Wait wait wait I just thought of something fun. If the Quincies are sealing away Bankai's, ain't this already Kenpachi's game?
been waiting for this chapter to prove me right.

It's official: the Stern Ritter can use the Bankai they have stolen!
Renji prepares to use his own Bankai, but the burly man with the star tattoo on his face knocks him clear into the next area.
Äs Nödt scolds him for that. Apparently, the burly man thought only captains could use Bankai.
It looks like Byakuya has become the latest high-ranking official to die. His sword has shattered.
Meanwhile, Kenpachi appears before the Vandenreich's leader, in true badass fashion, carrying a dead Stern Ritter soldier on his shoulders.
Who says the Stern Ritter can't be beaten without Bankai? Not him, that's for sure!
Correction: TWO Stern Ritter Soldiers.

I just read the last six chapters back to back after taking a break. Fun fact; Bleach is much more enjoyable in clumps, and you don't miss it if you pick a good cliffhanger to wait on. It almost felt toooo faaaast.

Also official is that apparently their bankai-stealing medallions have the capacity for more than one, if he wanted to take Renji's too. Maybe it just replaces the last one, but if he can hold several...maybe they can use several bankai at once, too?
Kenpachi made an impressive entrance, but seeing as how he's confronting the enemy leader, I don't think this is going to end well for him.

When ever did you see Kenpachi NOT trying to go after the strongest opponent?
And even if hell freezes and something does happen to him, he will put up a great show.

Wouldn't it be crazy (the answer is yes) if the Stern Ritter leader and Kenpachi are brothers? Say Kenpachi was one of them, died, and came to Soul Society with some poorly explained bout of amnesia and became a soul reaper. I only say this because they kinda look alike and it might be some explanation for why Kenpachi never was able to communicate with his sword. It'd be interesting to say the very least.

They say he's sick. But three weeks, for a career that NEVER takes sick time... seems to imply a potential hospital stay. I want to say he's been hospitalized. Which one of you did it? ![]()

Offline
Maybe his hands exploded, which I assume is a common ailment in weekly manga artists.
Offline
Well the reason its 3 weeks is because it was already planned to not have a new chapter next week, then the week after is Obon so theres no SJ.

Offline
If bleach was just about kenpachi killing stuff each week it would make bleach so much more enjoyable to read, heck even him just talking about it is better than some of the junk he's put out as of late granted this arc so far has been under par for bleach let hope it stays as such let's hope he doesn't end this with his normal level of screw the fans, and a nice big plot hole.

I know I already predicted things not going well for Kenpachi and still stand by it, but I think I can say with pretty certain confidence that this Overkill guy is about to be Maximum Dead.

Maximum Dead.
Yes sir.
Kenpachi always makes the series more enjoyable. I wish they'd lock ichigo away or something so we can watch Kenpachi fight the main dude. That would be awesome.
Wait..

That was the coolest single piece of art i've seen in the series as of yet. Even better than any release.
That 'gore' needed to be placed in this series. More bones and skeletal remains!

Offline
wow if hes been able to do this level of stuff this whole time this makes me a little sad bleach would have been much better with that level gore, would have made the attacks feel like they had some meat to them you know what i mean.

Offline
Well, it's for teens and kids, being a Shonen, so it can't be too bad.. but bones should be fair game.

Offline
That was intense. Great solid chapter. Not a lot happened, but it was very emotional and laid out quite a bit. As for Kenpachi; well, the story is getting interesting. I'll reserve any judgement unless and until things are more clear.

Bah, typical Kubo cheating us out of a potential awesome fight. Genryusai made up for it in this chapter I guess... He was pretty bad ass and I did love how it stirred up everyone else. BUT STILL! *shakes fist*

Kubo please release the Kraken i mean, Aizen.

Offline
Ooouuu, Aizen.... that would be terrible for everyone, though, as Aizen wants everyone dead, potentially. He may want to take out the biggest threat first, and you guys assume he will team up with the lower threat.. but in the process insure his own saftey and the minor threat's eventual demise, as well. Right now SS isn't the minor threat as they are not TRAGICALLY losing, yet.

Shit just got real.
