i dont know if spelled his name right, but you know what im trying to say. im up to episode 160-somethin-or-other, so im well past the arabasta arc. i really thought that we would find out about his scar, and that it would be the secret to his defeat. however, as far as ive seen, nothing has been mentioned about it. i realize that he could have gotten that scar before getting his powers, so if thats the case, let me know. my only request is that if this is something that you know to be an important plot point or spoiler (you never know with OP), then just tell me that much. anything else is cool.

Probably given to him before his powers and isn't anything other than a additional trait to make him look more menacing.

The scar is never explained, much like Bellamy and many others. It's just a unique identification mark.

i had a gut instinct that it meant something, but im content with knowing that it didnt have a deeper meaning. thanks anyway

Somebody cut his face in two. So cool. The number one scar. Prolly some really badass dude that made him wanna be strong and stuff, kinda like an evil Shanks.
Thinking about it, One Piece has pretty many famous scars: Crocs face, Zoros torso, Luffys cheek, Labuns face, Nico Robins birth scar, Choppers antler and probably the most famous of all: the two on Shanks left eye.
A man wears a scar as a medal, right?
Im sure there are plenty more on the minor characters too.

Omgzor...for the last time...it's a friggin' belly button...!!

When and where the fek did you find out about this "Robin's scar"? What is it?

Cmon, there were like five threads about the superlong bellybutton that Oda only gave to one character. But yeah, it's prolly her bellybutton.
It's stuff like this that made the fans wonder
See the difference between the original art and the animated version? The bellybutton has become a lot longer and even sat on the side of her belly in some eps, guess it's bad editing.

how did luffy get his scar?
Offline
he stab himself when he was 10 to prove to shanks that he can be a brave pirate
this is from the manga only because it is not suitable for chlidren to see it in anime

Yeah, considering how ugly most tattoo removals are hers is...really well done. Almost too well done. >_>

oh yeah now i remember.luffy is dumb.
Offline
He's trapped in a giant snake that he didn't even know was a snake until Nami told him...and he's not dumb anymore? He's definitely gonna be dense when it comes to anything but pure emotions, which he's uncannily good at expressing because he's so straightforward.

He's more single minded than dumb.

Actually, Nami's scar is hidden by her shirt. If you ever see the back of her left shoulder, sometimes you see that bad looking gash. Her pinwheel tattoo was just to cover up the old Arlong Mark.

Well, maybe they are details but to tell the truth in the manga Oda drew Nami's scar only in few panels, in the Laboon Arc. In the anime they drew it only in the scene at the end of Arlong Arc when the village doctor has just removed to Nami the Arlong Tattoo.
In any case I don't think that it's a tattoo removal scar, but the scar she did stabbing herself in the shoulder.

What happened to Choppers antler anyway? I've been trying to remember for a little while but I can't come up with anything.
His raindeer family drove him off and it broke when he was trying to get magic mushrooms for the fake doctor guy...
