The One Piece Music Thread
~THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ~
This thread is about discussing everything music in One Piece. If you have questions about what piece of music was where in an episode or movie, just ask. There's usually someone around who can help. But when you're asking about a scene in a particular episode, please give the episode number. And even a time would be helpful to make it easier for people to find. Do not make several requests for the same thing. In other words, don't make a request and keep posting the same request over and over again til someone answers. It's bloody annoying. Repeat requests will simply be deleted. Mark any spoilers you may post. Anything past a K-F episode is a spoiler.
Who makes the BGM?
- Most of the great background music in One Piece is made by Kouhei Tanaka and Shiroh Hamaguchi.
Where to get music.
- Ask in this thread.
- You can always try K-F IRC. There are also sites on the internet that may have direct download or torrents. Google can help you with that.
- K-F has several songs in CD quality("lossless") FLAC format. Check the "Get One Piece!" menu for those.
- Best background music downloads.
Here are some Best Of compilations I've put together. Most music requests in this thread happen to be in these files, so it might be worth it to download. I've included album art in all files which works nicely in iTunes or an iPod or such and all music is ripped at the highest quality - 320kbs variable bit rate.
The Best Of One Piece TV BGM - part 1, part 2 - This contains contains 27 BGM pieces from the Music and Song Collections. All the files are tagged as "One Piece Best TV BGM" but the original album names and track numbers are in the "Comments" section of the ID3 tags, so it still has all the proper info and if you want to retag using the original album names, it'll be easy. Some of the songs say "playlist edit." Several tracks on the CDs are combinations of two or even three pieces. Sometimes one part of the track is great but the other part isn't or one part is a redundant piece from another track. So in these cases I edited them to keep the best parts.
The Best Of The One Piece Movies - part 1, part 2 - They use a lot of the movie music in the series as well, so here's a Best Of Movie BGM. There are 42 tracks that cover Movies 2-9 but not Movie 3. Nothing really stands out on that one and they very rarely use any of it in the series. For this playlist I left the original album titles and track numbers in the tags but the files themselves are numbered in chronological order of the movies all the way from M2 to M8. All you have to do is drag and drop into Winamp or whatever and it should play them in order.
- Karaoke Collection
Here are all of the available karaoke OP/ED and some other singles. It's zipped in four parts.
Karaoke Collection Part 1
Karaoke Collection Part 2
Karaoke Collection Part 3
Karaoke Collection Part 4
Enjoy.
- Just want to listen only? Check out One Piece Radio.
It features not only general One Piece songs (eg. OP/ED/IM/MV/etc.), but also all of OP's background music played live to your computer.

~ Extra stuff:
One Piece Insert Song - From The New World. This is the mp3 of the piece played during the Luffy vs. Croc finale. The flac file can be found in K-F's Get One Piece section.
The BonClay-Chopper song A rare track I cut from the Grand Battle 2 soundtrack. Cute and weird.
The Luffy Island Song - The song Luffy sings while walking through the forest of Skypeia.
The soundtrack from episode 309 - Every song, in order, from episode 309. Big episode, big music. Alternate download.
Jouriku! Ougon No Shima (Omake edit) - This is the music which introduced the omake shorts shown at the end of episodes 279-283. Edited from the longer track to match the TV length.
Eyecatches - Every eyecatch in separate files with individual art. Even Vivi. :/
New *spoiler*Franky*spoiler* Eyecatch: Toei did not make an original song this time but re-edited a clip from Shinken Shoubu from the Music & Best Song Collection(2001).

Awesome new thread Crossbonies! You're doing Bialy's thread justice XD
I'm in love with that picture of all your soundtracks o___o
seriously...and the hiding Chopper is just like the icing on the cake
And whoa, where's that Chopper Bon Clay song from? o_o
It's awesome but.....very Bon Clay ish ^^"
I don't know if this matters....but...
-1st, 2nd movies have no themes
-Mabushikute (Third movie; Dasein)
-Ready! ("Jango's Dance Carnival"; Folder5)
Shouldn't Ready go before Mabushikute? XD

The Bon Clay/Chopper song is from the Grand Battle 2 Music & Song Collection CD. Most of the 37 tracks are awful, generic Casio keyboard themes. But there are a couple of interesting tracks. One is a version of We Are! with completely different lyrics and another one is one of those "message" tracks with Chopper meeting Bon Clay and getting hypnotized by Jango. I just cut out the part with the song. I like Chopper's singing in it.

Yeah, that's right. I copied/pasted the list from the old site. I should have looked at the picture.
Anyway, I'll fix that.

When Luffy is beating up Croc? "From the New World." It's in the K-F download section.

Wow, the Bon Clay/Chopper one was a bit weird. Anyways, I was wondering, can I ask for music from episodes beyond the ones K-F are subbing?

That's track 41 from the Movie 5 OST. Best song on that CD, imo.

Thanks, crossbones. Although I haven't heard the OST, it is definitely one of my favourites.

Track 4, Movie 7 OST. They'll be playing a lot of that soundtrack for the next year.

The song "Family" where all of the Mugiwara's sing, doesn't it appear in an episode or movie? I think I have seen it somewhere but I don't know where, do you know where it is? Or do I have to download it?

There's one particular piece of background music I've been looking for for ages. It's the classical/spanish guitar music that plays when Ace is fighting Scorpion in one of the Alabasta extended filler episodes. I've imported a fair few of the Music and Song Collection/Soundtrack Albums from ebay (there's a strange lack of a market for One Piece collectibles in Scotland lol). Just wondering if there's anywhere that has it downloadable or even knows if it's on any of the CDs?
*Edit* Episode 101 I believe, in the last 5 minutes or so of the episode

Good God. That filler even had filler music. All of those unidentified songs are not on any of the released CDs. A couple of them sound similar to some of the stuff on the Grand Battle 2 CD. So I'm thinking it could be from any of the numerous unreleased game soundtracks. That's my best guess anyway. Either that or they just felt like it wasn't even worth releasing on a BGM compilation. Good challenge though.
Also, in the future try to give an episode number. That would help. Anyway, it reminds me to add some stuff to the intro of the thread.

It's the ending song for Episode 128 and Tv Specials 2,3 and 4 and plays during the camping party in Skypiea in Episode 166 17:05+.
