To me, Kuro is even cooler than Crocodile.

He has the looks (I love those glasses that gleam omniously, it gives me the creeps; plus, I prefer my villains lean and bony, as opposed to the powerhouses Luffy usually fights), the weapons (is there anything cooler than cat-like blades? I don't think so!), the moves and antics (the way he adjusts his glasses and the way he rattles his blades before an attack) and the cold-heartedness that suites a true badass.

Who cares if he left being a pirate and betrayed his crew? He did it for villainous reasons and that's what counts when it comes to rating a villain, right?

The whole betraying thing doesn't bother me, he just doesn't give a crap about anybody but himself. It is a let down that he quit pirating for a time, but now that I think about it, if he didn't do that, then we probably wouldn't have seen him.

I admire the fact that he has the will and determination to single-mindedly attain peace of mind. The fact that he killed tons of people is just icing on the cake. Also, he must be really strong. I mean, if he can manipulate all of those blades with just one finger each, and they're tough enough to pierce solid stone, he's gotta rival luffy in stamina. And i love that jacket. I WANT THAT JACKET.

Some of my friends don't think so. My one friend said that Kuro is the child of Auron from FF10 and Freddy Krueger (sp?). While playing Grand Battle, my other friend said she could picture him saying "Who's going to clean my dentures."

I don't understand why his '3 year plan' was neccesary. Why didn't he just (after faking his death) force Kia to give him the money? Or something...

His 3 year plan was neccesary so Kuro could live a peaceful life. If he just suddenly appeared and got the money from her then all the town folk would be suspicious and he would lose the peaceful life he desired.

Yeah, the point with Kuro was that he was a cold and calculating pirate captain. He was so calculating that, on a whim, he could plan out the next three years of his life to the point of having a specific day to have his plan come to fruition.

Yea sure hes evil, has a cool weapon and a pointless move that cuts random stuff at high speed. But he gave up easily because of a few marine encounters. cmon really he cant at least come up with a better way of retiring or at least sail the grand line. Don Krieg is better at least he had the balls so sail the grand line too bad he encounter Mihawk. Heck i vote Mihawk to be the coolest pirate hence the title schichibukai.

I thought it was “Kuro of a thousand plans”, but anyway Kuro is by far my favourite character in OP.
And you have to remember with the hole quitting thing is that back in the day he was the most infamies pirate in East Blue, more feared then Kreig. So he would have been hassled allot and I bet he embarrassed the Marines and the WG a few times witch probably didn't help ether...
But the thing with Kuro is that I can see him coming back for some reason, but I believe he could even come back as a Shchibukai, he just fits in so well with the character description. And now he would not only be at full strength this time but even stronger and damn faster with a few new tricks too, and he'd be coming in with a plan just for them this time around.

Naah, I don't think that'll happen. Though we can't rule anything out.

And I wonder what has Kuro been up to lately? He wasn't captured by the marines, he just went sailing to the seas and looked quite depressed in the episode where they showed Luffy getting his first bounty.

haha, i dont think it will. buggy and alvida dont seem to be strong enough to survive long enough on the grand line to catch up to luffy.
