I am also having problems with my audio playback on the new mp4 releases and they are fairly severe. ><
I have removed as many old codecs as I could find and am now using CCCP - works great for all my old files, the only thing I cannot play so far are the K-F mp4s. When I try to load episode 163, I see the video correctly but garbage sound plays and in 2-3 seconds my player comes up with a windows fatal error in claud.ax
Error occurs in any of 3 players I had on hand - WMP6.4, Zoom and WMP... whatever the current one is. Not sure where to go from here. Appreciate any help you can give me, thanks. ^^
UPDATE: Found the problem. The file claud.ax comes with Cyberlink PowerDVD or apparently with some ATI DVD software based on the same technology. Either way it will hose your playback of these files and should be removed, or in emergencies just flat out deleted from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cyberlink.
Works fine now. ^^

Could somebody help me or post a link for advanced encoding since I managed to encode the ep normaly .
I want to encode it with advanced options to get ( x.264 to xvid ) from the x.264 to the xvid something as nice
as the K-f xvid Releases .
You all understand what I am saying ?
Thanks you .

Not a clue what you're saying, as usual.
Encoding guides and forums can be found at http://doom9.net

"Not a clue what you're saying, as usual"
hmmm How am I going to explain this in a better way ...
OK in your X264 to XviD Encoding Guide you say " The following settings will produce a nice-looking video, but not on the level of a K-F release. Anyone interested in using advanced encoding techniques should read the guides and forums on Doom9.net"
1 . I want to do a nice-looking video on the same level of a K-F release from the x.264 to the xvid version.
2 . I did go on Doom9.net but I dindn't find where I could get some sort of guide for "using advanced encoding techniques "
3 . I managed to encode by following your guide but the result on the same level of a K-F release 3
4 . Could you send me a more precise link or tell me how K-F team encoded x.264 to xvid or the way you would do get a superb result .
5 . I doing my best to be comprehensible "sorry" .
Now did you understand ^^
Thanks

Thanks! The episode works fine now. (Hooray! Now I won't be deprived of my One Piecey goodness!)

New problem, a little harder for me to pin down. Now I can watch ep 163 in mp4 (and all other files), but 164-167 cause my player to hang. When opened in mplayer2 I can see the error message "Cannot allocate memory because no size has been set." Not much to go on I know but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Zannen: the entire site is advanced encoding techniques.
Fullburn: That is quite strange... Do you by chance have both stand-alone ffdshow and CCCP installed?

Offline
I may have traces of both standalone ffdshow and CCCP left in my system, I don't think I can fully extract them. My best bet is probably to try on a clean OS install at this point, I've installed and removed way too much stuff and it is just... fermenting. ><
I will try the "final solution" in the near future because that is all I can think of that's really left. I suspect that will do the trick, the problem is probably still related to some crap I have had installed/and removed either in the past or while trying to get this to work.
Incidentally, from those I have spoken to in trying to get this working, and in my experience with episode 163, the new codec is extremely clunky on full-screen panning shots (scrolling background etc. both horizontal and vertical) with very visible stutters. These occur even while the video is using a mere 10-20% of available resources, they are not related to the systems in question just being tapped out. If this is something that can be corrected in decoder settings I would be interested in learning how, if not then maybe it is something that bears looking into at encoding time, I don't know. All other types of shots looked great, as usual. ^^ Thanks for all your hard work.

Panning shots are the worst for for both XviD and X264. Borderline systems will notice.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do o_O

I have found another way to encode the mp4 files to avi files. In the first stage I downloaded ffdshow and Matroska Splitter. After this I used dvdsanta to convert the mp4 file into a dvd file but I didn't burn this to DVD. as I was prompted to do This DVD video file can be played with DVD player i.e WinDVD or other and can be converted to avi using a dvd ripper i.e. DVDX so you can play it on your DIVX or similar player.
This method is working 100 %.

I use VLC so I started playing the anime and it worked but my problem was that the sound was terrible. So I installed and did everything you said and its still the same.

VLC is completely stand-alone. If VLC doesnt work, its your computer.

Yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the End I did manage to encode with advanced encoding techniques !!!!
The quality is just great .
If anyone has questions feel free to ask ...

Well some how I manage to open it with WMP 10.
Works awesome. I did have to go to microsoft website and download a codec for WMP 10 to play mp4.
Go to microsoft and in the search option write mp4 and u will find a link to download this codec.
After thar I downloaded the codecs that this page says at the beggining.
But still it has the evil quicktime icon >_<
Do I have to keep the quicktime or can unistall it?
Can I change the icon to wmp?

okay guys, if file doesnt play, then install Matroska splitter seperatly, that SHOULD fix 95% of the problems. If you still have problems, then get another computer and try it.
Offline
For the matroska split must only deselect only the avi option. If not the file wont work,

After downloading the ffdshow and the splitter, I can now view the audio files but can't seem to get the sounding to work. Would anyone know the cause of this problem?
