But... Inu Yasha was never called Fushigi Yuugi. Or am I missing some sort of obvious joke here...
edit: as I recall they had similar themes about a girl going to feudal japan, but thats where the similarities end...

hmmm, i need to watch inuyasha again... i watched it years ago, but for that matter, I like dbz years ago... i tend to trust vg cats view on anime b/c of the OP/4kids and dbz comics they did.

I do believe that Inuyasha got served.

Another VGC thread? I think there have been more threads for their strips than "the 'D'" threads. Is it odd that I haven't found a single thing posted here of theirs to be funny? I just really don't care for the characters or the humor. They irritate and bore me.
OMG VG Cats posted another comic! OMFG!

I find several VGCats hilarious. Obviously not most of them though. Maybe it's just not your style. I don't find this one particularly good, but Inuyasha did get burned.

Agreed. I think the analogy "It's like DBZ for girls" quite suits it. Although the annoying thing was how all Rumiko's stories involve certain love triangles/relationships, and just does NOTHING to develop it. After the 100th Inuyasha episode, I got quite fed up with it and didn;t care about it.
My sister and I started watching Blue Seed (anyone hear of it? Classic series) on DVD and we both commented Kusanagi>Inuyasha but also the fact that by the 10th episode Kusangai's girl, "Momiji" actually confesses her love to him while Kagome, whose virtually IDENTICAL stays with the whole "I love you, but don't want to show it" routine throughout the whole 100+ episode series.
"Aww I was wrong, I thought those were B-Cup....Nope! They're just A-Cup"
Classic ^_^

That's not the point. It can be uproarious, horrid, or anywhere in between; it does not warrant a new thread every time a new anime parody comic goes up. That would be akin to me posting to gaming forums messages like "Hey guys! There's a new Penny Arcade comic up, and it's about games! You should check it out!" I understand the specific idea here; a webcomic did something about anime, people here like anime, let them know. Fine, but this far from the first time this exact type of thread has popped up. The first one should have said "look, VGCats did an anime parody. they do this sometimes. read them." and that could have been the end of it.
Webcomics update. Often, with jokes. I'm happy you (collectively) found something enjoyable, but webcomics update all the time. That's the entire point. Please read them on your own.
That said, it's nice to see InuYasha get blasted by a slightly known source. Deserves it.

I partly agree with this, but I understand the impulse of wanting to see reactions to something cool, like this webcomic for example. And since you're already on a computer, you post on a messageboard. And for Kaizoku fansub member who don't have a screenname on the VGcats board, going here is easier. So...I guess....register on the VGcats board.

i don't really like VG cats or anything, but i wonder if he really does get all that retarded email about certain shows?

personally, i loved inuyasha. but it did get really retarded after awhile when nothing started happening and then they ended it just because they got sick of making it or somthing. i felt the comic was particuarly harsh due to the fact that he hated it enough to not watch it and experience what wasnt good about it. the comic probably was one of the only few that didnt make me laugh.

I disagree for several reasons. First of all, even if there have been multiple such threads, there are going to be people who didn't see them and don't read the comic. If there is a link to a specific strip, they might check it out.
Second, this is a discussion about just that strip. It is not about VGCats in general, and like you mentioned there is the anime theme. If what you suggested occured and a thread just told people about the comic and people just read it on their own, we wouldn't be having a conversation about the bashing of Inuyasha. The topic creator obviously thought that theme was worth discussing, and that's what message boards are for. By your logic, we shouldn't be discussing any update of any sort; people should notice on their own.
Third, even if nobody else (obviously you don't) think it merits its own thread, what's the harm in making it? It would simply not get replies and drop off the page. All you did by complaining was bump a thread you don't want to see. Just be happy it's not as retarded as most of the posts in the Kaizoku Talk forum.

Internet cartoons suck. I didn't read the aforementioned one, but i presume it sucks. However, Inuyasha doesn't need a sucky comic to pwn it, it pwns itself.

Yes. Exactly. Especially since any anime-related comic VGCats has done has already been mentioned here.

Well, obviously. By default.

Okay, now, I'm NOT trying to blast anyone here who htought this was funny, and it's not my intent to be a jerk.....but really, that comic wasn't that funny. I'm not an Inuyasha fan. I don't hate it, but it did get REALLY old after a while. However, wether you hate the show, love the show, or something in between, that comic was nothing special. It was just a rant. I could do the same thing aobut any show with any fanbase at all. There was nothing clever, and there wasn't anything funny. Hell, I could go to any number of forums, or even to school, and here rants like this. Doesn't make 'em funny or clever. There's no punchline, no joke, no nothing; the whole strip is just an excuse for some crazed Inuyasha-haters rantings. Me or anyone else could have the same hate-filled rant about anything they hate, from Naruto fans to Mac computers to Emerson microwaves. And I'll bet alot of people here would declare war against the VG Cats if they had this very same comic strip copied and pasted to be a rant against One Piece.
And, to be honest, I like alot of VG Cats stuff. But this comic was honestly pretty stupid. *sigh* That's my two cents.

It just goes to show, those who can make anime with a strong fan following do. Those who cant, make a stupid cartoon character who wears UNDERWEAR on his head utter snotty remarks. Still at least IY will always be more reknowned, have more fans and tons more merchandise than VGC's creator could ever dream of having. So one pissant webcomic's uninspired rant will hardly matter to Rumiko Takahashi whos probably crying all the way to the bank. Have Ebay loaded with tons of figures of Leo and Aeris, THEN maybe we'll talk.
A comic with overly cartoony looking characters making snarky comments about anime, video games and science fiction? I remember reading this strip when it was known as both PENNY ARCADE and PvP. But they could actually be amusing during the occasional strips that ARENT bashing George Lucas or John Romero.
Their 4KOP "pwning" was a day late and a dollar short. People have already had more inspired flamings on the subject months before. And his Luffy looked like crap.

Wow. I made it to the 5th, and went "well, that was the exact same as the others! and realise dthat all the episodes basically had the same plot line, and same repition, ep, by ep.
and it pissed me off. I am glad Inuyasha got served. it deserves it more than any 4kids chopped anime.

I like this one, since everyone is talking abou them. I love PSP commercials.
I like Inuyasha sometimes. And VGcats is pretty funny, or least the ones that have been pointed out to me are; I don't really follow it. The only webcomic I really follow is Think Tank. I think it's funny. Start from the beginning.
