_<

Knowing Dreamwork, they probably will ruin it.
A sequel sounds nice, but a TV show is sorta pushing it...

Problem with Shrek was they really had nowhere to go after the first film. They had to carry on being the 'parody' type but didn't have a good idea of what else to go with.
But the Christmas special Shrek the Halls was funny though.

Just saw this. Pretty good- frankly, kinda reminded me of scenes from Avatar. Overall, good movie. Personally, since I'm not an animal owner, I guess I can't like the movie as much as Mushi, and I still prefer Up and Ratatouille. But still pretty good. Wall-E was ok, no way as good as those other two.
Found it funny that all the teen voice male actors work together all the time- McLovin, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, all the younger guys who do the Judd Apatow flix.

Ok, I'm a little late to this party, but I wanted to add my two cents. I thought How to Train Your Dragon was amazing. The story and subject matter were elements that I wouldn't expect to see in a children's movie.
It wasn't until after I saw the movie that I realized that there was a book series that served as the film's source. Based on the book summaries I read, I was astounded to see that the film adaptation was an even stronger story than the original book. Toothless is actually pretty useless in the book series. I'm glad they changed that for that more adventurous Viking feel.

I don't know guys, that award would have to go to Toy story 3

Well, to keep things somewhat on topic, has anyone seen the mini-movie sequels for How to Train Your Dragon? I believe there are three of them (Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon, Book of Dragons, and Gift of the Night Fury). Any good or just heartless money grabbing media?
Offline
the boneknapper was an extra on my BD.
It was pretty funny if I remember correctly but its been a while
Have to rewatch it some time soon
funny movie.

I think i just shat a dragon egg =P can't wait! (as an aside, i enjoy kung fu panda's tv show just a silly/funny incarnation, but if I recall correctly, this tv show was originally scheduled to also air on nick? And was meant to have a darker tone in the lead up to the movie sequels?)
just checked the wiki page- also seems they got the most of the kids cast to come back and voice their respective characters. wow. (whoever does panda on the tv show has jack black down, imo
)
How can you NOT love this theme opening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2LmGPwsrSk
